Description
The present invention relates to a display device frame, a backlight unit, and a display device. More specifically, it has a structure in which members such as a harness can be disposed inside, and a display device frame that can be suitably used for a liquid crystal display device using a cold cathode lamp, and the like. The present invention relates to a backlight unit and a display device.
In recent years, thinning of display devices has progressed, and among them, liquid crystal display devices are used in a wide range of fields because they have characteristics such as small size, thin weight, and low power consumption. As such a liquid crystal display device, a light source device unit for irradiating a liquid crystal panel in a planar shape from the back surface (opposite the display surface), that is, a so-called backlight unit provided on the back surface is widely used. In general, the backlight unit includes a metal frame (lower case) that forms the back surface of the liquid crystal display device, a backlight, a wiring member such as a harness that supplies power to the backlight, and a light guide plate. It is comprised including various optical members. In the lower case of such a backlight unit, it is necessary to fix a wiring member such as a harness near the outer edge outside the display area. If the fixing method is not appropriate, for example, if the harness is damaged and the internal conductive portion is exposed, leakage will occur and the backlight will not function sufficiently.
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described present situation, and includes a display device frame that can be fixed in the vicinity of the outer edge by an inexpensive method without damaging members such as a harness constituting the display device. An object of the present invention is to provide a backlight unit and a display device.
As a result of various studies on a frame for a display device that includes a fixing portion that can be held at low cost and can be held without damaging members constituting the display device, such as a harness, Since the fixing part was produced by an expensive outsert method, attention was paid to an increase in manufacturing cost. Therefore, if the fixing part has a structure that protrudes in the same direction as the side part while being partially connected to the metal plate of the frame body part, the fixing part can be manufactured at low cost without using the outsert method. I found out that In addition, the fixing portion is provided near the side surface portion of the display device frame, and has a structure in which the metal plate and the fixed member are not in contact with each other when the fixed member is held between the side surface portion. It has been found that it can be fixed in the vicinity of the outer edge without damaging a member such as a harness. Furthermore, the present inventors have arrived at the present invention by conceiving that the above-mentioned problems can be solved brilliantly by using a fixed portion combining these structures.
That is, the present invention constitutes a display device with a frame main body portion formed of a metal plate, a side surface portion having a structure in which an outer edge of the metal plate is bent in a direction normal to one main surface of the frame main body portion. A frame for a display device comprising a fixing portion for holding a fixed member, wherein the fixing portion has a structure protruding in the same direction as the side surface portion while being partially connected to the metal plate of the frame main body portion. And a frame for a display device provided in the vicinity of the side surface portion and having a structure in which the metal plate and at least one fixed member are not in contact with each other at the end when the fixed member is sandwiched between the side surface portion. is there.
The present invention is described in detail below.
The display device frame of the present invention includes a frame main body portion, a side surface portion, and a fixing portion that holds a fixed member that constitutes the display device. The configuration of the display device frame of the present invention is not particularly limited as long as such components are formed as essential, and other components may or may not be included. is not. In the present invention, the “frame” may generally be called “case” or “bezel”.
The frame main body is made of a metal plate and forms the bottom surface of the display device frame. Various members constituting the display device are stacked on one main surface (in the normal direction of the main surface). Is done. The side surface portion has a structure in which the outer edge of the metal plate is bent in the normal direction of one main surface of the frame main body portion, and forms the side surface (outer edge) of the display device frame. The frame body portion and the side surface portion can be formed simultaneously by bending the outer edge of the metal plate by press molding or the like. The main surface of the frame main body and the main surface of the side surface are normally at an angle of approximately 90 °. As a material of the metal plate constituting the frame main body part and the side part, an iron alloy such as stainless steel can be used, but from the viewpoint of making the frame thinner and lighter, it is made of aluminum, magnesium, or a metal thereof. It is preferable to use various alloys. In addition, it is preferable that the metal plate which comprises a frame main-body part is flat. The main surface shape of the frame main body and the side surface is preferably rectangular. From the viewpoint of heat dissipation and weight reduction, an opening region may be provided on the main surface of the frame main body in addition to the opening region provided when the fixing portion is formed. The side surface portion may be provided with a fitting hole or the like. The fixing portion is provided to hold various members constituting the display device, and is usually disposed on the frame main body portion. In the present invention, the number of fixing portions is not particularly limited.
