Description

The present invention relates to an envelope for a printer configured to eliminate printing unevenness in a transfer process and a fixing process at the time of destination printing by a printer, or to eliminate generation of wrinkles in the fixing process so that the destination portion can be printed with good quality. The present invention relates to a printing method .

In recent years, electrophotographic printers have become mainstream printers because of their high speed, high resolution, and high quality. For this reason, the recording medium of this electrophotographic printer is required to print on all kinds of media such as plain paper, recycled paper, these thick paper, thin paper, and special media such as label paper, OHP, and envelopes.

In particular, the thickness of the envelope is different between the margin part and other parts, so in an electrophotographic printer that transfers the toner image on the photosensitive drum onto the envelope, the electric field strength differs between the thick part and the thin part. In addition, the electrostatic transfer force is not uniform, and the toner is transferred thinly at the thick margin portion, resulting in printing unevenness.

In addition, since the envelope partly differs in thickness due to the presence of adhesive margin, wrinkles often occur in the fixing process in which the toner image is thermally fixed with a strong pressure.

For this reason, an improvement in print quality when printing on an envelope is strongly desired by users.

As shown in FIG. 5B, the conventional envelope includes an address writing unit 20-0, a bottom folding unit 20-1, a lid folding unit 20-2, a first folding side unit 20-3, and a second folding side. For example, the second folded side portion 20-4 is folded to the address writing portion 20-0 side, and then the first folded side portion 20-3 is moved to the address writing portion 20-0 side. Then, the bottom folding portion 20-1 is folded to the address writing portion 20-0 side. At this time, the overlapping portion of the first folded side portion 20-3 and the second folded side portion 20-4 shown in FIG. 5 (A) is bonded as a margin, and the bottom folded portion 20-1 is bonded as a margin, An envelope 20 is created. Then, the address is entered in the envelope 20, and a document or the like is put in the envelope 20, and then the lid folding portion 20-2 is folded back to the first folding side portion 20-3 and the second folding side portion 20-4. Glue.

As shown in FIG. 5 (A), the conventional envelope is 4 sheets because the A part overlaps two sheets, the B part and C part overlap three sheets, and the D part overlaps two adhesive allowances as shown in FIG. It is layered. Thus, the thickness was partially different.

FIG. 8 shows a process configuration of the electrophotographic printer 30. The electrophotographic printer 30 uniformly charges a photosensitive drum 31 such as an organic photosensitive drum by a charging means 35 (a charging roller in FIG. 8) such as a charging roller or a corona charger, and then the charged photosensitive drum 31. By exposing characters, images and the like by an image exposure unit 36 such as a semiconductor laser optical system or a light emitting diode array, an electrostatic latent image is formed on the photosensitive drum 31.

The electrostatic latent image is developed by the developing unit 37 by a two-component developing method or a one-component developing method, and a toner is attached to the latent image to make it appear to form a toner image. This toner image on the photosensitive drum 31 is electrostatically transferred to a recording medium 38 such as a sheet by a transfer means 32 (transfer roller in FIG. 8) such as a corona discharger or a transfer roller, and this toner image is then transferred to a halogen lamp or the like. A heat roller type fixing device 33 composed of heating means and a backup roller 34 are heated and pressed to adhere to the recording medium 38 and fixed, and printing is finished. Note that the toner remaining on the photosensitive drum 31 after the transfer step is removed by the drum cleaner 39.

By the way, in order to achieve good print quality on the recording medium, it is necessary to bring the recording medium 38 into close contact with the photosensitive drum 31 in the transfer process in order to prevent the uneven printing density.

However, since the conventional envelope is not uniform in thickness as shown in FIG. 5, there is a portion where the contact between the photosensitive drum 31 and the envelope 20 is not intimately contacted as shown in the round portion of FIG. That is, since the surface of the transfer roller 32 is made of conductive rubber, when the envelope is used, the surface of the transfer roller 32 has a step-like deformed portion, and the pressure of the transfer roller 32 in the overlapping portion of the envelope is uneven. Thus, the pressure is weakened at the edge of the overlapping portion of the envelope, the contact is insufficient, and the transferred image becomes thin.

