Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an improvement in a stereoscopic image display device using a hybrid screen in which a hologram and a lens are combined.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a method for displaying a stereoscopic image using a projection screen, a method using special glasses is common, but an autostereoscopic method without glasses is also being studied. As special screens for this purpose, there are a lenticular screen and a hologram screen.
[0003]
The size of the viewing zone can be adjusted in the two-dimensional stereoscopic display hologram screen. In an ideal recording method for a hologram screen, hologram exposure is performed using the convergent spherical reference light and the scattering diffusion surface light source as object light. However, when a real image is reproduced by conjugate light as a reproduction illumination method, an optical component having an opening larger than the screen is required to produce a large screen, and it is difficult to realize a large screen.
[0004]
In view of such circumstances, research on a twin-lens autostereoscopic display system has been conducted in order to realize a large screen (Non-Patent Document 1). In Non-Patent
[0005]
As shown in FIG. 18, the hologram screen used in the binocular autostereoscopic display is recorded as a reference light R as laser light emitted from a

[0008]
As shown in FIG. 19, the hologram screen is used in the same manner as the reference light R at the time of recording since the positional / distance relationship of the reproduction light source (indicated by I in FIGS. 18 and 19). The

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, a stereoscopic image reproduction system using such a

That is, in the reproduction system, illumination is performed using a
[0013]
This chromatic aberration can be quantitatively analyzed using the hologram imaging formula shown in the following equations (1), (2), and (3).
[Expression 1]
[0014]
[Expression 2]
[0015]
[Equation 3]
[0016]
In the above equation (1), λRIs the recording wavelength (532 nm), λCIs the reproduction wavelength, R0Is the distance from one point on the object that is the surface of the
[0017]
Of the light that passes through the
[0018]
The recording wavelength was 532 nm, and the screen was evaluated assuming a size of 17 (horizontal) × 13 (vertical) inches (diagonal: about 21 inches (1 inch = 2.54 cm)). At this time, the recording method was calculated for each of a method using a converging spherical reference light and a method using a diverging spherical reference light.
[0019]
As a result, in the virtual image reproduction using the diverging spherical reference light, the chromatic aberration generated when the reproduction was performed under the conditions of the reproduction optical system of FIG. 20 using the Fresnel
[0020]
The calculation results of the chromatic aberration of the spectral spectrum by the spot diagram are as shown in FIG. 21 (a), FIG. 21 (b), FIG. 21 (c), and FIG. The result of this spot diagram is the chromatic aberration obtained for the central point in the surface light source when recording a holographic screen.
[0021]
As shown in FIGS. 21 (a), 21 (b), and 21 (c), in the case of conjugate white light illumination, the horizontal and vertical directions are higher than in the case of the hybrid hologram of FIG. It can be seen that the aberration is large. From this result, when recording with a converging spherical reference beam and reproducing a real image with conjugate light, the chromatic aberration increases during reproduction when the screen is enlarged.
[0022]
On the other hand, in the case of the result of chromatic aberration shown in FIG. 22, the spectral spectrum of 450 nm is +30 mm in the vertical direction on the paraxial image point plane, and the spectral spectrum of 650 nm is chromatic aberration that is separated by about −50 mm in the vertical direction on the paraxial image point plane. Is accompanied. This is smaller than the results of FIGS. 21 (a), 21 (b), and 21 (c), but has not yet become zero.
[0023]
When chromatic aberration occurs in this way, as shown in FIGS. 21 (a), 21 (b), 21 (c), and 22, when the viewpoint shifts upward along the vertical direction, the spectral wavelength of 450 nm is obtained. If it shifts downward along the vertical direction, it looks reddish due to the influence of the spectral spectrum of 650 nm. That is, there is a problem that the viewing area that can be seen with the correct color is narrowed.
[0024]
In addition, the narrowing of the viewing zone in this way has a problem that the light is scattered according to the wavelength, so that the loss of light is large and the light is not used effectively.
[0025]
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and a first object thereof is to eliminate chromatic aberration in a hybrid screen combining a hologram and a lens, thereby preventing a narrowing of the viewing zone. An object of the present invention is to provide a stereoscopic image display device.
[0026]
A second object of the present invention is to provide a stereoscopic image display apparatus that can eliminate chromatic aberration in a hybrid screen in which a hologram and a lens are combined, and can use light more effectively.
[0027]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention takes the following measures.
[0037]
