【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image display system that enables a projected image of a projector to be clearly and clearly seen under bright light, an optical film effective for the image display system, and the like, and a method for manufacturing the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, overhead projectors and slide projectors have been widely used as methods for presenting materials by speakers in meetings and the like. In general households, video projectors and moving picture film projectors using liquid crystals are becoming popular.
[0003]
As this type of projector, for example, an illumination optical system that separates light beams emitted from a light source into light beams of each color of red (R), green (G), and blue (B) and converges them on a predetermined optical path, and RGB A liquid crystal panel (light valve) that light-modulates each color beam and a light combining unit that combines the light-modulated RGB color beams, and enlarges and projects the color image combined by the light combining unit onto the screen using a projection lens. There is something.
[0004]
Recently, a narrow band three primary color light source, such as a laser oscillator that emits narrow band light of each RGB color, is used as a light source, and a luminous light valve (GLV: Grating Light Valve) is used instead of a liquid crystal panel. Spatial modulation projectors have also been developed.
[0005]
In contrast to such projectors, screens for displaying projected images are roughly classified into transmission types and reflection types. The transmissive screen transmits image light emitted from a projector behind the screen (rear projector) so that a projected image can be seen by the transmitted light. The reflective screen is a projector (front projector) The image light emitted from the front projector) is reflected so that the projected image can be seen by the reflected light.
[0006]
As the reflection type screen, a bead screen or a white screen that reflects and scatters image light from a projector is used. However, such a screen reflects light other than image light, that is, external light. Since the black level (black video brightness) increases with the level, only images with low contrast (= white level / black level) can be displayed under bright light with high external light level, and the room must be darkened. . On the other hand, a screen has been proposed that improves the contrast performance in the presence of external light by providing a light absorbing layer that reduces the light incident on and reflected by the screen to reduce the black level (for example, , See Patent Document 1).
[0007]
[Patent Document 1]
Japanese Patent No. 3103802
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the configuration in which the light absorption layer is provided in front of the reflection layer as described above, not only external light but also image light is reduced by the light absorption layer, so that the screen gain is lowered and the contrast under bright light is reduced. There was a limit to improvement. For this reason, in order to display a bright and high-contrast image, it has been necessary to use a projector with a large light source power or to darken the room to keep the external light level low.
[0009]
On the other hand, when a projector using, for example, a narrow band three primary color light source is used, a clear image with excellent color reproducibility can be obtained. However, when the light source power of the projector is increased, the power consumption is increased and, for example, in the case of a laser projector, it is necessary to take a safety measure.
[0010]
The present invention has been made in response to the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, and is an image display system capable of displaying a high-contrast and clear projected image on a screen even in an environment where there is strong external light such as sunlight. An object of the present invention is to provide an optical film capable of realizing the image display system and a manufacturing method thereof.

Next, another embodiment of the image display system of the present invention will be described.
The image display system of the above-described embodiment adjusts the spectrum of the external light in the projection environment to further remove noise due to the external light. However, the image light of the projector as described in the embodiment is used. In addition, screens designed to mainly reflect light in the wavelength region absorb much of the external light regardless of whether the spectrum of the external light is adjusted or not, and therefore have a significantly higher contrast than conventional screens. Screen gain can be realized. Here, Table 1 shows the difference in contrast between the screen according to the present invention and the commercially available white screen when the light source power of the projector is reduced. In Table 1, the projector is a GLV projector, the external light is 100 lux with fluorescent light, and the screen gain is 3.2 for the screen according to the present invention and 1.0 for the white screen. .

It is possible to reduce power consumption by using a projector with low light source power, and in the case of a laser projector, the light source power is regulated by “Safety Standards for Laser Products” of “Japanese Industrial Standards”. The safety level can be reduced to
[0072]
As described above, the image display system according to the present embodiment can view a high-contrast image under bright light even with a low light source power projector. It goes without saying that external light noise can be removed by providing a filter optical film in the daylighting section.
[0073]

[0076]
AlsoBy providing the selective reflection film, a screen that can be designed to display a high-contrast image in accordance with the image light of the projection device can be obtained.

[0079]
AlsoBy using a combination of a projector with low light source power and a screen with selective reflection characteristics designed for the wavelength range of image light projected from the projector, high contrast images can be displayed under bright light. In addition, an image display system excellent in safety and convenience can be realized.
[0080]
Further, the selective reflection film of the screen has a high reflection characteristic with respect to the red light, green light and blue light having the specific wavelength, and at least in the visible wavelength region excluding the specific wavelengths of the red light, green light and blue light.
