Description
【0001】
パソコン等の各種情報処理装置においては、最近ではGUI(Graphical User Interface:グラフィカルユーザインターフェース)が広く普及し、一般に表示画面中のメニューやアイコンを選択することにより操作が行われている。
【0003】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a menu system such as an information processing apparatus, and more particularly to a menu system for processing a menu of a plurality of pages, a menu processing method, and a recording medium on which a menu processing program is recorded.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In various information processing apparatuses such as personal computers, recently, GUI (Graphical User Interface) has become widespread, and operations are generally performed by selecting menus and icons on a display screen.
[0003]
The menu displays instructions that can be specified by the user on the display screen and selection items indicating work contents, and the user can select information to be executed by selecting a selection item to be executed using a pointing device such as a mouse. The execution is instructed to the processing device. In the case of the mouse, this selection operation is performed by moving the mouse cursor (pointer) on the selection item and performing a specified operation such as “left click” which is a predetermined operation for instructing execution. Make a selection.
[0004]
In addition, when there are many selection items, the selection items have a hierarchical structure and are hierarchized by a main menu or a sub menu. For example, when a cursor (pointer) is moved over a selection item (or when a selection item is selected), a submenu including a selection item for performing more detailed selection of the selection item is displayed. Is.
[0005]
In addition, the menu often includes a menu bar for displaying items of the main menu (menu) at the lower part of the display, the upper part of the application window, or the like.
[0006]
Some display menus across multiple pages. For example, when there are many selection items (such as a menu for selecting a product to be purchased), there is a function button for switching a page to be displayed in an application window, and each menu selection item is displayed. In addition, some menus for work with a predetermined procedure (application installation work, etc.) sequentially switch pages according to the work procedure and display a menu corresponding to the current work to the user. .
[0007]
Such a conventional menu system includes a system disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 09-114625, which automatically updates the hierarchical structure of the menu in accordance with the frequency of use of the user, and Japanese Patent No. 2904255. There is a disclosed menu system for efficiently displaying submenus.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional menu system has the following problems.
[0009]
In the conventional menu system, selection items are indicated by short characters such as arrows and printers, and short characters such as “file”, “print”, and “help”. There was a problem that it was necessary to separately learn the function of each corresponding selection item with reference to a manual or the like.
[0010]
As a user of the menu system, if you want to target many general people, including those who are not familiar with the operation, rather than only experienced people, the menu has many selection items and a complicated hierarchical structure. Instead of providing, it is necessary to simply and clearly configure the menu with only the necessary functions and to clearly show the function of each selection item of the menu.
[0011]
For this purpose, for example, a method of displaying an image, a description, or the like indicating a large selection item in a window instead of displaying the selection item with a small icon or a short character is conceivable. However, in the method of displaying large selection items in a window, the number of selection items that can be displayed at one time is small, and in many cases, it is also necessary to configure a menu with a plurality of pages.
[0012]
However, in the conventional menu system, switching of pages to be displayed is troublesome, and each page in the system may be complicatedly configured, which is inconvenient. Also, in switching the menu page, the displayed option is selected and the switching destination page is designated. For example, in a conventional menu system, even in the case of a menu that sequentially displays a series of information, in order to open the next page, an operation of moving the cursor position to a predetermined option for each page may be performed. there were.
[0013]
An object of the present invention is to record a menu system, a menu processing method, and a menu processing program capable of solving the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art, showing the selection items large and easily and switching the menu page to be displayed simply and easily. Is to provide a recording medium.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, a menu system of the present invention displays a menu option display area for accepting a menu selection operation at the center of each menu page in a menu system for processing a menu of a plurality of pages, and switches pages around Displays a switching area for accepting operations, and individually switches the menu page for each part in the switching area located in each direction of the menu page. FIG. 7 is a diagram illustrating an example of an arrangement of each part of the menu switching area according to the present embodiment, and FIG. 8 is a diagram illustrating an example of a configuration of a page switching destination according to the present embodiment.
[0039]
In the example of FIG. 7, the cover of a menu for searching for domestic travel information is shown, and the page to be displayed is switched from the page shown in FIG. 7 to a page for searching for information on various places such as Hokkaido and Tohoku. It can be carried out.
[0040]
The switching area 33 is divided into eight parts A, B,..., H, and each part switches to a page for searching information on eight regions from Hokkaido, Tohoku, and Kyushu. It corresponds to. For example, the page to be displayed is switched to the Hokkaido page shown in FIG. 6 by placing the cursor 34 on the portion indicated by “A” in the switching area 33 and clicking on it.
[0041]
In addition, alphabets A, B,..., H in FIG. 7 are for explaining the division of the region, and are not displayed on the actual display screen. In addition, in the example of FIG. 7, an area for opening a page of the area is provided outside the place name of each area, but a place name indicating the switching destination directly in each of the areas A, B,. Etc. may be displayed.
[0042]
Further, in the example of FIG. 8, the configuration of switching destinations of each page of this menu is adopted that is connected to one in each direction centering on the cover page of the menu of FIG.