Claim1According to the present invention, in a stereoscopic image display device based on binocular parallax formed by two arbitrary viewing zones, a hologram in which a virtual image pattern corresponding to a real image pattern formed in the viewing zone is recorded, and toward the hologram A plurality of projectors that irradiate reproduction illumination light and reproduce the virtual image patterns recorded on the hologram, and the respective viewing zones that exist on different straight lines substantially parallel to the hologram surface. A condensing lens that condenses light to form a real image pattern light corresponding to each virtual image pattern, and a divergence that diverges each real image pattern light connected by the condensing lens only in a direction orthogonal to the binocular arrangement direction. And a lens.Further, each projector is irradiated with an R component sub-projector that irradiates reproduction illumination light composed of R components, a G component sub-projector that irradiates reproduction illumination light composed of G components, and a reproduction illumination light composed of B components. The B component subprojector is composed of three subprojectors. Furthermore, in each viewing zone, the dispersion of the image of the real image pattern light depending on the wavelength is compensated so that the real image pattern light is focused on the same point without depending on the wavelength. Each sub-projector is placed in
[0038]
Therefore, the claims1In the stereoscopic image display apparatus of the invention, by taking the above-described means, a high-quality and large-sized stereoscopic image can be easily displayed on a screen including a hologram, a condenser lens, and a diverging lens. It becomes possible. The hologram, the condensing lens, and the diverging lens are preferably formed in a sheet shape. For example, the sheet-like condensing lens includes a Fresnel lens, and the sheet-like diverging lens includes a lenticular lens.
[0039]
The hologram can accurately control the viewing zone in which each parallax image can be observed. Further, the hologram can be easily manufactured by adopting a virtual image reproduction type. Furthermore, by using, for example, a Fresnel lens as a lens, it is possible to prevent the 0th-order diffracted light of the hologram from entering the eyes of the observer by combining the hologram and the Fresnel lens. As a result, a high-quality display with a high S / N (signal / noise) ratio can be realized.
[0040]
In addition, by the action of the diverging lens, it is possible to expand the viewing area where the stereoscopic image can be observed in a direction orthogonal to the arrangement direction of the observer's eyes.
[0041]
Furthermore, since the angle at which each parallax image can be observed can be determined according to the projection angle of the projector, it is possible to easily realize binocular parallax. Note that the hologram, condensing lens, and diverging lens constituting the screen may be in any combination order, and can be made lightweight and compact by integrating them into a sheet.Furthermore, light of each color of the R component, G component, and B component dispersed by the hologram can be made to have substantially the same spatial distribution, and a full-color three-dimensional image with no color shift can be displayed.
[0042]
Claim2In order to achieve the second object, in the stereoscopic image display device according to claim 4, the hologram, the condenser lens, and the diverging lens are formed into a sheet shape having light transmittance.
[0043]
Therefore, the claims2In the stereoscopic image display apparatus according to the invention, by taking the above-described means, a transmissive screen can be constituted by the hologram, the condenser lens, and the diverging lens, and a large stereoscopic image is displayed on this screen. It becomes possible to do. Furthermore, since the projector can be arranged on the back surface of the screen, the viewpoint position of the observer can be arbitrarily set.
[0044]
Claim3In order to achieve the second object of the present invention,1In the stereoscopic image display device according to the invention, among the hologram, the condensing lens, and the diverging lens, those arranged on the side farthest from the projector side have light reflectivity, and the others have light transmissivity. I am doing so.
[0045]
Therefore, the claims3In the stereoscopic image display apparatus according to the invention, a reflection type screen can be constituted by the hologram, the condensing lens, and the diverging lens by taking the above-described means, and a large stereoscopic image can be formed on the screen. It is possible to display. Furthermore, since the projector can be arranged on the viewer side, the stereoscopic image display device including the viewer can be arranged in a compact manner.
[0048]
Claim4The invention of
[0049]
Therefore, the claims4In the stereoscopic image display apparatus according to the invention, by taking the above-described means, by projecting three or more parallax images using three or more projectors, A change in the parallax image occurs with the change, and a natural stereoscopic effect can be realized.
[0050]
Claim5The invention of
[0051]
Therefore, the claims5In the stereoscopic image display apparatus according to the invention, by taking the above-described means, a plurality of observers can observe a stereoscopic image at the same time. For example, when recording is performed using three diffusion plates, parallax images are observed in the left and right eyes of three observers, so that three persons can observe a stereoscopic image at the same time.
