Description
The present invention relates to a sheet post-processing apparatus that is a paper folding machine that folds an end surface of a sheet and further folds the end surface of the sheet with the crease in the process of transporting the sheet, and an image forming system using the sheet post-processing apparatus. It relates to the device.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in an electronic copying machine for copying a large-size original such as a drawing original, there are many cases of copying on a large-size copy paper such as A0, A1, etc. When handled in a large format, the storage space becomes large or the handling is inconvenient, so it is usually folded and stored (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 to 3).
However, when the copy sheet is folded manually, it generally takes a considerable amount of time, and the time required for folding the sheet may be several times the time required for copying.
For this reason, there is a paper folding machine in which a paper folding machine is arranged in the discharge path of the copying machine, and for example, a A0 size drawing is folded into a size of A4 size. When a large-size sheet is folded into a small size using such a paper folding machine, if the folded sheet is bound, it is bound to the end surface of the sheet.
In order to prevent such binding of the end face, it is necessary for the operator to manually fold the end face portion of the folded paper, and then to create a file by binding with a staple, punch, or the like. .
However, if the operation of folding the end face portion is performed on all sheets, the burden on the operator increases. For this reason, as described above, an end surface folding device that can automatically fold the end surface of a sheet and reduce the burden on the operator has been proposed.
Further, in the ear folding device of Patent Document 2, a member that protrudes into the paper conveyance path and curves the corner portion of the paper based on the signal of the paper detection member is disposed, and the paper detection signal of the paper detection member By operating a member that bends the corner portion of the paper, the paper is transported by the transport roller device while curving the corner portion of the paper, and the curved portion of the paper corner is inserted between the ear folding rollers. It is disclosed that the ear fold is performed.
Furthermore, the paper folding device of Patent Document 3 is provided with a counter that starts counting when the leading edge of the paper is detected by the paper detection means, and is disposed between the pair of rollers and the driving source thereof, and The control is switched between an ON state in which the rotation from the drive source is transmitted to the pair of rollers and an OFF state in which the rotation from the drive source is not transmitted to the pair of rollers, and the count number after the counter starts counting It is disclosed to provide a clutch that is controlled to be switched from an off state to an on state when reaching a predetermined value.
However, in the case of the conventional method, as in Patent Document 1 and Patent Document 2, when the edge of the sheet is turned up by an up-and-down movable end face folding member and the end face is folded by a pair of folding rollers, Because it enters the nip of the pair of folding rollers from the curved portion of the paper, the paper has poor penetration into the roller nip, and in the case of stiff paper such as thick paper, it escapes, the fold angle of the end face fold varies, and wrinkles In the worst case, a paper jam occurs.
Further, in this case, the folds of the end face folds are weak, and if the folds are overlapped, the sheet becomes thick and the number of stored sheets decreases when filing. Furthermore, since the size and angle of the fold of the end face fold depend on the shape of the end face folding member that scoops up the end face and can be moved up and down, the shape cannot be arbitrarily changed.
Further, in Patent Document 3, there are rollers each provided with a concave groove and a protrusion for making a crease. In this case, when the crease is made on the paper, the folded paper end face hits the crease roller, and the crease Before and after the paper can be bent or folded in reverse.
If this folding is repeated, the number of stored sheets decreases when filing due to thick paper. If the paper enters the nip of the folding roller pair while the paper is bent or folded in the reverse “to” shape, it does not enter the nip of the folding roller pair from the crease, but enters from the front edge of the paper, and the end face folds. May not be made. Further, even if the fold line enters the nip of the pair of folding rollers, curling will occur around the fold line, which hinders subsequent conveyance.
Further, in the case of an end face folding device that sandwiches a creased sheet by a roller having a convex part for folding the end face folding means and a roller provided with an elastic body at a position facing the convex part, the convex part is an elastic body of the roller. Therefore, there is a problem that the roller with the elastic body is deformed with time and the crease becomes insufficient.
Therefore, in view of the above-described circumstances, the object of the present invention is that the end face folding shape does not vary even in the case of stiff paper such as cardboard, and there are no wrinkles, bending folds, paper jams, etc. An object of the present invention is to provide a sheet post-processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus including an end face folding apparatus that is strong and finishes in a thin state even when folded.
In order to solve the above-described problems, the invention according to claim 1 is a sheet conveying unit that conveys a sheet, a first end surface folding unit that folds an end surface of the sheet, and further, the first end surface folding. In the sheet post-processing apparatus having the second end surface folding unit that further folds the end surface of the sheet that has been creased by the unit, the sheet conveying speed of the first end surface folding unit is the same as the sheet conveying speed of the sheet conveying unit and the sheet conveying speed. The sheet post-processing apparatus is characterized in that it is set slower than the sheet conveying speed of the second end face folding means.
According to a second aspect of the present invention, when the first end surface folding means sandwiches a creased sheet between an end surface folding roller having a convex portion and an elastic roller facing the end surface folding roller, a line is formed between the rollers. The sheet post-processing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein a speed difference is provided and a one-way clutch is provided in a drive mechanism of a slow roller.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, the first end surface folding means includes an end surface folding roller having a convex portion where a crease is formed, and an elastic roller facing the convex portion of the end surface folding roller is rotatable. The paper post-processing device according to claim 1, wherein the paper post-processing device is a driven roller.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is provided an image forming apparatus provided with the sheet post-processing apparatus according to any one of the first to third aspects.
According to the present invention, the sheet conveying speed of the first end surface folding unit is set slightly slower than the sheet conveying speed of the sheet conveying unit and the sheet conveying speed of the second end surface folding unit, so that Even if the sheet is transported by the first end face folding means having an axis at an angle, the transport speed is slower than that of the paper transport means having the axis orthogonal to the paper transport direction and the second end face folding means. Is prevented from being pulled in the angular direction of the end-folding fold, and end-face folding is possible without any paper skew, wrinkles, paper jam, or the like.
Further, according to the present invention, the end surface folding means is composed of an end surface folding roller having a convex portion and an end surface folding roller made of an elastic body, so that the position of the elastic roller contacting the convex portion contacts the convex portion. It changes every time. Therefore, the contact position between the elastic body roller and the convex portion is not always a fixed position, so that the uneven deformation of the elastic body roller over time can be prevented.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing a copying apparatus system in which a sheet post-processing apparatus having an end face folding device is provided in the copying apparatus. Since the detailed configuration of the copying apparatus is the same as that of the conventional example, the description is omitted except for the portions necessary for the present invention.

FIG. 7 shows a second embodiment of the end face folding operation of the end face folding device according to the present invention, and is a schematic view showing a state of a standby position for making a crease on the sheet end face. FIG. 8 is a schematic view showing an end face folding operation of the end face folding apparatus according to the second embodiment of FIG.
Next, the end face folding device 2 of the second embodiment will be described with reference to FIGS. The end face folding roller (concave roller) 15 is an
