Description

【0001】

[Technical field to which the invention belongs]
The present invention relates to a method of pulverizing a golf ball that is no longer needed and sorting and collecting each used material, and a golf ball manufactured using the collected powder material.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, a used golf ball constituted by a core and a cover of different materials or a defective golf ball generated in a manufacturing process has been subjected to a landfill process after being pulverized and incinerated.
Most of the golf balls used today are of a solid type with a hard rubber spherical core in the center and a resin cover on the outside, but this type of golf ball separates the cover from the core. Therefore, the golf balls were crushed and incinerated and reclaimed as described above.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Since high-calorie materials are used for both the core and cover parts prior to landfilling, especially incineration, the incinerator is severely damaged, so there are significant cost problems, as well as during combustion and after ash landfill by combustion. The impact on the environment could not be ignored.
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and pulverizes unnecessary golf balls such as used golf balls and defective golf balls generated in the manufacturing process, and sorts and collects them for each material, and An object of the present invention is to provide a golf ball manufactured using the recovered powder material.
[0004]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In reusing a used golf ball having a core formed of a polybutadiene rubber material and a cover formed of an ionomer resin material, the present invention pulverizes the entire golf ball to obtain a 0.5 to 4 mm sieve. The polybutadiene rubber material passing through the sieve screen and the ionomer resin material remaining on the sieve are separated and collected, and the powder rubber of the polybutadiene rubber material is the same as the polybutadiene rubber material up to 30% by weight of the entire core. a rubber core formed by blending the polybutadiene rubber, a powdered resin of the ionomer resin material within the limit of 15% by weight of the total cover, made of resin formed by blending the ionomer resin of said ionomer resin material of the same kind A golf ball comprising a cover is provided.
[0005]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
When the inventor applied the entire solid golf ball to a commercially available crusher such as a plastic crusher JC-5 manufactured by Morita Seiki Co., Ltd., and examined the crushing result in detail, It was found that the rubbery core portion was pulverized into fine particles of approximately 1 mm or less, while the resin cover portion was relatively large in pulverized particles. Then, it was found that complete collection by material can be performed by passing the pulverized material of a medium size in which both are present on a sieve having a predetermined size. If sorting by material is achieved, reuse becomes possible.
[0006]
As for the sieve used in the present invention, an eye size of 0.5 to 4 mm is appropriate.
Moreover, it is preferable to use a plurality of types of sieves whose eye size is within the above numerical range. The reason for this is that when the entire solid golf ball is crushed, the hard rubber core becomes smaller particles than the resin cover, as described above. Therefore, most of the larger eye sieve as well as the smaller eye sieve pass, while the resin cover becomes relatively large particles and therefore remains on the larger eye sieve. There is a tendency for a small amount of core particles and a relatively large amount of cover particles to remain on the smaller screen of the eye. It can be completely separated from the cover particles remaining on the sieve. Therefore, after investigating the properties of the materials used for the golf ball in advance, if the ball is pulverized to a predetermined size or less, the core particles and the cover particles are completely separated even if one eye size is used. Can be sorted. However, when a plurality of types of sieves having different eye sizes are used, it is possible to sort more easily and accurately as described above.
[0007]
The core powder and the cover powder selected and collected in this way can be manufactured at a cost without sacrificing performance by blending a predetermined amount with the original material when manufacturing a golf ball having a similar structure using a similar material. An advantageous golf ball can be obtained.
[0008]
That is, the core portion can be formed by blending powder rubber with a similar original rubber up to 30% of the entire core (70% of the original rubber). The reason is that when it exceeds 30%, the workability of the kneading deteriorates.
On the other hand, the cover portion can be formed by blending a powder resin up to 15% of the entire cover with respect to a similar original resin. If it exceeds 15%, undesired coloring or discoloration may occur in the product, which is not preferable.
[0009]
【Example】
This will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is a side view of a crushing and sorting apparatus suitable for carrying out the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a sectional view of a golf ball.
In FIG. 1, the pulverizing apparatus 1 is connected to a sorting apparatus 3 by a transfer means (tube) 2. In the pulverizing apparatus 1, the charging unit 4 for charging the golf ball a, the pulverizing means 5 (rotor), and the pulverized material receiver 6 are connected in the vertical direction, and unnecessary golf balls such as used golf balls are placed in the charging unit 4 of the pulverizing apparatus. A predetermined amount is supplied. The supplied golf ball a is pulverized as a whole by the pulverizing means 5, and when the set particle size, for example, the diameter is set to 5 mm or less, the pulverized product is transferred to the transfer means when the maximum particle diameter is reduced to 5 mm or less. 2 are sequentially or simultaneously sent to the sorting device 3.
[0010]
The sorting device 3 includes a crushed material receiver 7, a sieving unit 8 and a stacking unit 9, 10 that are connected in the vertical direction. The crushed material that has been fed into the pulverized material receiver 7 is passed through the sieving unit 8 and sieved. The particles of the fine core b that have passed through are accumulated in the accumulating portion 9 disposed immediately below, while the particles of the relatively large cover c remaining on the sieve are accumulated in another accumulating portion 10 through a side path. Is done.