Further, when a corona discharger is used as the transfer means, the electric field is weakened according to the thickness of the overlapping portion of the envelope, and the transferred image of the overlapping portion becomes thin.

For this reason, there is a portion that is not printed due to uneven printing density or blurring in the transfer process, and printing with good quality cannot be performed.

The fixing process shown in FIG. 7 is generally performed by a heat roller 33 including a heating unit such as a halogen lamp and a backup roller 34 made of an elastic body and pressed by springs at both ends. The recording medium passes between the high pressure heat roller 33 and the backup roller 34 to fix the toner image. At this time, in the conventional envelope having a partially different thickness as shown in FIG. 5, when passing between the high pressure rollers, wrinkles are generated in the different thickness, and the printing quality of the address portion is poor. It was often.

For this reason, as a conventional electrophotographic printer envelope, the adjacent adhesive margin pieces and the adjacent adhesive margin pieces and the envelope lid portion do not overlap, and the difference in thickness is less than two sheets of the thickest sheet. Have been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-41002 (FIG. 1)

Even in the envelope described in Patent Document 1, there is a step in the thickness of the sheet constituting the envelope in the peripheral portion of the envelope, and the print quality of the image in the peripheral portion cannot be improved.

Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an envelope for a printer that is configured such that there is no level difference in the peripheral portion of the envelope and enables printing with good print quality on the entire surface of the envelope.

In order to solve the above problems, the present invention provides an envelope for a printer having the following configurations (1) and (2).

(1) An envelope for a printer that performs address entry or shipping origin entry with a printer, comprising an envelope body and an adhesive margin of the same size as an envelope for configuring the envelope body in a bag shape, The envelope main body is provided with a plurality of folded portions that are folded back to the side opposite to the address entry surface, have end portions that closely face each other and do not overlap each other, and the folded portions are bonded to the paste margin portion It is characterized by having a bag-like sealed configuration.

(2) The envelope for a printer according to (1), wherein the fitting portion of the folded portion on both sides of the envelope main body is arranged to be shifted to the left or right from the central portion of the envelope. To do.

(1) In the printer envelope of the present invention, the folded portion is not overlapped, and the thickness of the envelope is made uniform by making the entire surface of the envelope glued with another sheet. Printing density unevenness due to uneven transfer does not occur. In the fixing process, since there is no step when passing between the high-pressure heat roller and the backup roller, the pressure is applied uniformly, so that generation of wrinkles can be suppressed.

(2) Since the folded back part is moved to either the left or right side, the joint part is not in the central part, which is the print area, so that even if a large gap occurs for some reason, poor quality characters are generated. The possibility can be suppressed.

The best mode for carrying out the invention is described in Example 1 below.

A first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1A and 1B show the structure of a printer envelope according to a first embodiment of the present invention, in which FIG. 1A is an exploded explanatory view, FIG. 1B is a completed view, FIG. 2 is a transfer state explanatory view, and FIG. It is explanatory drawing.

In the figure, 1 is an envelope body part, 1-0 is an address writing part, 1-1 is a first folding side part, 1-2 is a second folding side part, 1-3 is a bottom folding part, and 1-4 is a lid. Folding unit, 2 is a margin paper, 3 is an envelope for a printer of the present invention, 4 is a photosensitive drum, 5 is a transfer roller, 6 is a heat roller, 7 is a backup roller, and 8 is a pressure spring.