The fixing portion in the present invention has a structure protruding in the same direction as the side surface portion while being partially connected to the metal plate of the frame main body portion. Therefore, in the present invention, for example, after cutting a part of the metal plate constituting the frame body part (a part located in the vicinity of the side surface part) so that the part is connected to the frame body part, press molding or the like is performed. The portion can be formed so as to protrude from the frame main body by pushing it up in the same direction as the side surface, that is, in the normal direction of one main surface of the frame main body. As described above, in the present invention, the frame main body portion, the side surface portion, and the fixing portion can be formed of the same metal plate, so that the fixing portion is produced at low cost without using the outsert method (outsertless). be able to. In addition, the fixing portion does not have to be made only of a metal plate. For example, in order to prevent damage to the constituent member (fixed member) of the display device held by the fixing portion, a covering material (cover) made of resin ) May be attached. Especially, since the fixing member near the outlet from which the fixing member is pulled out of the frame is easily rubbed with the fixing portion, a coating material made of resin is preferably used.
Further, the fixing portion in the present invention is provided in the vicinity of the side surface portion, and when the fixed member is held between the side surface portion, the metal plate and at least one fixed member are in a non-contact state at the end portion. It is what you have. Thereby, it can fix to the outer edge of a frame main-body part, without damaging the structural member of a display apparatus.
Examples of the member to be fixed sandwiched between the fixing part and the side part include a wiring member such as a harness and a cold cathode lamp. The structure of the fixing portion whose end portion is in a non-contact state with at least one fixed member is a structure in which the end portion is directed in the opposite direction to the side that holds the fixed member in a non-contact state, or made of resin The structure etc. with which the coating | covering material (cover) was attached are mentioned. For example, as shown in FIG. 5, the end portion has a concavo-convex surface and the end portion is covered with a harness or the like. Examples thereof include a
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the display device frame of the present invention will be described in detail.
The fixing portion preferably has a shape in which an end portion is bent in the center direction of the frame main body portion. Thereby, the non-contact state between the end of the fixed portion and the fixed member at the time of fixing the member can be suitably realized. Note that the center direction of the frame main body portion does not particularly limit one direction, but broadly refers to a direction opposite to the side surface portion side in the fixed portion.
It is preferable that the fixed portion has a concavo-convex shape on the surface facing the side surface portion. As a result, the fixed member does not come into contact with the fixed portion at the surface, but is fixed at the bent point (convex portion) of the fixed portion, so that the side surface according to the dimension (width) of the fixed portion. It is possible to easily adjust the distance between the part and the fixed part. Moreover, the member can be fixed on both sides of the fixed part by adjusting the degree of unevenness of the surface of the fixed part. For example, the harness can be fixed on one surface (side surface side) of the fixing portion, and the light guide plate can be fixed on the other surface (center side of the frame main body portion). The shape of the fixed portion having the uneven surface is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include an M shape, a W shape, and the like, but the end portion is between the uneven portion (valley) and the convex portion (mountain) having the uneven shape. It preferably has a positioned shape. Thereby, as shown in FIG.1 (b), when fixing a member to the both sides of a fixing | fixed part, it prevents that the edge part of a fixing | fixed part contacts both members and damages a to-be-fixed member. Can do. In addition, the number of unevenness | corrugations in a fixing | fixed part is not specifically limited.
It is preferable that the fixing portion is disposed in the vicinity of at least one corner of the frame main body. As a result, a member (fixed member) constituting the display device can be fixed in the vicinity of at least one corner of the frame main body not normally included in the display area. Examples of the shape of the fixed portion formed at the corner of the frame main body include a turtle shell shape and a paren bracket shape.
