Description
The present invention relates to a fuel tank for an automobile formed by joining a pair of molded products that are divided and injection-molded, that is, an upper tank and a lower tank, and a method for manufacturing the same.
Conventionally, the structure of a fuel tank for automobiles has been made of metal. However, in recent years, thermoplastic synthetic resins have been used due to the weight reduction of vehicles, the absence of rust, and the ease of molding into desired shapes. The ones made by the company have come to be used.
For the production of automobile fuel tanks made of synthetic resin, blow molding methods have been often used because of the ease of molding hollow bodies. In the blow molding method, a melted synthetic resin parison is formed into a cylindrical shape and extruded from above, and the parison is sandwiched between molds and air is blown into the parison to manufacture an automobile fuel tank.
However, this method increases the overall weight of the parison in the case of a large synthetic resin hollow product such as an automobile fuel tank, and increases the strength when the strength of the automobile fuel tank is required. Therefore, the weight of the parison also increases when manufacturing a thick automotive fuel tank, and when the molten parison is dropped from the upper part of the molding machine into the mold, the upper wall thickness is lower. In some cases, it was thinner than the wall thickness.
In addition, in the case of a product with a complicated shape such as a fuel tank for automobiles, when the parison is expanded in the mold, the rate of expansion of the parison may vary depending on the part of the product. In some cases, there was variation.
Blow-molded automobile fuel tanks are difficult to provide with ribs and beams inside, and the rate of expansion of the parison may vary depending on the part of the product, resulting in variations in tank thickness. It was. Therefore, a great deal of labor has been required for wall thickness management and quality control. Further, it is difficult to attach accessories such as a fuel valve in the fuel tank.
Therefore, the synthetic resin hollow body is divided into upper and lower parts, molded separately by injection molding or the like, and then the upper tank and the lower tank are abutted at the abutting portion to form a fuel tank.
In such a method of forming the upper tank and the lower tank, for example, a sheet-like laminate comprising an inner surface material, a permeation prevention film and an outer surface material is press-molded to form an upper and lower divided body, and then the upper and lower divided bodies are formed. There is one that welds and joins bodies (for example, see Patent Document 1).
Further, for each of the upper tank and the lower tank, there is also a type in which a film having a permeation prevention function is formed by vacuum forming, and then an outer surface protective layer is formed by injection molding, and then welded and joined (for example, Patent Documents) 2).
In the case where it is necessary to form the upper tank and lower tank separately and then weld and join the peripheral edge of the opening as described above, for the fuel tank etc., complete welding of this joining surface is guaranteed and It is necessary to ensure the strength of the part.
For this reason, a method has been proposed in which a hot plate is not brought into direct contact with the joining surface to be welded, but is melted by radiant heat with a little separation, and the joining surface is uniformly heated and melted (see, for example, Patent Document 3). . However, in this case, it takes time to heat the joint surfaces, and the productivity is not good. In a fuel tank that is a large resin product, the equipment may be huge.
Therefore, there has been a demand for an easy-to-manufacture automobile fuel tank in which the fuel tank is divided into an upper tank and a lower tank, and the opening peripheral edges of the upper tank and the lower tank are uniformly joined with sufficient strength.
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention of claim 1 is characterized in that an upper peripheral portion of an upper fuel tank and a lower tank constituting a fuel tank for an automobile formed by dividing by a thermoplastic synthetic resin are combined, pressurized, and integrated. In automotive fuel tanks formed by jointing
The upper peripheral edge of each of the upper tank and the lower tank is provided at the tip thereof with a joining surface that is welded and united, and the joining surface is formed in a straight line in the thickness direction of the side walls of the upper tank and the lower tank. And at least a part is formed in a curved line in the pressurizing direction during welding, and at least a part of the joining surface is formed on a surface composed of a plane perpendicular to the pressurizing direction during welding of the upper tank and the lower tank. And at least part of the inclined surface is formed on a surface composed of an inclined surface, and the inclined surface has an inclination angle of 45 degrees or less with respect to a plane perpendicular to the pressing direction,
The joint surface of each of the upper tank and the lower tank has a constant dimension in the pressurizing direction from the joint surface, and the wall thickness of the opening peripheral portion is constant , regardless of the portion formed at any of the opening peripheral portions. Both sides of the wall are formed in parallel so that the thickness of
Each opening peripheral edge is provided with an outer peripheral flange on the outer periphery of the opening peripheral edge at a certain distance from the joint surface over the entire periphery, and the outer peripheral flanges of the upper tank and the lower tank are formed so as to face each other. The section is an L-shape whose cross-sectional shape is bent in the opposite direction with respect to the joint surface, and forms a flange recess between the opening periphery and the bottom surface of the flange recess forms a flange recess pressing surface . In any of the formed portions, the distance between the flange recess pressing surface and the joint surface in the pressurizing direction is the same.
In the first aspect of the present invention, the upper peripheral portion of the upper fuel tank and the lower tank constituting the automobile fuel tank that are divided and molded by the thermoplastic synthetic resin are combined, pressed, and integrally joined. It is a fuel tank for automobiles. Therefore, the upper tank and the lower tank can be molded separately, and each can be molded by injection compression molding to obtain an upper tank and a lower tank with high dimensional accuracy and high strength. Therefore, the synthetic resin fuel tank formed by combining the upper tank and the lower tank can provide a precise and high strength product with high dimensional accuracy.
The upper and lower tanks are joined together and joined together so that the upper and lower tanks can be easily and reliably integrated, and a solid fuel tank that does not leak liquid from the welded part. Obtainable. Since the upper tank and the lower tank use the same material, the bonding is strong.
