Description
(1.発明の分野)
本発明は位置特定機能を備える移動体通信デバイスに関する。特に、本発明は全地球的測位システム(GPS;global positioning system)信号の受信も可能な移動体通信デバイス(例えば、セルラー電話)であって、通信と位置特定の機能の間で発振器を共有する移動体通信デバイスに関する。
全地球的測位システム(GPS;global positioning system)信号を受信して処理する付加的な機能を与えられることで、移動体通信デバイス(例えば、セルラー電話)の実用性は向上する。そのGPS信号はその移動体通信デバイスの位置を特定するために使用することができる。
移動体通信デバイスにおいて提供される本発明の1つの実施例は、通信回路と位置特定信号受信機との間で共有される発振器における周波数調整を補償する方法である。1つの実施例において、前記方法は (a) 第1の時刻において、前記位置特定信号の受信と記憶デバイスへの記憶を開始する工程と; (b) 第2の時刻において、前記発振器の周波数を所定量によって調整する工程と; (c) 前記周波数調整を記録する工程と;(d) 第3の時刻において、前記位置特定信号受信機からの前記位置特定信号の受信と記憶を完了する工程と;および (e) 前記周波数調整を考慮に入れて前記位置特定信号を処理する工程とを備えている。1つの実施例において、前記第2の時刻は前記発振器の前記周波数調整がなされたときの時刻として記録される。前記周波数調整がなされた時刻についての情報を備えて、前記処理する工程は前記第2の時刻と前記第3の時刻との間の前記受信される位置特定信号における周波数シフトを探索する。他の1つの実施例において、前記発振器が前記周波数によって調整された量は記録され、前記処理する工程は前記発振器の前記周波数調整がなされた時刻を探索する。1つの実施例において、前記処理する工程は相関関数を積分する。
本発明は位置特定信号を検出する処理における周波数調整の影響を補償する方法を提供する。本発明の他の1つの側面によれば、局部発振器の周波数を正確に特定する方法が提供される。
図面間での比較を容易とし、詳細な説明を分かりやすくするために、同じ図面の構成要素に対しては同じ参照符号を用いる。
Claims (9)
- 移動体通信デバイスにおいて、通信回路と位置特定信号受信機との間で共有される発振器の周波数調整に起因する、位置特定信号受信機で受信される位置特定信号における周波数オフセットを補償する方法であって:
第1の時刻から第3の時刻までの間、位置特定信号受信機によって受信される位置特定信号を記録する工程と;
第1の時刻と第3の時刻の間の第2の時刻で、通信回路での必要に応じて、発振器の周波数を調整する工程と;
発振器の周波数調整量と第2の時刻を記録する工程と;
第3の時刻より後で、第1の時刻から第3の時刻までの期間についての仮定信号を生成し、記録された位置特定信号を生成された仮定信号と相関演算する工程とを備えており、
第1の時刻から第2の時刻までの期間についての仮定信号に対して、第2の時刻から第3の時刻までの期間についての仮定信号が、記録された周波数調整量に応じた周波数シフト量だけ周波数シフトされていることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記相関演算する工程において、前記周波数調整量が確認できない場合に、前記周波数シフト量を仮定する、請求項1の方法。
- 前記位置特定信号が、全地球的測位システム(GPS;global positioning system)衛星からの信号を備える、請求項1または2の方法。
- 前記相関演算する工程において、前記第2の時刻が確認できない場合に、前記第2の時刻を仮定する、請求項1から3の何れか一項の方法。
- 前記通信回路が、セルラー電話通信のための受信機と送信機とを備える、請求項1から4の何れか一項の方法。
- 通信回路と、位置特定信号受信機と、通信回路と位置特定信号受信機との間で共有される発振器と、中央処理装置を備える移動体通信デバイスであって、
前記中央処理装置が、位置特定信号受信機によって受信された位置特定信号を記録し、
前記発振器が、位置特定信号受信機が位置特定信号を受信している期間において、通信回路における必要に応じて周波数を調整し、
前記中央処理装置が、前記発振器の周波数の調整時刻と、前記発振器の周波数の調整量を記録し、
前記中央処理装置が、位置特定信号受信機が位置特定信号を受信している期間についての仮定信号を生成し、記録された位置特定信号を生成された仮定信号と相関演算し、
周波数の調整時刻より前の期間についての仮定信号に対して、周波数の調整時刻より後の期間についての仮定信号が、周波数の調整量に対応する周波数シフト量だけ周波数シフトされていることを特徴とする移動体通信デバイス。 - 前記中央処理装置が、前記周波数調整量が確認できない場合に、前記周波数シフト量を仮定する請求項6の移動体通信デバイス。
- 前記位置特定信号が、全地球的測位システム(GPS;global positioning system)衛星からの信号を備える、請求項6または7の移動体通信デバイス。
- 前記通信回路が、セルラー電話通信のための受信機と送信機とを備える、請求項6から8の何れか一項の移動体通信デバイス。
