Description
The present invention relates to a hologram recording / reproducing apparatus that records data on a hologram recording medium and reproduces the data recorded on the hologram recording medium.
One method for recording data on a hologram recording medium is a method called multiple recording. By making the incident angle of the reference laser light incident on the hologram recording medium variable and changing the pitch and direction of the interference fringes, a plurality of hologram data is recorded in one place. As a hologram recording apparatus that performs multiplex recording, for example, an apparatus using a light source that emits pulsed laser light having a constant output and a constant period is disclosed (for example, see Patent Document 1). According to this apparatus, since the output of the laser light applied to the hologram recording medium is turned on and off by the light source, it is not necessary to use a light-shielding shutter such as a mechanical shutter, vibration in the apparatus can be suppressed, and Accurate recording can be performed.
However, if a pulsed laser light source with a constant output and a constant period is used, the output of the light source cannot be changed, and the irradiation time cannot be changed. Therefore, there is a problem that schedule recording cannot be performed, the diffraction efficiency of the multiplexed hologram data varies, and a stable signal cannot be obtained during reproduction.
In view of the circumstances as described above, an object of the present invention is to perform hologram recording that can perform schedule recording at the time of multiplex recording, can obtain a stable signal during reproduction, and can be recorded and reproduced at high speed. To provide a playback device .
A hologram recording / reproducing apparatus according to a main aspect of the present invention is a hologram recording / reproducing apparatus that records or reproduces data by irradiating a hologram recording medium with laser light, and is provided on an optical path of the laser light. An optical element capable of transmitting or blocking the laser beam to the recording medium, and an incident angle of the laser beam irradiating the hologram recording medium as reference light or reproduction illumination light is variable. First control means for controlling to output a signal in accordance with the output, and second control means for controlling the timing of light transmission and light shielding of the optical element based on the output signal. Features.
According to the present invention, the timing at which data is recorded on the hologram recording medium can be adjusted by controlling the incident angle of the laser light applied to the hologram recording medium and the light transmission and light shielding in synchronization. Thereby, schedule recording can be performed even if the intensity of the laser light emitted from the laser light source remains constant. In addition, a stable signal can be obtained when reproducing the data recorded in this way.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the optical element is an acousto-optic element. Since the acoustooptic device responds quickly to the light shielding / transmission control signal, the timing for recording data on the hologram recording medium can be adjusted more precisely and at high speed.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the first control unit includes a unit that adjusts an incident angle of the reference laser beam to a predetermined value in advance. Here, the “predetermined value” refers to a fixed initial value (hologram recording start incident angle). Since data is recorded on or reproduced from the hologram recording medium while changing the incident angle of the reference laser beam, it is necessary to accurately control the magnitude of the reference incident angle. In the present invention, when recording or reproducing is performed, the incident angle of the reference laser beam is once adjusted to the origin and is always varied from the hologram recording start incident angle, whereby the incident angle can be accurately controlled.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the first control unit outputs an encoder pulse signal as the signal. If the encoder pulse signal is output according to the variable angle, for example, the number of pulses of the encoder pulse signal can be counted, and the optical element can be controlled based on the count value.
According to one aspect of the present invention, the second control means includes means for receiving the encoder pulse signal, means for counting the number of pulses of the received encoder pulse signal, and the number of pulses is a predetermined value. And a means for outputting a control signal to the optical element when reaching the above. Here, the “predetermined value” is, for example, the number of encoder pulse signals counted to be required for recording each hologram. Thereby, since a recording schedule can be created quantitatively, highly accurate recording is possible.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the second control means includes a means for measuring a time during which the optical element is in a state of transmitting the laser light, and the time has reached a predetermined value. And a means for controlling the optical element so as to block the laser beam. The “predetermined value” can be set in advance according to the type, nature, etc. of the hologram recording medium. Thereby, since the irradiation time which irradiates a laser beam to a hologram recording medium can be adjusted, while being able to have a width | variety in the aspect of schedule recording, precise schedule recording is attained.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the second control means has means for multiplying the encoder pulse signal. Thereby, the number of pulses of the encoder pulse signal can be counted with high accuracy.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the second control means is capable of adjusting the intensity of laser light that is transmitted through the optical element. Thereby, in addition to the timing of the laser beam applied to the hologram recording medium, the intensity can be controlled, so that the schedule recording mode can be widened.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the apparatus further includes a storage unit that stores a recording position of data recorded on the hologram recording medium. Since the position of the data recorded on the hologram recording medium can be grasped, the data to be reproduced can be easily accessed, and the reproduction can be performed quickly and accurately. Even if the hologram recording medium is contracted, the position of the data can be grasped by correcting.
According to an aspect of the present invention, the apparatus further includes means for moving the hologram recording medium and adjusting an irradiation position of the laser beam. Thereby, since data can be recorded over the entire hologram recording medium, a large amount of data can be recorded.
A hologram recording / reproducing apparatus according to another aspect of the present invention is a hologram recording / reproducing apparatus that records or reproduces data by irradiating a hologram recording medium with laser light, and a schedule for recording or reproducing the data Creating means, an acousto-optic element provided on the optical path of the laser light irradiated on the hologram recording medium, and capable of transmitting or blocking the laser light, and a schedule created by the creating means And a control means for controlling the timing of light transmission and light shielding of the acousto-optic element.