[0011]
However, for a solid type golf ball, there is usually a soft core if there is a very hard core, and the same applies to the cover. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the size of the sieve mesh depending on the physical properties such as the hardness of the material used. However, the size of multiple types of eyes, for example, those with a diameter of about 3 mm and those with a diameter of about 1 mm are used. In this case, the object of the present invention can be achieved efficiently and accurately.
[0012]
In other words, golf balls pulverized to a particle size of 5 mm or less are actually crushed to a particle size of 1 mm or less, while the resin cover portion is pulverized to a particle size of 1 mm or more, mostly 3 mm. It is pulverized to the above size. For this reason, only the cover particles remain on the 3 mm diameter sieve and all the core particles pass through the 3 mm eyes. For the 1 mm sieve, most of the core particles pass and some remain. Further, the cover particles that have passed through the 3 mm sieve remain.
[0013]
The core and cover mixed particles remaining on the 1 mm sieve are applied to the sieve selected from the 1.2 to 2.8 mm mesh, more preferably by appropriately selecting a sieve having a size of 1 to 3 mm. Therefore, the core particles and the cover particles can be completely selected.
As for the shape of the sieve mesh, the one using the sorting device 3 shown in FIG. 1 is circular. However, the present invention is not limited to the circular shape, and it is needless to say that a sieve having a polygonal shape such as a square mesh can be used. In this case, regarding the size of the eyes, the diameter in the case of a circular eye is read as the length of the side.
[0014]
The selective collection experiment conducted by the inventor will be described below.
In the experiment, 200 two-piece solid golf balls a were prepared. These balls include a core b having a radius of 19.35 mm using 1.4-cis-polybutadiene as a base rubber and a cover c made of ionomer resin and having a thickness of 2 mm.
[0015]
Referring to FIG. 1, the grinding device 1 was adjusted so that the powder particle diameter was 5 mm or less in ball grinding. In the sieve unit 8 of the sorting device 3, three types of sieves having an eye diameter of 5 mm, 3 mm and 1 mm were used. Core powder particles that have passed through the respective sieves are accumulated in the accumulation unit 9, and cover powder particles are accumulated on the accumulation unit 10 on the sieves.
[0016]
The results of sorting and collection are as shown in Table 1.
Table 1
Figure 0004420146
[0017]
That is, all the core powder particles and the cover powder particles passed through the first sieve having a diameter of 5 mm, as a matter of course, by adjusting the grinding device, and the residue on the sieve was zero.
With respect to the second sieve having a diameter of 3 mm, all the core powder passed through and only 1250 g of the cover powder particles remained.
With respect to the third sieve having a diameter of 1 mm, 7100 g of the core powder particles passed through, and the passage of the cover powder particles was zero. On this sieve, 15 g of core powder and 580 g of cover powder particles remained.
[0018]
As a result of conducting various selection experiments on the mixed powder particles of the core and cover on the third sieve using a sieve having a diameter in the range of 1.2 to 2.8 mm, by using a sieve of 1.2 mm eyes, The core powder particles and 580 g cover powder particles could be completely separated.
[0019]
Table 2 shows the details of the golf ball a (200) core b compounding agent and cover c material used for material selection by pulverization as described above.
Table 2
Figure 0004420146
In Table 2, BR01 manufactured by JSR is used as the 1.4-cis-polybutadiene, and HiMilan 1706 is an ethylene-methacrylic acid copolymer sodium ion neutralized ionomer resin manufactured by Mitsui DuPont Polychemical.
[0020]
Three golf ball embodiments in which a predetermined amount of powder material is blended with the same core composition as the golf ball subjected to material selection by pulverization and the same material as the cover material, that is, the original material having the blending contents shown in Table 2 Between (Examples 1, 2 and 3) and Comparative Example 1 using only the original material, the kneading workability of the material and the outer diameter, weight and hardness of the ball were measured. It shows. Similarly, a driver (No. 1 wood) was used between Examples 1, 2 and 3 and Comparative Example 1 to measure the flight performance and durability of the robot. Table 4 shows the measurement results. . The actual hit test by the robot is shown as an average value of 10 test balls for each of the examples and comparative examples.
[0021]
Table 3
Figure 0004420146
In Table 3, the hardness of the ball is the amount of deformation caused by applying a pressure of 100 kg to the golf ball on a flat plate.
[0022]
Table 4
Figure 0004420146
In Table 4, HS45 means that the head speed of the driver is 45 m / s, and HS35 also means 35 m / s.
In Table 4, “cracking start” refers to the number of hits on the ball where cracking occurred most quickly, with the driver repeatedly hitting each of the 10 test balls at a head speed of 45 m / s. The average is an average value of the number of actual hits that led to the start of cracking of 10 test balls.
[0023]
【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, such as used golf balls and defective golf balls generated in the manufacturing process, the material sorting method according to the present invention can be used to completely and easily collect and collect different kinds of materials that cannot be mixed. be able to.
[0024]
As long as the selected and collected powders of different materials used for the core and cover are mixed with a predetermined amount of each original material, kneading workability, flight performance and durability in the manufacturing process are of concern. As shown in Tables 3 and 4, it is possible to obtain a golf ball that is completely inferior to a normal original material product.
