Description
【0001】

A:B =0.005:1乃至0.01:1、

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an oxygen absorbent and a packaging material using the same, and more particularly to an oxygen absorbent that can be activated by light and a packaging material provided with the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, metal cans, glass bottles, various plastic containers, etc. have been used as packaging containers, and these containers all suppress the oxygen permeation through the container wall to an order that can be ignored and improve the shelf life of the contents. For this purpose, we have achieved some success.
However, the container is filled with the contents, and the sealed package always contains oxygen dissolved or mixed in the contents, and there is always a head space at the top of the container. Oxygen from the air remains in the headspace.
Even if the residual oxygen in the package is considerably dilute compared with oxygen in the atmosphere, the content will be deteriorated by oxidation, or microorganisms will grow, and the preservation of the content will be significantly reduced. It is also empirically known that residual oxygen in a package subjected to heat sterilization such as hot filling and retort sterilization is remarkably active, and this oxygen significantly reduces the flavor of the contents.
[0003]
Conventionally, in order to reduce the residual oxygen in the package, means such as steam substitution and nitrogen substitution have been widely adopted during the production of the package, but it is difficult to completely block the influence of residual oxygen with these physical means. Therefore, chemical means as described below are used.
[0004]
An ancient and widely used means to prevent the effects of residual oxygen is to utilize the reducing properties of metallic tin. In canned products, at least part of the can body or can lid is unpainted tin, or pre-tin solder is used as the solder for the side seams to expose the tin to the contents side, so that oxygen is reduced. ing. It has already been proposed by the applicant to remove dissolved oxygen from glass containers and plastic containers using metal tin vapor deposition and tin foil lamination.
In order to remove oxygen in the container, the use of an oxygen absorbent (deoxygenating agent) has been known for a long time. This method applies the oxygen absorbent to the container lid and the container wall, and uses the reducing substance as the main agent. It is intended to capture oxygen by the reaction between oxygen absorber and oxygen. As the main component of the oxygen absorbent, iron-based ones are often used in terms of economy and efficacy.
[0005]
It is already known to use a polymer radical for oxygen scavenging. For example, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. Sho 62-207338 related to the applicant's proposal, an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer is irradiated with ionizing radiation. It is described that oxygen scavenging is effectively performed.
[0006]
JP-A-4-213346 discloses an oxygen barrier container made of a resin composition containing polyolefin and an oxidation catalyst or further a radical inhibitor, and the oxygen barrier property of the container is improved by irradiation with radiation. It is described.
[0007]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 5-32277 discloses at least a container comprising a laminate of a layer having an oxygen barrier property and a resin layer having a polymer radical generating ability provided on the inner side of the container with respect to the oxygen barrier layer. It is described that the inside is irradiated with light or ionizing radiation, the polymer radicals to be generated are not deactivated, the contents are filled, the container is sealed, and the residual oxygen in the container is absorbed.
[0008]
Further, JP-A-5-194949 describes that oxygen scavenging is started by exposing a resin composition containing an oxidizable organic compound and a transition metal catalyst to radiation.
[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Although the method of removing oxygen from the package with a reducing substance or oxygen absorbent is effective for the purpose of absorbing oxygen in the package over a certain period of time, it is limited to a short time. It is not very effective for the purpose of absorbing and removing oxygen.
[0010]
On the other hand, although irradiation of ionizing radiation is permitted for sterilization of the container itself, irradiation of foods is not permitted. Therefore, prior to filling the contents, the container is irradiated with radiation, and then the contents Filling and sealing the container. Needless to say, since the polymer radical is most active immediately after generation, there is a problem that the polymer radical generated at the corner reacts with oxygen in the external atmosphere and is not very effective in capturing residual oxygen in the container. .
[0011]
As described above, in the conventional technique, there is a time gap between generation of active sites (for example, polymer radicals) for oxygen absorption and absorption of residual oxygen in the container, and this gap is eliminated. It is desirable to generate the active site when it is desired to absorb the residual oxygen. For example, in order to improve the preservability of the contents, the contents are hot-filled or the package after filling and sealing is heat sterilized. Since they act at the same time, the influence of residual oxygen is prominent on food deterioration and flavor reduction. Therefore, it is desirable to perform deoxygenation in an initial stage of sterilization from sealing.
