【0005】

【0036】

[0012]
The eighth object of the present invention is to provide a heat-sensitive recording sheet having further excellent fading resistance by further containing a predetermined storage stabilizer in the heat-sensitive recording layer.
[0013]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
As a result of diligent research to obtain a heat-sensitive recording sheet with little background fog even when exposed to high temperature conditions for a long time, the present inventors have found that it can be obtained and completed the present invention. That is, the heat-sensitive recording sheet according to the present invention is provided with a heat-sensitive recording layer on a support, and 6 '-[ethyl (4-methylphenyl) amino]-is used as a leuco dye as an electron donor in the heat-sensitive recording layer. 3'-Methyl-2 '-(phenylamino) -spiro [isobenzofuran- (3H), 9'-(9H) xanthen] -3-one, 2,4-dihydroxyphenyl as an electron acceptor developer Sulfone and di (p-chlorobenzyl) oxalate as a sensitizer, and the ratio of the leuco dye, the developer and the sensitizer is 1.0: (1.5 or more and 2.0 or less) ) :( 0 to exceed 1.0), and dry coating amount of the heat-sensitive recording layer is characterized by a 4~10g / m 2.
[0014]

However, the OD value (optical reflection density) is 0.20 or less, and the color density when the 150 ° C. heating block is pressure-bonded to the thermal recording sheet at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds is OD value. It is preferable to form it to 1.20 or more .
[0015]
In the thermosensitive recording sheet according to the present invention, the thermosensitive recording layer contains 4-benzyloxy-4 ′-(2,3-epoxy-2-methylprop-1-yloxy) -diphenylsulfone as a storage stabilizer. Is preferred.
[0020]

The undercoat layer is not provided directly on the support, but is provided between the support and the heat-sensitive recording layer as necessary for color development uniformity or the like. This undercoat layer is composed of inorganic pigments such as kaolin, clay, talc, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, calcined clay, titanium oxide, or particulate anhydrous silica, and organic materials such as styrene, styrene-acrylic copolymer, and urea resin. Pigments and water-soluble and water-dispersible resins such as polyvinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose, starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, casein, acrylate copolymer latex, and styrene-butadiene copolymer latex, either singly or in combination Can be used.
[0024]
The heat-sensitive recording layer contains a leuco dye that is an electron donor, a developer that is an electron acceptor, and a sensitizer.
[0025]
The colorless or light leuco dye which is an electron donor is 6 ′-[ethyl (4-methylphenyl) amino] -3′-methyl-2 ′-(phenylamino) -spiro [isobenzofuran- (3H), 9 '-(9H) xanthen] -3-one.
[0026]
The developer that is an electron acceptor is 2,4-dihydroxyphenylsulfone.
[0027]
The sensitizer is used for increasing the recording sensitivity in the heat-sensitive recording layer, and is di (p-chlorobenzyl) oxalate.
[0028]
The ratio of the leuco dye, the developer and the sensitizer in the heat-sensitive recording layer is preferably 1.0: (1.5 or more and 2.0 or less): (greater than 0 and 1.0 or less). In the above ratio, if the developer is less than 1.5, a heat-sensitive recording sheet having a sufficient color density cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if it exceeds 2.0, the color density is unnecessarily added and is useless. In the above ratio, the sensitizer is preferably added to increase the color density, but if it exceeds 1.0, background fog is likely to occur.
[0029]
The dry coating amount of the heat sensitive recording layer is preferably 4 to 10 g / m 2 . If the dry coating amount is less than 4 g / m 2 , a heat-sensitive recording sheet having a sufficient color density cannot be obtained. On the other hand, if the dry coating amount exceeds 10 g / m 2 , the color density is sufficient, but the background fogging is somewhat. It is useless to occur.
[0030]
In addition to a leuco dye as an electron donor, a developer and a sensitizer as an electron acceptor, 4-benzyloxy-4 ′-(2,3- Epoxy-2-methylprop-1-yloxy) -diphenyl sulfone can be added.
[0031]
The coating liquid containing a colorless or light leuco dye as an electron donor and a developer and a sensitizer as an electron acceptor generally uses water as a dispersion medium and is stirred and pulverized in an attritor, ball mill, sand grinder, etc. Prepare various heat-sensitive materials separately or by finely dispersing two or more kinds together with a dispersant so that the average particle size is about 0.5 to 3 μm, and then adding an adhesive, mixing and stirring. This coating solution is applied and dried on a support to form a heat-sensitive recording layer.
[0032]
Specific examples of the adhesive used here include water-soluble and water-dispersible resins such as polyvinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose, starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, casein, and acrylate copolymer latex. At this time, polyvinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose, starch, carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, casein, and acrylate copolymer latex are added in an amount of 5 to 50% by weight, preferably about 10 to 30% by weight based on the total solid content.
[0033]
Furthermore, to prevent the thermal recording sheet from sticking due to contact with the recording device or the recording head, the dispersion liquid of zinc stearate, calcium stearate, paraffin wax, etc. in the coating liquid and the adhesion of the recording head residue are improved. Therefore, inorganic pigments such as kaolin, clay, talc, calcium carbonate, aluminum hydroxide, calcined clay, titanium oxide, and particulate anhydrous silica can be added.
[0034]
An overcoat layer can be further provided on the heat-sensitive recording layer for the purpose of protecting the heat-sensitive recording layer. On the other hand, it is of course possible to provide a protective layer on the back surface of the support, and various known techniques in the field of producing a thermal recording sheet are added.
[0035]
The heat-sensitive recording sheet according to the present invention has a color density of 0.20 or less in OD value when a heating block at 100 ° C. is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds, and a heating block at 150 ° C. is 800 g / cm 2. The color density when pressed for 5 seconds at cm 2 is preferably 1.20 or more in terms of OD value. When the color density when a 100 ° C heating block is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds and the OD value exceeds 0.20, the thermal recording sheet is exposed to high temperatures for a long time. The background fog becomes larger. On the other hand, if the color density when a heating block at 150 ° C. is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds and the OD value is less than 1.20, the recording density is thin and not practical.
[0036]

