操作ボタンの上面に文字や絵等の情報を表示する液晶板と該液晶板の駆動回路を構成するICチップを搭載したプリント基板からなる液晶表示装置を操作ボタン内に配設するとともに、該操作ボタンの上下動により電路の開閉を行う接触機構部を配設したスイッチ本体からなる押ボタンスイッチにおいて、
前記駆動回路は両極性の電圧を交互に印加する回路と、電源を切って液晶表示をOFFする際に印加電圧を0Vとするリセット信号を発生する回路を前記ICチップに設けるとともに、前記液晶板を反強誘電性液晶パネルとし、その下方に複数色からなるバックライト光源を順番に且つ高速に点灯させ、その点灯に同期させてバックライト各色用のそれぞれ異なる表示内容の液晶画面を表示してマルチカラー表示を可能とした液晶表示付き押ボタンスイッチ。