[0012]
Furthermore, the conventional oxygen absorbent has a problem that the substance itself or a substance generated by the absorption of oxygen elutes in the content, and the flavor of the content is impaired. For example, iron as an oxygen absorbent tends to damage the flavor of the content even if a small amount is mixed in the content. Thus, the appearance of an oxygen absorbent that does not tend to elute into the contents is desired.
[0013]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to generate an active site for oxygen absorption by light irradiation at a time when oxygen is desired to be absorbed, and to use an oxygen absorber that does not tend to elute into the contents. In providing packaging material that was.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a packaging material capable of easily producing a package having excellent contents preservability and flavor retention characteristics by a simple operation.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, at least a primary particle diameter of 1000 nm or less of anatase type titanium dioxide and a radical decomposition type olefin resin is contained, and the titanium dioxide and the olefin resin are mixed in 0.005 to 0.001: 1. There is provided an oxygen absorbent characterized in that it is activated by irradiation with ultraviolet rays.
According to the present invention, there is also provided a packaging material, particularly a packaging container or lid, provided with the oxygen absorbent layer.
[0015]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Used in the present inventionTitanium dioxide (hereinafter sometimes referred to as “photocatalyst”)Is also called a photoreactive semiconductor, and mainly generates a pair of electrons and holes by irradiation with ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 400 nm or less, and performs a photocatalytic reaction.
That is, TiO2When a light having a larger energy than the band gap (energy difference between the valence band and the conduction band) is irradiated to the photo semiconducting metal oxide, etc., electrons are ejected from the valence band and conducted. It moves to the band (excitation), and particles (holes) having a positive charge are generated in the valence band. Electronic (e−) And holes (p*) Move to the surface of the oxide particles, and as shown in the following formula, electrons participate in the reduction reaction and holes participate in the oxidation reaction.
Semiconductor + hν → e− + P* (1)
e− + O2 → O2 − (2)
p* + H2O → OH + H+ (3)
p* + OH− → OH (4)

However, in order to eliminate the troublesome handling of the oxygen absorbent separately, the oxygen absorbent is preferably provided integrally with a packaging material such as a container, a lid or other packaging material as an oxygen absorbent layer.
[0037]
Among the oxygen absorbents of the present invention, those in which a photocatalyst is dispersed in an organic polymer are used in a single layer or in the form of a multilayer combined with other packaging materials. It can be used for applications such as pouches, gusseted pouches, standing pouches, pillow packaging bags, tube containers, cups, bottles, trays, various cans, and container lids.
[0038]
In the case of a multi-layered packaging material, in order to prevent oxygen permeation through the vessel wall, it is preferable to have an oxygen barrier layer in the vessel wall. It is preferable to arrange an oxygen absorbent layer.
The oxygen absorbent layer may be exposed on the inner surface side of the container, or an oxygen permeable resin layer may be provided inside the oxygen absorbent layer.
[0039]
In FIG. 1 showing several examples of the layer structure of the packaging material of the present invention, the left side is shown as the container inner surface side and the right side is shown as the container outer surface side.
FIG. 1A shows an example in which the packaging material 1 is composed of a single layer of the oxygen
In the case of a single layer, the thickness is generally in the range of 1 to 5000 μm, particularly 20 to 1000 μm, although it varies depending on the container form.
[0040]
FIG. 1B shows an example in which the packaging material 1 has a two-layer structure, in which an oxygen
As the stretched plastic film, uniaxially stretched or biaxially stretched films of nylons, polyesters, or polypropylene exemplified above are used.
A vapor deposition layer made of an inorganic material may be formed on the side of the stretched plastic film that is the inner surface of the container.
The inorganic vapor-deposited plastic film is obtained by depositing an inorganic material, that is, a ceramic such as silicon oxide or alumina, on the surface of a plastic film substrate by vacuum vapor deposition, sputtering, ion plating, or the like. Although it is as thin as 50 to 1000 angstroms, it exhibits an excellent barrier property against oxygen and the like.
As the plastic film substrate, the above-mentioned stretched nylon film, stretched polyester film, and the like are suitable, but a stretched polypropylene film can also be used.
