Description
【0001】
V=L/T … 式(1)
【0010】
Ttotal =t×N … 式(2)
【0030】
Vmax =(d/T)×N+(L−d)/T … 式(3)
【0031】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a flat display panel inspection apparatus and a flat display panel inspection method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, flat display devices (FPD) using flat display panels such as liquid crystal display panels and plasma displays have attracted attention as small and lightweight display devices that replace CRTs. As an apparatus for inspecting the quality of the flat display panel constituting the central portion of the FPD, an inspection apparatus using a line sensor such as a CCD array sensor has been developed, and many applications relating to this type of inspection apparatus have been filed. Has reached.
[0003]
Inspecting apparatus of the general flat display panel, organic and 1 line line sensor composed by arranging a plurality of light receiving portions on a straight line, and an optical system for forming an image of the flat display panel on the respective light receiving portions is doing. The line sensor is configured to optically detect the presence or absence of display defects in each part of the flat display panel by scanning in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the light receiving parts are arranged. That is, the line sensor has a plurality of light receiving portions arranged in a line in a direction perpendicular to the scanning direction, and the line sensor scan captures an image of the entire surface of the flat display panel, thereby performing defect inspection. It was.
[0004]
By the way, the FPD using the flat display panel generally defines display contents by sequentially applying voltages having predetermined waveforms having different effective values in a time-division manner to each element in each row and column. .
[0005]
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a relationship between a driving signal for one element of the flat liquid crystal panel and a change in luminance in each element of the panel. 3A shows a drive signal, and FIG. 3B shows a change in luminance of the element. That is, as shown in FIG. 3A, the display content of each element is, for example, at a frequency of 60 Hz, and from time t 1 , t 3 , t 5 , t 7 , t 9 , t 11 , t 13 to time t 2 , It is determined by the peak value of the positive and negative pulse signals given in a short time between t 4 , t 6 , t 8 , t 10 , t 12 , and t 14 .
[0006]
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 3B, each element displays the lightness corresponding to the height (crest value) of a given pulse signal. That is, the normal element can display the lightness as shown by the solid line so as to hold the given pulse signal. However, there is a problem that a defective element cannot hold a pulse signal. For example, as indicated by a virtual line, a periodic blinking change occurs in display content.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the conventional flat display panel inspection apparatus, when the brightness of the measurement target element periodically changes as in the above example, the line sensor determines the scan capture time as the blink period of the measurement target element . If it is earlier than (t 1 to t 5 , t 5 to t 9 ...), The output value of the defective element to be acquired may change depending on the timing of capturing the image.
[0008]
FIG. 3C shows a half time (t 1 to t 3 , t 3 to t 5 ...) Of the blinking cycle (t 1 to t 5 , t 5 to t 9 . It is a figure which shows the detected value at the time of measuring the element which changes the brightness as shown by a line. As can be seen from FIG. 3C, the measured value during the time (t 1 to t 3 ) and the measured value during the time (t 3 to t 5 ) are greatly different, and the measured value is dependent on the timing of capture. It can be seen that there is a difference in size.
[0009]
That is, even if periodic flickering occurs due to a defect in an element, when a defective element is measured in a period (t 1 to t 4 ) in which the symptom does not appear, this is distinguished from a normal element. As a result, accurate defect detection could not be performed. Therefore, in the conventional flat display panel inspection apparatus, in order to perform measurement with high reproducibility, when the length in the scanning direction of the flashing flat display panel element (one pixel blinking region) is defined as the width L, the following equation ( As shown in 1), the scanning speed V is determined by the blinking period T and the width L, and scanning cannot be performed faster than this.
V = L / T Expression (1)
[0010]
In addition, in order to perform highly accurate measurement, it is necessary to receive a sufficient amount of light from each element. For this purpose, it is necessary to receive light from each part as long as possible. V had a limit.
[0011]
The present invention has been made in consideration of the above-described matters, and its object is to affect display defects of a display panel that periodically flickers, such as a flat liquid crystal panel , by the blinking. An object of the present invention is to provide a flat display panel inspection apparatus and a flat display panel inspection method capable of high-speed and high-sensitivity inspection.
