これらの調整機構にあっては、何れも、一方の手で本体を把持しつつ、他方の手でツマミネジやダイヤルを回転操作する必要があって、常に両手がふさがる格好となる。よって、例えばスケールでビットの突出長さを確認したい場合には、一旦トリマを作業台等に置いて測定するという別個の手順が必要となり、調整操作が面倒となっていた。

請求項2に記載の発明は、請求項1の目的に加えて、ローラを介したベースのスライドをスムーズに行うために、ローラを本体側に向けた前後方向へ微動可能に設けたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施の形態を図面に基づいて説明する。
図1はトリマの正面図、図2は一部を断面で示す左側面図、図3はベースの左側面図で、トリマ1は、下端に設けた四角形状のプレート3に円筒部4を直交状に立設させたベース2と、ベース2の円筒部4に上方から遊挿可能で、内蔵したモータによって回転する回転軸6を下方に突設させた本体5とからなる。又、ベース2のプレート3には、透孔7が穿設されて、本体5を円筒部4に遊挿させた状態で、回転軸6に装着したビットがプレート3を貫通して下方へ突出可能となっており、このビットのプレート3下面からの突出長さが切込み深さとなる。

一方、ベース2の円筒部4には、軸方向へスリット8が形成されると共に、スリット8の両端で正面へ向けて突設された係止部9,9間を係止可能なクランプ10が設けられて、円筒部4に遊挿した本体5を任意の位置で固定可能となっている。又、同じくスリット8の両端で係止部9,9の上方には、正面へ向けて軸支部11,11が突設され、この軸支部11,11間に、中心のピン14を円筒部4の周方向に沿って配置したローラ13が、ピン14を軸支部11,11に穿設された透孔12,12に挿通させることで回動可能に軸支されている。このローラ13は合成樹脂製で、円筒部4への本体5の遊挿状態で本体5にその周面が当接し、ベース2と本体5との相対的なスライドに伴い、本体5上をそのスライド方向へ相対的に転動可能となっている。
又、ここでは、透孔12,12が本体5側へ向けた長円形に形成されていることから、ローラ13は、透孔12,12内でのピン14の可動範囲分だけ本体5に対して前後方向へ微動可能となっている。

特にここでは、ローラ13を軸支する透孔12を長円形に形成し、ローラ13を本体5側に向けた前後方向へ微動可能に設けているから、ローラ13への押圧力をロスなく本体5に伝達可能となり、ローラ13を介したベース2のスライドをスムーズに行うことができる。

請求項3に記載の発明によれば、請求項1の効果に加えて、スリット内で、クランプによる本体の固定解除状態で露出し、本体の固定状態でクランプに覆われる位置設けたことで、本体を握った手で、クランプの解除と、ローラの回転と、クランプの固定操作とが一連の手順で可能となり、切込み深さの調整がより簡単に行える。又、ローラがクランプで隠されることで、ベースに新たな突出部分を増やさずに済み、トリマの操作性や作業性を低下させることもない。