In the present specification, the corners of the frame main body do not simply represent the outer edges of the frame main body, but represent the four corners if the frame main body is a quadrangle, for example. Therefore, if the frame main body is octagonal, there are eight corners of the frame main body.
The present invention is also a backlight unit configured to include the display device frame, the wiring member, and the light guide plate. The backlight unit includes a wiring member and a light guide plate formed by a fixing portion of the display device frame. It is also a backlight unit that is held. According to such a backlight unit, since the fixing portion for fixing the wiring member and the light guide plate can be formed at low cost, the manufacturing cost of the backlight unit can be reduced. In addition, since the metal plate and the wiring member are not in contact with each other at the end of the fixing portion at the time of fixing, it is possible to reduce failures such as leakage due to damage to the wiring member. In addition, when the metal plate and the light guide plate are in a non-contact state at the end of the fixed portion, it is possible to prevent the generation of dust due to damage to the light guide plate, and to reduce the display quality of the display device. Can be prevented. As said wiring member, a harness etc. are mentioned, for example, Specifically, the thing etc. which coat | covered the surface of the metal wire which consists of copper, aluminum, etc. with resin etc. are mentioned. The wiring member is usually disposed on the outer edge in the display device frame. The light guide plate is usually stacked on the frame body of the display device frame. Examples of the material of the light guide plate include acrylic resin and polycarbonate resin, and examples of the cross-sectional shape thereof include a rectangle and a wedge shape. In the backlight unit, the wiring member is electrically connected to an external power source, and the backlight is turned on by supplying power to the backlight such as a cold cathode lamp through the wiring member, and the light emitted from the backlight is further guided to the light guide plate. In this case, the planar emission light can be obtained on the upper surface side of the display device frame.
The present invention further includes a backlight unit that includes the display device frame, a wiring member, a light guide plate, and one or more optical sheets, and the backlight unit includes a wiring member, It is also a backlight unit in which a light guide plate and one or more optical sheets are held by a fixing portion of a display device frame. According to such a backlight unit, since the fixing part for fixing the wiring member, the light guide plate, and the optical sheet can be formed at low cost, the manufacturing cost of the backlight unit can be reduced. Moreover, since the said fixing | fixed part is formed so that a metal plate and a to-be-fixed member may be in a non-contact state in an edge part, damage to the to-be-fixed member at the time of fixation can be prevented. As the optical sheet, those capable of controlling the optical characteristics of the planar emitted light obtained on the upper surface side of the display device frame are preferable. Specifically, for example, a diffusion sheet, a lens (prism) sheet, Examples thereof include a reflection sheet and an electromagnetic wave shielding sheet. According to the diffusion sheet, the uniformity of the light emitted from the backlight can be improved. Further, according to the lens (prism) sheet, the light intensity of the emitted light from the backlight can be increased.
The present invention is also a display device comprising the display device frame on the opposite side of the display surface. Examples of the display device include a liquid crystal display device and an organic electroluminescence display device. Among these, a liquid crystal display device is preferable. According to such a display device, various members constituting the backlight unit of the display device are fixed to a predetermined position in the frame by using the display device frame of the present invention manufactured by an inexpensive method. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the manufacturing cost of the display device, and to reduce display defects and deterioration of display quality due to damage of various members. A preferable form of the display device of the present invention includes a form including the backlight unit of the present invention.
According to the display device frame of the present invention, the fixing portion that holds the fixed member constituting the display device has a structure that protrudes in the same direction as the side surface portion while being partially connected to the metal plate of the frame main body portion. Therefore, it is possible to form the fixing portion by an inexpensive method without using the outsert molding method and the like, and at the time of fixing, the metal plate and at least one fixed member are not in contact with each other at the end portion. Since the structure is in a state, it can be fixed at a predetermined position without damaging the fixed member.
Embodiments will be described below, and the present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the drawings. However, the present invention is not limited only to these embodiments.