An envelope 3 for a printer according to the present invention includes an envelope body 1 and glue margin paper 2 as shown in FIG. The envelope body 1 includes an address writing unit 1-0, a first folding side unit 1-1, a second folding side unit 1-2, a bottom folding unit 1-3, and a lid folding unit 1-4. The For example, the first folded side portion 1-1 of the envelope main body 1 is folded back from the dotted line position to the address writing portion 1-0 side as shown by the arrow, and then the second folded side portion 1-2 is As shown by the arrow, it is folded back from the dotted line position to the address writing section 1-0 side. Thus, when the 1st return side part 1-1 and the 2nd return side part 1-2 are returned, the edge a of the 1st return side part 1-1 and the edge b of the 2nd return side part 1-2 The widths l 1 and l 2 are determined so as to face each other in close contact with each other without leaving a gap of, for example, about 0.3 to 0.5 mm. Ideally, there should be no gap, but it is impossible to abut the edges without creating a gap, and if this gap is too wide, the glue applied to the paste margin paper 2 will be inside the envelope. It sticks and cannot be used as an envelope.

Then, the bottom turn-up part 1-3 is turned back from the dotted line position to the address writing part 1-0 side as shown by the arrow. When the first folded side part 1-1 and the second folded side part 1-2 are folded as described above, the first folded side part 1-1 and the second folded side part 1-2 are The edges C-0 and C-1 are positioned so that the trapezoidal bottom folded portion 1-3 faces the close contact state as described above in a state where the glue of the glue margin paper 2 does not adhere to the inside of the envelope. Is formed.

Accordingly, the first folded side portion 1-1, the second folded side portion 1-2, and the bottom folded portion 1-3 are folded from the dotted line positions as shown by arrows in FIG. After the formation, the paste margin paper 2 having the same size as that of the address writing portion 1-0 and having the glue applied to the entire surface is pasted on the entire folded portion. As a result, as shown in FIG. 1B, an envelope 3 suitable for a printer having a uniform three-layer thickness is completed.

It should be noted that the width is not formed on the opposing edge portions of the first folded side portion 1-1, the second folded side portion 1-2, and the bottom folded portion 1-3 without applying the paste to the paste margin sheet entirely. It is also possible to use paste margin paper in which a 2-5 mm non-glue portion is provided and glue is applied. In this case, the gaps of the folded portions are not considered considering that the glue adheres to the inside of the envelope, and it is only necessary to correspond to the point where no step is generated. Therefore, the gaps are made a little wider than the 0.3 to 0.5 mm. It becomes possible.

When transferring an envelope having a uniform thickness according to the present invention, there is no step in the envelope 3 positioned between the photosensitive drum 4 and the transfer roller 5 as shown in FIG. 2, so that the envelope is uniform with the photosensitive drum in the transfer process. The print density unevenness due to the transfer unevenness did not occur.

As shown in FIG. 3, also in the fixing process, when the envelope 3 of the present invention passes between the high-pressure heat roller 6 and the backup roller 7 by the pressurizing spring 8, the envelope 3 has a uniform thickness, so that the envelope 3 There was no wrinkle because the pressure was applied uniformly. In FIG. 3, a heater 6-1 is provided inside the heat roller 6.

A second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. In FIG. 4, reference numeral 10 denotes an envelope body, which includes an address writing part 10-0, a first folding side part 10-1, a second folding side part 10-2, a bottom folding part 10-3, and a lid folding part 10-4. Have 11 is an adhesive sheet, and 12 is an envelope according to the second embodiment of the present invention. The close facing position d may be moved to the left side. Thus, the widths l 1 and l 2 are set to different sizes in order to be shifted to the right or left. The second embodiment is the same as the first embodiment except that the closely facing position d of the first folded side portion 10-1 and the second folded side portion 10-2 is moved to the right side or the left side. Detailed description is omitted.

As a result, there is no seam that is in close contact with the center of the print area, so that it is possible to suppress the possibility of poor quality characters even if a large gap occurs at the seam for some reason when manufacturing envelopes. .

In the above description, the electrophotographic printer is described as the printer. However, the present invention is of course not limited to this, and can be used for other types such as an ink jet printer and a dot printer thermal transfer printer. .
