Description
【0001】
オフィス内のような狭い範囲のLAN(Local Area Network)においては、IEEE802(IEEE 802 LAN/MAN Standards)で規定されているパケット通信方式を採用すれば良い。
【0050】
M=M1×R1/R2 (1)
【0057】
J = Pマスタ +(P用紙 +Pインク × S)× N (3)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention, for example, a network image scanner that optically reads an image from a document and transmits the obtained image data to a printing apparatus connected via an electronic network, and a document processing program on an information processing apparatus The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus and an information processing program suitable for a network, a printer, a driver, or the like that transmits an electronic document edited by the above method to a printing apparatus connected via an electronic network.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as disclosed in, for example, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 64-72189, a printing system with a minimum printing cost is selected from a printing system composed of a plurality of types of printing apparatuses such as a dry copying machine and a stencil printing machine according to the number of printed sheets Techniques are known for automatically selecting devices and minimizing printing costs.
[0003]
The stencil printer can print about 10,000 sheets using the master making master once the master making master is made from the master base paper. Here, when using a scanner-integrated stencil printing machine, the total printing cost and printing unit price (printing cost per sheet) such as master base paper cost and image forming material (ink) cost according to the number of printed sheets are shown. 25. In the example of FIG. 25, the image data (Area Coverage) of the image forming material (ink) is “10%” based on data printed on A4 size paper. Here, the “covering area ratio” corresponds to the “printing ratio” when printing characters, for example, and indicates the ratio of the area where an image forming material such as ink adheres to the printing surface of the paper.
[0004]
As shown in FIG. 25, when the number of printed sheets is “1”, the printing unit price is “30.1 yen”. When the number of printed sheets is “2,000 sheets”, the printing unit price is “1.1 yen”. " That is, in the stencil printing apparatus, the printing unit price decreases as the number of printed sheets increases.
[0005]
On the other hand, an electrostatic copying machine generally uses a method called “perture (performance charge fee)” to pre-determine a printing unit price per copy and calculate a printing cost based on the unit price. Therefore, for example, when using a printing system having an electrostatic copying machine with a printing unit price of “6 yen” and the stencil printing machine shown in FIG. Printing can be performed at a minimum printing cost by selecting an electrophotographic copying machine and following the selection criteria for selecting a stencil printing machine if it is “6 sheets or more”.
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the following problems occur when the coverage ratio of the image forming material (ink) is different.
[0007]
FIG. 26 shows the master base paper cost and printing in the case where image data with an image forming material (ink) coverage area of “20%” is printed on A4 size paper using the stencil printing machine shown in FIG. A total printing cost such as an image forming material (ink) cost corresponding to the number of sheets and a printing unit price are shown.
[0008]
As shown in FIG. 26, when the coverage ratio of the image forming material (ink) is “20%”, the printing unit price may be “less than 6 yen” when the number of printed sheets becomes “7 or more”. Recognize. Therefore, when the covering area ratio of the image forming material (ink) is “20%”, a printing system including an electrostatic copying machine with a printing unit price of “6 yen” and a stencil printing machine shown in FIG. 26 is used. In this case, if the number of printed sheets is “6 sheets or less”, an electrostatic copying machine is selected, and if it is “7 sheets or more”, a stencil printing machine is selected. Unless selection is made according to a selection criterion different from that at “10%”, printing cannot be performed at the minimum printing cost.
[0009]
As described above, in the technology for selecting a conventional printing apparatus, printing is not necessarily reliably performed at the minimum printing cost, and a rational printing apparatus selection process has not necessarily been performed.
[0010]
SUMMARY An advantage of some aspects of the invention is that it provides an information processing apparatus and an information processing program that enable more rational printing apparatus selection processing.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
An information processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention is an information processing apparatus that transmits input image data to a printing apparatus connected via an electronic network, and causes the printing apparatus to execute a printing process. For each of a plurality of printing apparatuses connected via a network, a cost information storage unit that stores printing cost information, and an image in which the paper is covered with an image forming material when the image data is printed on the paper The image data is printed based on a covering area calculation unit that calculates a forming material covering area, the image forming material covering area, the printing cost information for each of the plurality of printing apparatuses, and the number of printed image data. A printing cost calculation unit that calculates the printing cost whenThe covering area calculating unit samples the image data according to a predetermined sampling interval, and the sample image data obtained by the sampling unit is a binary image composed of binary values of white and black. A binarization unit for converting to data, a black pixel counting unit for counting the number of black pixels of the binary image data obtained by the binarization unit, and the number of black pixels counted by the black pixel counting unit A black pixel equivalent area calculating unit that calculates the image forming material covering area from the sample interval and the resolution of the printing apparatus. It is characterized by that.
