Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, and a facsimile machine, and more particularly to an image forming apparatus provided with a mechanism for conveying toner, developer, and the like.
As a conventional image forming apparatus, an image carrier (for example, a photosensitive drum), a developing unit that develops an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive drum to form a toner image, and a photosensitive drum are arranged opposite to each other. An intermediate transfer member (intermediate transfer belt), a primary transfer device for transferring a toner image carried on a photosensitive drum onto the intermediate transfer belt, and a toner image on the intermediate transfer belt to a recording medium (for example, paper). There are those equipped with a secondary transfer device. In such an image forming apparatus, since toner remains on the photosensitive drum after the primary transfer, the remaining toner is cleaned and removed by a drum cleaner, and then the next toner image is formed. Further, since toner remains on the intermediate transfer belt after the secondary transfer, the next toner image is transferred after the residual toner is cleaned and removed by a belt cleaner. The residual toner (waste toner) collected by these drum cleaners and belt cleaners is sequentially transported and collected in a collection container (waste toner bottle) by a so-called trickle system using a waste toner transport screw, for example. Is done.
As a method for collecting waste toner, conventionally, a cleaner container having a waste toner conveying screw is configured to be connectable to a waste toner bottle, and the collected waste toner is discharged from a connecting portion between the cleaner container and the waste toner bottle. There is a technique for dropping it onto the surface (for example, see Patent Document 1). In
Here, in recent years, there has been a further increase in demand for downsizing and low cost for the image processing apparatus, and these demands have been most strongly expressed for the waste toner collecting apparatus that collects waste toner. However, in the shutter configurations shown in
The present invention has been made in order to solve the above technical problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a member for sealing a collection box or the like when transporting toner, developer, or the like. Even in that case, it is to reduce the space and cost of the apparatus.
Another object is to prevent leakage of toner and developer at the joint when transporting the toner and developer, such as when joining the toner collection pipe and the toner collection bottle and when removing the toner collection bottle. It is to improve the function.
Still another object is to enhance the toner and developer transport function while maintaining the sealing function.
For this purpose, in the present invention, a shutter member as a seal member is provided in an opening provided in a box such as a toner recovery bottle, and the shutter member is made of an elastic member such as polyurethane, and the opening of the box is provided. A slit is formed in accordance with the shape of the pipe inserted into the pipe. The shape of the slit is devised in accordance with, for example, the position of an opening for discharging waste toner or waste developer conveyed by a pipe. That is, an image forming apparatus to which the present invention is applied has a box body such as a toner recovery bottle having a predetermined opening by transporting toner or developer by a transport unit, dropping the transported toner or developer from an opening. In the receiving means, the toner or developer conveyed from the conveying means is received by inserting a portion having the opening of the conveying means into the opening, and the slit provided in the opening in the receiving means With the shutter means composed of an elastic body having, in the state where the conveying means is inserted or in the state where the conveying means is not inserted, the toner or developer from the receiving means is suppressed, and the shutter means in regions where the bottom when the conveying means is inserted, extends in a substantially horizontal direction, so as to avoid the opening when the transport means is inserted It is characterized by having a bottom slit that spread in the transverse direction. Alternatively, this shutter means is characterized by having a chord-like slit having a predetermined length in the vicinity of the outer peripheral portion of the region that is in the downward direction when provided in the opening.
Here, the conveying means is a pipe having a curved portion, further provided with an opening at the bottom, and when inserted into the receiving means, the toner or developer is dropped from the opening to the receiving means. In addition, the shutter means is provided with a bottom slit for deformation so as not to block the opening in the conveying means when the conveying means is inserted into the receiving means. . Further, a bottom slit is provided so that the opening is deformed in a state where the opening is not blocked when the conveying means is inserted. Furthermore, the shape of the slit of this shutter means is determined so that a gap generated in the vicinity of the bottom becomes small when a conveying means made of a pipe having a curved portion is inserted. The shutter means includes a vertical slit extending in a vertical direction from a slit central portion of the bottom slit, and has a bottom slit in a center portion of a predetermined dimension from the outermost peripheral portion of the vertical slit.
On the other hand, the present invention has a conveying means for conveying toner or developer and dropping the toner or developer conveyed from a predetermined opening, and a predetermined opening, and the opening of the conveying means is provided in this opening. By inserting the portion, the receiving means for receiving the toner or developer conveyed from the conveying means, and an opening provided in the receiving means, which is composed of an elastic body having a slit, has a sealing effect in the receiving means, for example, And shutter means that is a sealing member made of polyurethane, and the shutter means is deformed so as not to block the opening in the transport means when the transport means is inserted into the receiving means. More specifically, when a pipe having a curvature is inserted, the elastic body portion near the bottom is deformed so as to be opened to the side. Here, the opening in the receiving means is formed in a state opened in a substantially horizontal direction, and the conveying means is inserted into the opening from a substantially horizontal direction.
The present invention is attached to the image forming apparatus, a toner recovery bottle incorporating the waste toner or developer from the image forming apparatus, an opening pipe member is inserted, it is provided in this opening, this pipe member scattering from the opening of the toner or the developer is conveyed can be grasped by those with a shutter member inhibits Te. This shutter member is provided with an elastic portion that is deformed by insertion or removal of the pipe member, and an upper portion and a bottom portion of the pipe member when the pipe member is inserted. Including a slit portion. Here, if the slit portion is characterized in that when the pipe member is inserted, the elastic portion is deformed so as not to block the opening provided in the bottom portion of the pipe member, toner or developer It is preferable in that it does not adversely affect the conveyance. Moreover, it has an adhesion part which affixes an elastic part with respect to opening, This slit part is provided in the elastic part in which an adhesion part does not exist, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.
The present invention also provides a toner recovery bottle that is attached to an image forming apparatus and takes in waste toner or developer from the image forming apparatus, and includes an opening into which a pipe member is inserted from a substantially horizontal direction. A shutter member that suppresses scattering of toner or developer conveyed by the pipe member from the opening, and the shutter member is formed in the elastic portion that is deformed by insertion or removal of the pipe member. And a slit portion having different slit shapes in the upward direction and the downward direction when provided in the opening. More specifically, the slit shape of the slit portion is determined so as to open the elastic portion to the side when the pipe member is inserted in the downward direction.
From another point of view, the toner collection bottle is provided at the opening of the box, and allows insertion of a pipe having a curved portion around it, and before the pipe is inserted and before the pipe is inserted. In this case, a shutter member having a sealing effect on the box body is provided, and this shutter member has an elastic portion that is deformed by the insertion of the tube material and a slit portion formed in the elastic portion, and the tube portion is inserted into the slit portion. For a part of the curvature portion at the time of being formed, a chordal slit having a predetermined length is provided in the vicinity of the outer peripheral portion. Here, if this slit portion is characterized by dividing the chordal slit by a slit extending from the central portion when the tube material is inserted, the slit portion can be separated from the divided portion by inserting the tube material having a curvature portion. It is excellent in that it can be spread in the horizontal direction. The chord-shaped slit is conscious of the chord with respect to the arc of the circle, but is not necessarily a straight line and may have a predetermined curved portion.
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to enhance the sealing function and the transport function of toner, developer, and the like at a joint portion such as a pipe and a bottle that transports toner, developer, and the like.