In the example of FIG. 6, only one option indicating “Hokkaido” is displayed in the menu option display area 32, but the number of options displayed in one page may be plural. That is, the inside of the menu option display area 32 is divided into a plurality of parts, and the options are displayed on each of the parts. Further, as shown in FIG. 6, when there is one option, the display of the menu is simple, information indicating the option can be displayed large, and the menu can be easily understood by the user.
[0045]
Next, for use in the description of the present invention, the following terms are defined in this specification.
[0046]
Detailed menu data is referred to as a menu object. Menu objects include data such as choices and images displayed on each page of the menu, setting data of the switching destination page from each page, data of contents executed when each menu option is selected, and other screens The setting of the external shape of the menu displayed on the screen is provided.

Moreover, the appearance of menus displayed on the screen of a virtual book, in particular, represents a state in which printed paper such as books and pamphlets are bundled, and the switching area 33 is parallel to the end of the book. It is also possible to indicate the edge of the paper lined up. In this way, the entire menu page may be displayed by an actual book or the appearance of opening the book, but the appearance is not particularly limited to the shape of the book or the opened book.

Page data can be recorded according to the direction and the number of times the page is turned. Furthermore, a log of the history of page switching performed by turning this page may be recorded.
[0057]
In addition, as a method for recording operation information, for example, in a method in which only one option is displayed on each page, different options do not correspond depending on the cursor position, so the menu designation range (that is, the current page being displayed is displayed). Information) and menu information (processing set as options for each page) can be stored in association with each other. Further, in this case, the selection process of the currently displayed page option can be performed regardless of the cursor position by executing a specific operation such as “double click”.

FIG. 4 is a flowchart for explaining the processing of the page switching unit 13 of the present embodiment.
[0073]
The page switching unit 13 receives a page switching instruction from the input operation recognizing unit 11, acquires the page data of the currently displayed page recorded in the page update information 42 (step 401), and the switching destination specified by the turning direction. The information of the new page screen, options, etc. is acquired, the display information of the page currently displayed on the screen is updated by the page turning process (step 402), and the updated display information of the new page is output. 30 (step 403), and the record of the page update information 42 accompanying the update of the page to be displayed is updated (step 404). FIG. 12 is a diagram illustrating an example of the page update information 42 according to the present embodiment. In the present embodiment, as shown in the example of FIG. 12, the page being displayed can be identified and recorded by the direction of turning the page from the display page and the number of times of turning.

The
[0076]
Also, in the operation of the present embodiment, in a pointing device having two or more operation buttons such as a two-button mouse of MS-Windows or a three-button mouse of UNIX, one of the operation buttons is displayed on the page. It is possible to assign to the process of reverting switching. For example, in the case of a two-button mouse or the like, an instruction to turn one page ahead is determined as “clicking the left button” of the mouse, and an instruction to move back one page is “clicking the right button” of the mouse.
[0077]
In this case, for example, as shown in Example 1 on the left side of FIG. 9, by left-clicking on the upper part of the cover page, the first page of Hokkaido is newly opened, and the same upper part is left-clicked again. You can open the second page with this, and if you right-click here, reverse the order of opening until now to return to the first page display, and then right-click to display the cover page. Return to.
[0078]
It is also possible to recognize and use the operation of a double cook of the operation buttons. For example, in the process of selecting a menu option, it is conceivable that the selection is performed by double-cooking rather than simply clicking on the option display area at the center of the page. Thereby, it is possible to prevent a malfunction in which a page switching instruction is erroneously recognized as a menu selection operation due to a mistake in the cursor position. In the example 2 on the right side of FIG. 9, by performing a left double click while the first page of the middle part is being displayed, the processing of the page (here, searching for travel information of the middle part) is executed.
[0079]
In addition, when the right click or double click operation described here is performed, the cursor position is preferably within a predetermined menu display screen. However, when the right click or double click is performed during the menu display in advance. In the embodiment, the above-described processing may be performed regardless of the cursor position.
[0080]

When switching the page by clicking the right part, the page is turned from right to left, and when switching the page by clicking the lower right part, the page is turned from the lower right to the upper left. As a result, the direction of the page to be displayed from the display page can be presented to the user in an easily understandable manner. In the example of FIG. 10, when the page to be displayed is restored (by left click operation or the like), an operation for closing the page is displayed and switching is performed.
[0082]
Further, in addition to displaying the operation of opening and closing a paper page as shown in FIG. 10, it is also possible to perform processing in which pages are sequentially changed from the cursor position side in a similar manner. And the same effect is acquired. This is to change the page from right to left when clicking the right part to change the page, and when changing the page by clicking the lower right part, change the page from the lower right to the upper left. .