[0012]
An information processing program according to an embodiment of the present invention is an information processing program that transmits input image data to a printing apparatus connected via an electronic network, and causes the printing apparatus to execute a printing process. Cost information storage processing for storing printing cost information for each of a plurality of printing apparatuses connected via the electronic network, and the paper is covered with an image forming material when the image data is printed on the paper. The image data based on the coverage area calculation process for calculating the image formation material coverage area, the image formation material coverage area, the printing cost information for each of the plurality of printing apparatuses, and the number of prints of the image data Print processing for calculating the printing cost when printingThe covering area calculation process includes: a sampling process for sampling the image data according to a predetermined sampling interval; and a sample image data obtained by the sampling process, a binary image composed of binary values of white and black A binarization process for converting to data, a black pixel count process for counting the number of black pixels of the binary image data obtained by the binarization process, and a black pixel count counted by the black pixel count process A black pixel equivalent area calculating process for calculating the image forming material covering area from the sample interval and the resolution of the printing apparatus. It is characterized by that.
[0013]
According to such a configuration, when a plurality of printing apparatuses are connected via an electronic network, the user can know the printing cost necessary for printing image data using the printing apparatus. Can arbitrarily select a desired printing device from a plurality of printing devices according to the budget, and can rationally execute the printing process. In particular, even if a printing device whose printing unit price changes according to the number of printed sheets, such as a stencil printing machine, is included in a plurality of printing devices, the printing cost required when printing image data is accurately calculated. be able to.Furthermore, the size of the image data used when calculating the image forming material covering area by calculating the image forming material covering area using the sample image obtained by sampling at a predetermined sample interval. Can be made smaller than the image data to be printed, so that the calculation time of the image forming material covering area can be shortened.
[0014]
Further, it is desirable to select a printing device with the minimum printing cost from a plurality of printing devices, and to transmit the image data to the selected printing device. According to such a configuration, the printing device with the minimum printing cost is automatically selected from a plurality of printing devices connected via the electronic network, and image data is automatically transmitted to the printing device. Therefore, the user can execute the printing process with the minimum printing cost without being aware of the printing cost generated in each printing apparatus connected via the electronic network.
[0016]
Furthermore, it is preferable that the printing cost calculation unit calculates the printing cost by adding the print density of the image data to the image forming material covering area, the printing cost information, and the number of prints of the image data. According to such a configuration, it is possible to calculate the printing cost with higher accuracy for a printing apparatus whose printing unit price changes according to the printing density among a plurality of printing apparatuses.

[Configuration of printing system]
The printing system shown in FIG. 1 has a configuration in which a
[0022]
Here, the “electronic network” means a general communication network using telecommunications technology. The telecommunication technologies that make up the communication network are hierarchical. In the physical layer, which is the lowest layer, a signal is transmitted by radio (electromagnetic wave) or wired (metal cable or optical fiber cable). In the network layer, which is an upper layer of the physical layer, signals are converted by a circuit switching method used in a telephone communication line or a packet switching method used in the Internet. In the Internet, TCP / IP (Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol) is adopted as a protocol, and a TCP / IP packet signal is exchanged by a router. In a narrow area LAN (Local Area Network) such as an office, a packet communication system defined by IEEE 802 (IEEE 802 LAN / MAN Standards) may be employed. In IEEE 802, a protocol called CSMA / CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detection) is used in the network layer, enabling a large number of electronic devices to transmit and receive packets to and from each other.

Specifically, when the image forming material covering area is “S = 1” and the print density “light” is selected, the number of printed sheets is the minimum from “1” to “32” as shown in FIG. The
[0109]
As described above, when a printing apparatus capable of setting the printing density stepwise is installed in the printing system, it is possible to select a more optimal printing apparatus by adding the printing density as a parameter for calculating the printing cost.
[0110]
As described above, according to the fourth embodiment, the printing cost of each printing apparatus is calculated by adding the print density in addition to the image forming material covering area and the number of printed sheets, and the minimum printing is performed based on the calculated printing cost. The cost printing device is automatically selected, so even if there are printing devices with different printing costs depending on the printing density in the printing system, the user can execute a reasonable printing process without being aware of the printing costs.