It is advantageous in terms of handling that the thickness of the inorganic vapor-deposited plastic film is in the range of 5 to 50 μm, particularly 10 to 30 μm.
On the other hand, it is desirable that the thickness of the oxygen absorbent layer is generally in the range of 5 to 200 μm, particularly 10 to 120 μm.
[0041]
FIG. 1C shows an example in which the packaging material 1 has a three-layer structure, in which the oxygen
Examples of the oxygen barrier layer include a gas barrier resin and an aluminum foil, and the inorganic vapor-deposited plastic film described above is also used.
The most suitable example of the gas barrier resin is an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, for example, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having an ethylene content of 20 to 60 mol%, particularly 25 to 50 mol%. A saponified copolymer obtained by saponifying the polymer so that the saponification degree is 96 mol% or more, particularly 99 mol% or more is used. The saponified ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer should have a molecular weight sufficient to form a film, and is generally 0.01 dl / measured at 30 ° C. in a 85:15 weight ratio of phenol: water. It is desirable to have a viscosity of g or more, particularly 0.05 dl / g or more. Other examples of the gas barrier resin having the above-mentioned characteristics include polyamides having 5 to 50, especially 6 to 20 amide groups per 100 carbon atoms; for example, nylon 6, nylon 6,6, nylon 6 / 6,6 copolymer, metaxylylene adipamide, nylon 6,10,
On the other hand, as the aluminum foil, all aluminum foils used in this type of packaging can be used, for example, pure aluminum or aluminum and other alloy metals, particularly aluminum alloys containing a small amount of magnesium, manganese, etc. are used. The This aluminum foil may be any of what is generally called soft, hard or semi-hard.
The thickness of the aluminum foil is preferably in the range of 5 to 50 μm, particularly 7 to 20 μm. When this thickness is less than the above range, the oxygen barrier property tends to be insufficient. On the other hand, when the thickness exceeds the above range, flexibility and flexibility as a packaging material tend to be reduced.
[0042]
FIG. 1D shows an example in which the packaging material 1 has a four-layer structure. The oxygen
As the oxygen permeable resin layer, the inner surface material made of the olefin-based resin exemplified above is suitable, and the inner surface material made of these olefin-based resin transmits oxygen in the container to the oxygen absorbent layer and packaging. It also gives heat sealability to the material.
The thickness of the inner surface material made of the olefin resin is suitably in the range of 10 to 200 μm, particularly 10 to 100 μm.
[0043]
For adhesion lamination, so-called dry lamination can be used, and each layer of the laminate may be bonded using an adhesive. For this purpose, an isocyanate-based or epoxy-based thermosetting adhesive resin can be used.
Of course, an adhesive made of a thermoplastic resin can also be used, for example, carboxylic acid, carboxylic anhydride, carboxylate, carboxylic acid amide, carboxylic acid ester, etc.
Is used in the main chain or in the side chain at a concentration of 1 to 700 milliquivalent (meq) / 100 g resin, particularly 10 to 500 meq / 100 g resin. Suitable examples of the thermoplastic adhesive resin include ethylene-acrylic acid copolymer, ion-crosslinked olefin copolymer, maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene, maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene, acrylic acid grafted polyolefin, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer. , One or a combination of two or more of copolyester, copolyamide and the like.
[0044]
The laminate can also be produced by an extrusion coating method or sandwich lamination. That is, a resin layer other than these layers can be melt-extruded on a stretched plastic film, a vapor-deposited film, an aluminum foil, or a laminate thereof to obtain a final laminate. In this extrusion coating, an anchor agent such as urethane or titanate can be applied in order to enhance the adhesiveness.
[0045]
In the case of soft packaging materials such as pouches, the above-exemplified materials can be made into bags by a method known per se to obtain various pouches.
Moreover, while forming the said laminated body into a cylinder shape and forming a seam, a nozzle can be adhere | attached on one edge part, and it can be set as a tube container.