[0012]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
To achieve the above object, a flat display panel inspection apparatus according to a first aspect of the present invention is a line sensor in which a plurality of light receiving portions are arranged on one straight line, and an optical for forming an image of the flat display panel on each light receiving portion. The line sensor unit having a system is optically detected for the presence or absence of display defects in the flat display panel by scanning the flat display panel in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the light receiving portions are arranged on a straight line. A flat panel display inspection apparatus, wherein a plurality of the line sensor units are arranged and fixed in a scanning direction so that the line sensors are respectively arranged on a plurality of straight lines arranged in the scanning direction and arranged in a two-dimensional direction. The light receiving units of the line sensors arranged in the two-dimensional direction have light from the same part on the flat display panel as the line sensor unit scans. Each of the light receiving units of the line sensor is adjacent to the downstream side in the scanning direction in accordance with the scanning speed according to the scanning speed. The data is transferred to the light receiving unit and sequentially accumulated with the measured values from the downstream light receiving unit. The accumulated value is used as the output of the line sensor, and the level of the output value of the line sensor is monitored to monitor each part of the flat display panel. An arithmetic processing device for determining the presence or absence of a display defect is provided. (Claim 1)
[0013]
Therefore, by using the flat panel display inspection apparatus of the present invention, the light from the same portion on the flat panel is repeatedly received and measured by the number of light receiving portions of the line sensor arranged in the scanning direction, and these measured values are measured. Can be obtained. In other words, in order to perform an accurate inspection, it is necessary to continuously receive light from the same portion on the flat panel for a predetermined period longer than the blinking period, but by using the present invention. Compared with the line sensors arranged in a line in the scanning direction, scanning can be performed at a higher speed by the number of the plurality of light receiving units arranged in the scanning direction.
[0014]
Further, since the light from the same part of the flat display panel can be received many times by the number of light receiving parts arranged in the scanning direction , the measurement sensitivity is increased. That is, reproducibility is improved and more stable inspection can be performed.
[0015]
The flat display panel inspection method of the present invention includes a line sensor unit having a line sensor having a plurality of light receiving portions arranged on a straight line, and an optical system for forming an image of the flat display panel on each light receiving portion. The flat display panel inspection method optically detects the presence or absence of display defects in the flat display panel by scanning the flat panel display in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the light receiving units are arranged on one straight line. A line sensor having a plurality of light receiving units arranged in a two-dimensional direction by being arranged on a plurality of straight lines arranged at equal intervals in the scanning direction by arranging and fixing a plurality of the line sensor units in the scanning direction. using, together with the value measured by the light receiving portions in a regular read timing matching the scanning speed of the line sensors, one in one read timing The measurements obtained by measures the light of the flat display panel or found by the plurality of light receiving portions arranged in a line, another arranged in the scanning direction downstream side of the adjacent straight line at the next read timing A plurality of light beams that are transferred to the light receiving unit and accumulated sequentially in the light measurement values measured from the same portion on the flat display panel by another light receiving unit on the downstream side, and arranged in a two-dimensional direction as the line sensor scans. By continuously accumulating the measured values of light from the same part on the flat display panel repeatedly measured by the light receiving unit, the output value of the line sensor is used, and the level of the output value of this line sensor is monitored. The present invention is characterized in that an inspection for determining the presence or absence of display defects in each portion of the flat display panel is performed. (Claim 2)
[0016]
In other words, a plurality of inspection optical systems configured to form an image of the surface of the flat display panel on a two-dimensional photosensor array through a condenser lens are arranged, and these are arranged in the vertical direction and each element of the sensor. An inspection apparatus that measures the entire surface of a flat display panel while moving at a constant speed in either the vertical or horizontal direction (usually the direction of the short side), and is optically conjugate with one sensor element and the sample. Each time it moves by the area, the signal stored in one line of each sensor is sent to the side corresponding to the rear side in the next measurement progress direction, and the sent side adds the sent signals to the next timing. A signal is accumulated, a signal accumulated for the number of sensor lines in the final line is output, and defect detection is performed based on this signal. Accordingly, the scanning speed of measurement , that is, a predetermined inspection can be performed at a high speed while increasing the inspection accuracy by increasing the signal accumulation time for one point of the flat display panel .
