Description
The present invention relates to an optical pickup apparatus and an optical disk apparatus that are preferably used in an optical disk apparatus mounted on an electronic device such as a personal computer or a notebook computer.
従来、光学記録媒体として、DVD(デジタルバーサティルディスク)、CD−R(書き込み可能なコンパクトディスク)、CD−RW(書き換え可能なコンパクトディスク)等の種々の光ディスクが開発されている。 Conventionally, various optical discs such as DVD (Digital Versatile Disc), CD-R (Writable Compact Disc), CD-RW (Rewritable Compact Disc) have been developed as optical recording media. In a DVD, information is recorded or reproduced by a laser beam having a wavelength of about 650 nm. On the other hand, in CD-R and CD-RW, information is recorded or reproduced by laser light having a wavelength of about 780 nm. An optical disc apparatus that records or reproduces information on a plurality of types of optical discs has been proposed.
Also, in such an optical disk apparatus for recording or reproducing information on a plurality of types of optical disks, a plurality of laser elements having different wavelengths are arranged adjacent to one package (so-called hybrid type two-wavelength semiconductor laser) In addition, a semiconductor laser element (so-called monolithic two-wavelength semiconductor laser) in which light sources having a plurality of wavelengths are integrated on one semiconductor substrate has been proposed. The optical system using these two-wavelength semiconductor lasers can reduce the cost, for example, by sharing the optical components set separately from the optical system using the light source corresponding to each wavelength.
However, in these two-wavelength semiconductor lasers, the distance between the emission points of the two wavelengths is about 110 μm in both the hybrid type and the monolithic type, and the optical axes of the two light sources inevitably shift. For this reason, for example, by using a parallel plate on which a wavelength-selective film is formed, the optical paths of laser beams of two wavelengths are matched [see (Patent Document 1). ]. Alternatively, the arrangement of the two-wavelength semiconductor lasers is devised, and the optical system is configured so as to preferentially reduce the aberration of light from the light source that is less likely to achieve a predetermined performance [see (
In recent years, there has been a strong demand for optical disc apparatuses to record as well as reproduce on a DVD and record at a high speed on a CD. In order to perform recording as well as reproduction on a DVD, it is necessary to reduce the diameter of the focused spot on the optical disk, so the optical magnification must be increased. On the other hand, in order to cope with recording at a high speed on a CD, it is necessary to keep the optical magnification low in order to keep the light use efficiency high. However, in the conventional configuration using a two-wavelength semiconductor laser, since the light emitting points are close to each other, it is impossible to achieve both recording as well as reproduction on a DVD and recording at a high speed on a CD. It was.
The present invention solves such a conventional problem, and includes a light source in which a plurality of light emitting points having different wavelengths are provided close to each other, and light from any light emitting point can be recorded and reproduced at high speed. An object of the present invention is to provide an optical pickup device capable of performing both.
In order to solve the conventional problems, an optical pickup device of the present invention includes a first light emitting point that emits light having a first wavelength, and second light emission that emits light having a second wavelength longer than the first wavelength. A light source in which the first light emitting point and the second light emitting point are provided close to each other, light receiving means for receiving the light reflected by the optical disc and generating an electrical signal, the first light emitting point, An optical system for condensing the light respectively emitted from the second light emitting point onto the optical disc and guiding the light reflected by the optical disc to the light receiving means, the optical system having a light transmitting member, and transmitting the light The member includes a surface facing the light source and a surface not facing the light source, a filter is formed on the surface not facing the light source, and the filter is formed on the surface of the light transmission member. Light incident from the light emitting point and the second light emitting point A wavelength selective separation film that reflects each with a different reflectance, and a total reflection film that is formed on a part of the surface of the wavelength selective separation film and totally reflects light incident from the first light emission point and the second light emission point The total reflection film is formed so as to avoid the optical axis of the light emitted from the light source, the light incident on the filter is reflected by the filter to change the light intensity distribution, and the The intensity distribution of the light is different between the first wavelength and the second wavelength, and the surface facing the light emitting point is not parallel to the surface not facing the light emitting point and is shifted from the optical axis of the optical system. The astigmatism of the light emitted from the light emitting point is tilted in a direction to make it smaller than when the surface on which the filter is formed and the surface facing the light emitting point are parallel to each other. The light intensity distribution is changed by reflecting light incident on the filter from the first light emission point and the second light emission point by the filter, and the light intensity distribution is made different between the first wavelength and the second wavelength. Therefore, it is possible to optimize the diameter of the light condensing spot and the light intensity distribution of the light emitted from each light emitting point. Further, by forming a filter on a surface that does not face the light emitting point, it is possible to prevent the wavefront aberration from deteriorating. Further, since the surface facing the light emitting point is not parallel to the surface not facing the light emitting point, interference of light coming out of the light transmitting member can be prevented. Furthermore, the astigmatism of the light emitted from the light emitting point at a position shifted from the optical axis of the optical system is made smaller than when the surface on which the filter is formed and the surface facing the light emitting point are parallel to each other. Astigmatism can be reduced by tilting in the direction.
As described above, the optical pickup device of the present invention can optimize the diameter of the focused spot and the light intensity distribution on the optical disc for each light of each wavelength. Further, it is possible to prevent the wavefront aberration from deteriorating and to prevent interference of light coming out of the light transmitting member. Furthermore, astigmatism can be reduced. For this reason, light from any light emitting point can be recorded and reproduced at high speed.

An optical system that focuses the emitted light onto an optical disk and guides the light reflected by the optical disk to the light receiving means; the optical system includes a light transmitting member; and the light transmitting member includes the light emitting point and the light emitting point. It is composed of an opposing surface and a surface that does not oppose the light emitting point, and the surface that does not oppose the light emitting point is formed with a filter that converts light emitted from each light emitting point into a predetermined light intensity distribution, The surface facing the light emitting point is not parallel to the surface not facing the light emitting point, and the filter is formed with astigmatism of light emitted from the light emitting point at a position shifted from the optical axis of the optical system. Opposite the light emitting point Doo is an optical pickup device characterized by inclined in a direction smaller than that parallel, to a diameter and light intensity distribution of the focused spot on the optical disc with optimum respectively for each light for each wavelength Can do . Further, it is possible to prevent the wavefront aberration from deteriorating and to prevent interference of light coming out of the light transmitting member. Furthermore, astigmatism can be reduced. For this reason, light from any light emitting point can be recorded and reproduced at high speed.

(Embodiment 1)
An optical pickup device according to
First, the configuration will be described. A two-wavelength semiconductor
The
The
The
The rising
The
The front
Next, the optical path will be described. The light emitted from the
In general, if the ratio of the light intensity at the center of the aperture of the
The light incident on the
The
In the first embodiment, the light incident on the
Further, the polarization direction of the light is set so as to pass through the
The light reflected by the
The polarization separation film provided on the
The light emitted from the
At this time, the light incident on the
Further, when passing through the
The light reflected by the
The polarization separation film provided on the
In the first embodiment, the
As described above, in the first embodiment of the present invention, the light intensity distribution of the spots collected on the
(Embodiment 2)
An optical pickup device according to
First, the configuration will be described. In the first embodiment, the
The
The wavelength-selective polarized
The
Next, the optical path will be described. Light emitted from the
The light reflected by the
The
As described above, the same effects as in the first embodiment can be obtained in the second embodiment by adopting the above-described configuration. Further, when the