[0046]
The present invention can also be applied to the use of plastic molded containers such as bottles. In this case, after melt-kneading with an extruder corresponding to each resin layer, it is pressed into a predetermined shape through a multilayer multiple die such as a T-die or a circular die. put out. Moreover, after melt-kneading with an injection machine corresponding to each resin layer, co-injection or successive injection into an injection mold is performed to produce a multilayer container or a preform for the container. The molded product may take the form of a film, sheet, bottle or tube forming parison or pipe, bottle or tube forming preform, and the like. Formation of a bottle from a parison, pipe or preform is easily performed by pinching off the extrudate with a pair of split molds and blowing a fluid into the inside. Further, after cooling the pipe or the preform, it is heated to a stretching temperature, stretched in the axial direction, and blow-stretched in the circumferential direction by a fluid pressure to obtain a stretch blow bottle or the like. Further, by applying the film or sheet to means such as vacuum forming, pressure forming, bulging forming, plug assist forming, etc., a packaging container such as a cup shape or a tray shape can be obtained.
[0047]
The present invention can also be applied to a container lid such as a cap or a can lid.
In the case of a cap, the cap shell is formed by means such as press molding or drawing, and the packaging material shown in FIG. 1 is applied to the inner surface of the cap shell in the form of a liner, or a disc-shaped packing is bonded. Etc. are applied.
In the case of a can lid, the metal plate on which the packaging material of FIG. 1 is laminated is press-molded so that the resin layer serving as the oxygen absorbent layer is on the inner surface side of the can.
[0048]
The present invention can also be applied to metal cans such as two-piece cans and three-piece cans.
In the case of a three-piece can, the coated metal plate laminated with the packaging material of FIG. 1 is used, this is formed into a cylindrical shape, and the uncoated end line portion is welded by a known electric resistance welding method. Cover the seam with resin to make a can body. Further, the end line portion can be thermally bonded via a nylon adhesive to form a can body, and when a metal tin layer is present at the end line portion, it can be joined with solder.
Further, in the case of a two-piece can, a bottomed can body having a total drawing ratio in the range of 1.1 to 4.0, particularly 1.5 to 3.0 by subjecting the coated metal plate to drawing or deep drawing. Manufacturing. Of course, thinning or ironing by bending and stretching can be performed at the time of deep drawing or subsequently. When performing ironing, a resin coating may be provided in advance, or a resin coating may be provided on the can body after ironing.
[0049]
As the metal plate in the can or the can lid, various surface-treated steel plates or light metal plates such as aluminum are used. As the surface-treated steel sheet, a cold-rolled steel sheet or foil fork is annealed and then secondary cold-rolled, and surface treatment such as zinc plating, tin plating, nickel plating, electrolytic chromic acid treatment, chromic acid treatment, or the like is performed. What carried out seed | species or more can be used. An example of a suitable surface-treated steel sheet is an electrolytic chromic acid-treated steel sheet, particularly 10 to 200 mg / m.21-50mg / m of metal chromium layer2And a chromium oxide layer (in terms of chromium metal), which has an excellent combination of resin adhesion and corrosion resistance. Other examples of surface-treated steel sheets are 0.5 to 11.2 g / m2It is a soft or hard tin plate or foil having a tin plating amount. This tin plate or foil is 0.5 to 100 mg / m in terms of metallic chromium.2It is desirable that the chromic acid or chromic acid / phosphoric acid treatment is performed.
As the light metal plate, an aluminum alloy plate is used in addition to a so-called pure aluminum plate or foil. Aluminum alloys excellent in terms of corrosion resistance and workability are Mn: 0.2 to 1.5% by weight, Mg: 0.8 to 5% by weight, Zn: 0.25 to 0.3% by weight, Cu: 0.15 to 0.25% by weight, with the balance being Al. These light metal plates or foils also have a chromium content of 3 to 300 mg / m in terms of metal chromium.2It is desirable that chromic acid treatment or chromic acid / phosphoric acid treatment is performed.
When used for caps, can lids, can bodies, etc., the thickness of the metal varies depending on the type of metal, but in the case of a surface-treated steel plate, 0.08 to 0.24 mm, and in the case of an aluminum plate, 0.1 to 0. Preferably it is in the range of 4 mm.
[0050]
The laminate of the oxygen absorbent layer on the metal plate can be produced by extrusion coating of the oxygen absorbent layer or by thermally bonding a previously formed oxygen absorbent film. When the resin of the oxygen absorbent layer is an olefin resin, it is preferable to apply an adhesive paint such as a paint in which olefin resin particles are dispersed on the surface of the metal plate.