[0046]
The heat-sensitive recording sheet thus obtained was evaluated as follows.
[Evaluation methods]
In the following evaluation items, an OD value (optical reflection density) was measured as a color density using a DM-440 reflection densitometer manufactured by Dainippon Screen. In the present invention, the OD value refers to a value measured using a DM-440 reflection densitometer manufactured by Dainippon Screen.
(1) Color density when in contact with a heating block at 150 ° C for 5 seconds Color development under the conditions of a heating block of 150 ° C, a load of 800 g / cm 2 and a contact time of 5 seconds with Toyo Seiki Co., Ltd. The color density (OD value) of the color development area was determined.
(2) Color density when in contact with a heating block at 100 ° C for 5 seconds Color development under the conditions of a heating block at 100 ° C, a load of 800 g / cm 2 and a contact time of 5 seconds with Toyo Seiki Co., Ltd. The color density (OD value) of the color development area was determined.
(3) Heat resistance test 1
When the heat-sensitive sheet of the colored part and the non-colored part when the heating block at 150 ° C is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds is stored for 24 hours under a high temperature condition of 60 ° C, the colored part and the non-colored part The concentration (OD value) of was measured.
(4) Heat resistance test 2
When the 150 ° C heating block is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds, the heat-sensitive sheet of the colored and uncolored areas is stored for 7 hours under a high temperature condition of 70 ° C. The concentration (OD value) of was measured.
(5) Heat resistance test 3
When the 150 ° C heating block is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds, the heat-sensitive sheet of the colored and uncolored areas is stored for 7 hours under high temperature conditions at 80 ° C. The concentration (OD value) of was measured.
(6) Heat resistance test 4
When the heat-sensitive sheet of the colored part and the non-colored part when the heating block at 150 ° C is pressed for 5 seconds at 800 g / cm 2 is stored for 7 hours under the high temperature condition of 90 ° C, the colored part and the non-colored part The concentration (OD value) of was measured.
[0047]
Table 1 shows the measured OD values as a result of the color density and heat resistance test. The higher the OD value of the color development part, the higher the color density. The higher the OD value of the uncolored part after the heat test, the more severe the background fog and the greater the coloration. The larger the OD value of the part, the higher the density and the less the decoloring.
[0048]
[Table 1]
[0049]
From the results shown in Table 1, the heat-sensitive recording sheets obtained in Examples 1 and 2 of the present invention had less background fog as compared with Comparative Examples 1 to 7, and the background fog under high temperature conditions was particularly good. In Example 2, the fading resistance was improved. In Comparative Example 1, since the leuco dye was changed, background fogging occurred. In Comparative Example 2, since the developer was changed, a sufficient synergistic effect was not obtained although the leuco dye recommended in the present invention was used, and background fogging occurred. In Comparative Example 3, since the sensitizer was changed, background fogging occurred under severe high temperature conditions of 90 to 100 ° C. In Comparative Example 4, since the coating amount of the heat-sensitive recording layer coating liquid was increased, background fogging tends to occur. Comparative Example 5 is not practical because the recording density is thin because the coating amount of the thermal recording layer coating liquid is reduced. In Comparative Example 6, since the developer was reduced, the recording density was thin and not practical. In Comparative Example 7, since the amount of the sensitizer was increased, background fogging occurred under a severe high temperature condition of 90 to 100 ° C.
[0050]
【The invention's effect】
According to the first aspect of the present invention, the heat-sensitive recording layer is formed with a specific leuco dye, a specific developer and a specific sensitizer at a predetermined ratio, and a predetermined amount of coating is performed, whereby a high color density and a high temperature are achieved. It was possible to provide a heat-sensitive recording sheet that has excellent background fog resistance even when exposed to conditions for a long time and does not use excessive raw materials.
[0051]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the color density when a heating block at 100 ° C. is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds and the color density when the heating block at 150 ° C. is pressed at 800 g / cm 2 for 5 seconds. Since the OD value was controlled, a heat-sensitive recording sheet with little background fogging could be provided even when exposed to high temperatures for a long time.
[0052]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, a thermal recording sheet having a more excellent fading resistance in the first aspect of the invention can be provided by further containing a predetermined storage stabilizer in the thermal recording layer.
