底辺が円形の丸底袋をポリエチレン等のフィルムで作るのは、平面だけでは出来ないので、本出願人は特許第1458880号において、チューブの端部又は巾着袋の底部を絞って針金等で固定し、それを円形テーブルのような作業台に被せ、絞りの塊の周囲を灼き切りながら、前後して裏表に円形のフィルムをシールして丸底にしていた。

風船では、塩化ビニールでは6面や8面の型紙に合わせた切片を高周波ミシン等でシールし、生地に伸びがあるので綺麗な球形が作れたが、手間が掛かり高価であったし、ポリエチレンではそのような細かい作業が出来ないので、単に2枚の重なったフィルムを円形にシールするものであった。それらに飽きたらない本出願人は、実用新案第2020593号において、二つ折りにしたチューブの端部を全幅シールして球形を作った。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
特許第1458880号による丸底袋は底の中心を絞ったり、円形テーブルに被せてシールしたりと立体的な作業が多く、非常に手間の掛かるものであった。従って綺麗な袋ではあったが、その加工単価の高さから、利用が限られてしまった。

図1は本発明を透明なポリエチレンチューブの一端に応用した丸底袋1の、底部2の見える位置からの斜視図である。製法は図2の斜視図のようにインフレーション製法による原反の、長さ方向に垂直に適当な長さで切断したチューブ3の一端を、切断面に沿ってシール4した後、図3の斜視図のように長さ方向の中心線5で二つ折りにして、次いで図4の斜視図のようにそのシール4の上を、中心線側は避けて、その先の隅6までの残り半分を更にシールして、四枚重ねシール7とするのである。