[0051]
The surface opposite to the oxygen-absorbing resin layer of the metal plate, that is, the outer surface side, is preferably coated with a protective coating of resin. The protective coating can be formed by providing a protective coating or a thermoplastic resin film. This is done by laminating. As the protective coating, any protective coating made of thermosetting and thermoplastic resin: modified epoxy paint such as phenol-epoxy paint, amino-epoxy paint, etc .: vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate, for example Partially saponified copolymer, vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-maleic anhydride copolymer, epoxy-modified, epoxyamino-modified or epoxyphenol-modified vinyl or modified vinyl paint such as vinyl paint: acrylic resin paint: styrene A single or a combination of two or more of synthetic rubber paints such as butadiene copolymers is used. These paints are in the form of organic solvent solutions such as enamel or lacquer, or in the form of aqueous dispersions or aqueous solutions, such as roller coating, spray coating, immersion coating, electrostatic coating, electrophoretic coating, etc. Apply to the material. Of course, when the resin paint is thermosetting, the paint is baked if necessary. From the standpoint of corrosion resistance and workability, the protective coating generally desirably has a thickness (dry state) of 2 to 30 μm, particularly 3 to 20 μm. Moreover, in order to improve workability, various lubricants can be contained in the coating film. Examples of the thermoplastic resin film used for lamination include olefin-based resin films such as polyethylene, polypropylene, ethylene-propylene copolymer, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-acrylic ester copolymer, and ionomer: polyethylene terephthalate, Polyester film such as polybutylene terephthalate, ethylene terephthalate / isophthalate copolymer: Polyamide film such as nylon 6, nylon 6,6,
[0052]
The present invention is also applicable to glass containers. As the glass, any glass in the form of a bottle or a cup is used.
In the case of a glass container, the inner surface of a glass bottle or the like is coated with an oxygen-absorbing resin by means such as coating or fluid immersion.
[0053]
The activation of the oxygen absorbent of the present invention is performed by ultraviolet irradiation. As the ultraviolet rays, ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 400 nm or less, particularly 250 to 400 nm are generally used in accordance with the band gap of the photocatalyst to be used. In the case of anatase type titanium dioxide, ultraviolet rays having a wavelength of 250 to 400 nm are suitable.
A black light lamp that emits light having a wavelength of 300 to 400 nm is suitable as an ultraviolet ray source. Of course, a high-pressure mercury lamp, a low-pressure mercury lamp, an argon lamp, a xenon lamp, a cadmium lamp, a halogen lamp, a metal halide lamp, a tungsten lamp, and deuterium. A light source such as a lamp or sunlight can be used.
[0054]
The ultraviolet irradiation of the packaging material filled with the oxygen absorbent of the present invention or the packaging material provided with the oxygen absorbent layer can be performed prior to filling the contents, or can be performed after filling the contents.
In the case where an opaque material such as a metal is interposed between the oxygen absorbent layer and the outer surface of the packaging material, the oxygen absorbent layer is irradiated with ultraviolet rays prior to filling the contents.
On the other hand, when an opaque material such as metal is not interposed between the oxygen absorbent layer and the outer surface of the packaging material and is transparent, the oxygen absorbent layer is irradiated with ultraviolet rays before filling the contents. Alternatively, after the contents are filled and sealed, ultraviolet irradiation may be performed.
[0055]
The intensity of the ultraviolet rays to be irradiated varies depending on the amount of oxygen to be absorbed and removed and the area to be irradiated, but generally speaking, it is 1 to 2000 mW / cm.2It is desirable to be in the range. Further, the irradiation time is preferably in the range of 0.01 to 60 minutes, although it varies depending on the intensity of ultraviolet rays, the amount of oxygen to be absorbed and removed, and the like.
If combined use of filling deaeration sealing method, nitrogen gas replacement sealing method, water vapor replacement sealing method, etc. and ultraviolet irradiation, the oxygen concentration in the package is low, so oxygen absorption by short ultraviolet irradiation of about 5 minutes It should be understood that removal can be performed.
[0056]
On the other hand, in the pre-filling ultraviolet irradiation method, it is preferable to fill and seal the contents while the radicals are active. Generally, the filling and sealing can be completed within 60 minutes, particularly within 5 minutes after UV irradiation. desirable.