According to the present invention, light transmission and light shielding can be performed using an acoustooptic device, so that schedule recording can be performed even when the intensity of the laser light emitted from the laser light source remains constant. In addition, since the light transmission / light shielding can be quickly switched by the acoustooptic device, it is possible to sufficiently adjust even a schedule in which the light transmission / light shielding is switched at a minute timing. As a result, precise schedule recording becomes possible, and a large amount of data can be recorded.
A hologram recording / reproducing method according to another aspect of the present invention is a hologram recording / reproducing method for recording or reproducing data by irradiating a laser beam on a hologram recording medium, wherein (a) the hologram recording medium has reference light or An incident angle of the laser light irradiated as the reproduction illumination light is variable, and a step of outputting a signal according to the incident angle; and (b) controlling the timing based on the output signal while controlling the timing of the laser light. And irradiating the hologram recording medium.
According to the present invention, the timing at which data is recorded on the hologram recording medium can be adjusted by controlling the timing of the signal in synchronization with the timing at which the hologram recording medium is irradiated with the laser beam. Can be reproduced accurately. As a result, schedule recording can be reliably performed, and a stable signal can be obtained even when data recorded in this way is reproduced.

The
Step 802 is a step of aligning the position of the hologram recording medium M. When the
Step 803 is a step of multiplex-recording holograms on the hologram recording medium M. This will be described in detail with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.
When the alignment of the hologram recording medium M is completed, the
The
When the AOM 5 is turned on, the laser light passes through the
The
The
When one hologram is recorded, the
Step 804 is a step of further determining whether or not holograms have been recorded for all pages of the hologram recording medium M. If it is determined that all pages have not been recorded, the above step 802 (positioning process) and step 803 (multiple recording process) are repeated.
Step 805 is a step in which the
This is the end of the recording process.
In this recording process, for example, when recording is performed according to the recording schedules [1], [2], and [3], the timing and intensity of signals are as shown in FIGS. 10, 11, and 12, respectively. In each figure, the horizontal axis indicates the passage of time, the vertical axis indicates the intensity. From the top, (a) the output of the encoder pulse from the
Comparing the figures, there is no difference in the output timings of (a), (b) and (c). As for the output of (d), the recording schedule [1] is output at the same timing (T EX ) for each recording, and the recording schedules [2] and [3] have a longer timing until output as recording later in time. (T 1 , T 2 , T 3 ). This reflects the irradiation time of the laser beam in the recording schedule. As for the output of (e), in the recording schedule [2], the same output voltage (V EX ) is output for each recording, and in the recording schedules [1] and [3], the output voltage increases as recording is later in time. It is larger (V 1, V 2, V 3). This reflects the intensity of the laser beam in the recording schedule. In the above case, the output of the laser beam that has passed through the AOM 5 in all the recording schedules [1], [2], and [3] increases as the recording is performed later (P 1 , P 2 , P 3). ). For this reason, if you want to increase the intensity of irradiation light as the recording is performed later, it is possible to create a recording schedule by changing the intensity of the laser light, and it is also possible to create a recording schedule by changing the irradiation time It turns out that it is. Therefore, it can be seen that a recording schedule can be flexibly created according to the type and nature of the hologram recording medium M.
Next, an operation when data recorded on the hologram recording medium M is reproduced by the hologram recording / reproducing
FIG. 13 is a flowchart showing an operation process during reproduction of the hologram recording / reproducing
The operation process at the time of reproduction includes steps 1301 to 1306. Before reproduction, the hologram recording medium M is irradiated with incoherent light, and unreacted monomers that are insufficiently recorded are changed to polymers (post-exposure).
Step 1301 is a step of starting up the hologram recording / reproducing
Step 1303 is a step of reading data recorded on the hologram recording medium M. This will be described in detail with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.
When the alignment of the hologram recording medium M is completed, the
The
When the AOM 5 is turned on, the laser light passes through the
The
The
The
The
Step 1304 is a step of determining whether or not all holograms recorded on the hologram recording medium M have been reproduced. If it is determined that the recording has not been performed yet, the above-described step 1302 (positioning process) and step 1303 (multiple recording process) are repeated.
Step 1305 is a step of processing the reproduction data signal stored in the memory by closing the
Step 1306 is a step of restoring the original data using the signal processing result of step 1305, calculating an error rate, displaying the restored data, and the like.
This is the end of the regeneration process.
In this reproduction process, reproduction was performed according to a reproduction schedule as shown in FIG. The horizontal axis represents playback time, and the vertical axis represents signal strength. The columns (a) to (f) in FIG. 15 are the same as those in FIGS. 10 to 12. The bottom column shows (g)
As described above, according to the present embodiment, the timing at which data is recorded on the hologram recording medium M by controlling the incident angle of the laser beam applied to the hologram recording medium M and the light transmission and light shielding in synchronization. The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above, and various modifications are possible.

In the present embodiment, the description has been focused on the case of angle multiplexing in the recording / reproducing operation process. However, even in the case of shift multiplexing in which the hologram recording medium M itself is shifted, the same process can be performed. it can.
In the present embodiment, the recording schedule in which the output of the laser beam is increased as the number of recording times increases is described as an example. However, depending on the type of the hologram recording medium M, conversely, as the number of recording times increases, the laser is increased. In some cases, it is better to perform recording with a recording schedule that reduces the light output. The present invention can of course be applied to any schedule recording.