In addition, it is possible to easily attach reinforcing ribs and built-in components inside and outside the upper tank and the lower tank.
The upper peripheral edge of each of the upper tank and the lower tank is provided at the tip thereof with a joining surface that is welded and united, and the joining surface is formed in a straight line in the thickness direction of the side walls of the upper tank and the lower tank. In addition, at least a portion is formed in a curve in the pressing direction during welding. For this reason, a concave surface and a supply hole for fuel, etc. are provided in each of the upper tank and the lower tank, but the joint surface of the upper tank and the lower tank can be freely formed avoiding the position of the concave surface and the supply hole for fuel, etc. , It becomes easy to design the shape, the position of the oil filler opening, etc., and the degree of freedom of design is improved.
An outer peripheral flange portion is provided on the outer periphery of each opening peripheral edge of the upper tank and the lower tank at a certain distance from the joint surface over the entire periphery, and the outer peripheral flange portions are formed to face each other. . For this reason, it can press easily over the perimeter of an opening peripheral part by pressing a flange part. Furthermore, the outer peripheral flange portions of the upper tank and the lower tank are opposed to each other, and by applying pressure so that the entire opening peripheral portion is pushed by a certain distance, a pressing force can be uniformly applied to the joint surface, The joining surface is uniformly melted at each portion, and uniform joining can be achieved.
In the first aspect of the present invention, at least a part of the joint surface of each opening peripheral edge of the upper tank and the lower tank is formed on a surface constituted by a plane perpendicular to the pressurizing direction at the time of welding. For this reason, by controlling the movement distance of the joining surface at the time of pressurization by using a plane perpendicular to the pressurizing direction at the time of welding as a reference surface, the welding margin of the opening peripheral edge portion is managed and uniform joining is performed. Can do.
In the present invention of claim 1 , at least a part of the joint surface of the opening peripheral edge portion of the upper tank and the lower tank is formed on a surface composed of an inclined surface, and the inclined surface is a plane perpendicular to the pressurizing direction. The inclination angle is 45 degrees or less. For this reason, when pressurizing and welding an opening peripheral part, a joining surface does not shift | deviate along the inclined surface, but a joining surface can be pressurized reliably and an opening peripheral part can be joined firmly.
According to the first aspect of the present invention, each of the joint surfaces of the upper tank and the lower tank has a constant dimension in the pressurizing direction from the joint surface in the portion formed at any of the peripheral edges of the opening. Since both walls of the wall are formed in parallel so that the thickness of the wall of the part is constant, even if the distance that the joint surface of the opening peripheral edge moves during pressurization varies, it is perpendicular to the pressurization direction. The area to be melted, which is a cross section, is constant, and there is no protrusion on the melted surface, so that uniform melt bonding is obtained.
The flange portion has an L shape whose cross-sectional shape is bent in the opposite direction with respect to the joint surface, and a flange concave portion is formed between the opening peripheral portion and the flange portion. For this reason, by inserting a jig into the flange recess, it is possible to reliably press the joint surface of the upper peripheral edge of the upper tank and the lower tank over the entire circumference, and the distance between the flange recess and the joint surface is constant. Therefore, the joint surface can be uniformly pressurized by the movement of the upper tank or the lower tank.
The bottom surface of the flange recess forms a flange recess pressing surface, and the distance in the pressing direction between the flange recess pressing surface and the joint surface is the same in any portion formed at the peripheral edge of the opening. For this reason, the moving distance of the pressurizing jig at the time of welding can be made the same in the pressurizing direction at all the joining surfaces, and the control of the moving distance of pressurizing at the time of welding can be facilitated.
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, the flange portion is a fuel tank for an automobile in which the cross-sectional shape is an L shape that is bent in the opposite direction with respect to the joint surface, and a flange concave portion is formed between the peripheral portion of the opening.
In the present invention of claim 6, the flange portion has an L shape whose cross-sectional shape is bent in the opposite direction with respect to the joint surface, and a flange concave portion is formed between the peripheral portion of the opening.
An outer peripheral flange portion is provided on the outer periphery of each opening peripheral edge of the upper tank and the lower tank at a certain distance from the joint surface over the entire periphery, and the outer peripheral flange portions are formed to face each other. . For this reason, it is possible to easily pressurize the entire circumference of the opening peripheral edge by pressing the flange, and press the entire outer periphery of the opening by a certain distance so that the outer peripheral flanges face each other. By pressing, the joining surface is uniformly melted at each portion, and uniform joining can be achieved.
In addition, the opening peripheral edge of each of the upper tank and the lower tank is provided with a joining surface at the tip, and the joining surface is formed in a straight line in the thickness direction of the side wall of the upper tank and the lower tank, and is pressurized during welding In the direction, at least a part is formed by a curve. For this reason, it is possible to freely form the joint surface between the upper tank and the lower tank, avoiding the concave surface of the upper tank and the lower tank and the position of the fuel supply hole, and it becomes easy to design the shape, the position of the fuel filler port, etc. , Design flexibility is improved.

The

In the present embodiment, since the upper surface of the
When at least a part of the joint surfaces 13 and 23 of the opening

In the embodiment of the present invention, the end surface of the opening

In the
As shown in FIG. 8B, the inclined portion joining surface 11c of the
As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, an outer
In the
As shown in FIGS. 8A and 8B, the outer
The bottom surface of the
Each of the opening

Next, a method for manufacturing the fuel tank 1 will be described. The fuel tank 1 is manufactured by separately molding the
The
Next, a process of welding the
First, the
At that time, the tips of the holding jigs for the
In this pressurizing operation, the
At this time, if the
However, when the distance between the outer