Next, the operation of the image forming apparatus according to the present embodiment will be described. A color material reflected light image of a document read by a document reading device (not shown) and color material image data formed by a personal computer (not shown) are, for example, R (red), G (green), and B (blue). Each 8-bit reflectance data is input to the

FIG. 6 is a view showing the
FIG. 7 is a front view of the
A
Further, the

Next, shutter members (seal members) used for the
FIGS. 10A and 10B are views for explaining the shutter member 200 to which the present embodiment is applied, and FIGS. 11A to 11C are openings in which the shutter member 200 is provided. It is a figure for demonstrating the state by which the pipe 250 which has curvature parts, such as a column shape and an ellipse shape, was inserted. On the other hand, FIGS. 12A to 12C are diagrams showing a conventional shutter member 300 to which the present embodiment is not applied. In the present embodiment, pipes 250 serving as toner and developer conveying means are inserted in substantially horizontal directions into these openings provided in substantially vertical directions.
As shown in FIGS. 10A and 10B, a shutter member 200 to which the present embodiment is applied includes, as an elastic body (elastic member), a
Further, various slits (cuts and cuts) are provided at the center of the
Specifically, the slits of the shutter member 200 (polyurethane 201) are
When a pipe that conveys waste toner, waste developer, toner before use, and the like is inserted through the shutter member 200, the
Here, in order to facilitate understanding of the present embodiment, problems of the conventional slit shape will be described. As shown in FIG. 12A, in the conventional shutter member 300, a cross slit 340 having a horizontal direction and a vertical direction is formed in the
Further, as shown in FIG. 12C, the pipe 250 is provided with an opening 251 for dropping the conveyed toner and developer. At this time, in the conventional cross slit 340, the end of the
FIGS. 11A to 11C are views for explaining a state where the pipe 250 is inserted into the slit portion of the shutter member 200. FIG. When a pipe 250 having a predetermined curvature, such as a cylindrical pipe having a circular cross section, is inserted into each slit as described with reference to FIG. 10A, the
FIG. 11B shows a cross section when the cylindrical pipe 250 is inserted, and shows a state of the pipe 250 as seen from the lateral direction of the cross section. The pipe 250 is provided with a conveying
On the other hand, the opening A obtained by the
FIG. 13 is a view showing a modification of the shutter member 200 shown in FIG. In the modification shown in FIG. 13, a bottom slit 213 is provided as in FIG. The difference from FIG. 10 is that the
Also in the modified example shown in FIG. 13, as in the case shown in FIG. 10, the gap around the bottom of the pipe 250 is reduced, and at the same time a part of the opening 251 provided at the bottom is not blocked, 70 and the inside of the
As described above in detail, according to the present embodiment, since a simple shutter member is used for transporting toner, developer, etc., the space and cost can be greatly reduced as compared with the prior art. Can do. Also at this time, the pipe 250 can be inserted, and when it is inserted (at the time of joining), it performs a sealing function that suppresses leakage to the side as much as possible, while the pipe 250 is not inserted ( At the time of removal), the toner (developer) scattering function from the
In addition, the shutter member 200 conveys toner before use in addition to the case where it is provided at the connection portion between the pipe and the box when collecting the waste developer or the waste toner as described above. It is also possible to provide it at the pipe to be connected and its connection location.
