本発明は、エンジンのクランク軸3等のような回転軸に発生する捩り振動や、トルク変動を吸収する手段として用いられるダイナミックダンパに関する。

【従来の技術】
エンジンの駆動は、吸気、圧縮、爆発(膨張)及び排気の各行程を繰り返しながら行われ、図6に示されるように、ピストン1の往復運動をコンロッド2を介してクランク軸3で回転運動に変換しているため、このクランク軸3には、回転に伴って捩り振動(回転方向の振動)が生じる。そしてこのような捩り振動の増大による不具合の発生を防止するため、前記エンジンのクランク室4から外部へ突出した前記クランク軸3の軸端3a,3bにはダイナミックダンパ100が取り付けられ、その一種として、従来、例えば図7に示されるような遠心振り子式ダイナミックダンパが知られている。

遠心振り子式ダイナミックダンパは、振動数が回転数に比例して変化する遠心振り子103による吸振機構を備えるもので、例えば、エンジンのクランク室4から突出したクランク軸3の先端3a又は後端3bに取り付けられる円盤状のハブ101と、このハブ101にその軸心から所定の半径Rの円周C上に等間隔で配置された複数のピン102と、これら各ピン102に回転可能に取り付けられた遠心振り子103とを備えるものである。そしてこの構成によれば、ハブ101に前記クランク軸3の捩り振動が入力されると、各遠心振り子103が、ピン102を中心としてハブ101(クランク軸3)の軸心Oとピン102の軸心Pとを通る線Qの両側へ揺動し、その揺動によるトルクの方向は前記捩り振動のトルクと反対であり、これによって制振力を得る。

ところが、上記従来技術による遠心振り子式ダイナミックダンパにおいては、遠心振り子103を回転可能に支持するためのピン102及び軸受(図示省略)が必須であるため、構造が複雑になるばかりでなく、製造原価が高くなり、信頼性にも問題があった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は、上記のような問題に鑑みてなされたものであって、その主な技術的課題は、構造が簡素で、振動低減効果の信頼性が高いダイナミックダンパを製作可能とすることにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記従来の技術的課題は、本発明によって有効に解決することができる。
すなわち本発明に係るダイナミックダンパは、エンジンのクランク室内に位置して前記エンジンのクランク軸3に同心的に取り付けられる回転盤に、少なくともこの回転盤の内周側を向いた面が軸心と平行な線を曲率中心とする円筒状凹面をなす複数の収容室が円周方向所定間隔で設けられ、前記各収容室内に転動マスがそれぞれ転動可能な状態に収容され、前記各収容室に、給油孔が開設されたものである。この構成において、前記転動マスは、遠心力を受けて前記収容室内で円筒状凹面上を転動しつつ往復挙動することによって、従来の遠心振り子式ダイナミックダンパにおける遠心振り子と同様の吸振機能を奏するものであり、ピンによる支持構造を必要とせず、回転盤がクランク室内に位置してクランク軸3に取り付けられるので、クランク室内に循環供給される潤滑油の一部が給油孔を通じて収容室内へ供給される。

【発明の実施の形態】
図1は、本発明に係るダイナミックダンパの好ましい第一の実施形態を概略的に示すものである。この実施形態によるダイナミックダンパ10は、後述する自動車用エンジンのクランク軸の捩り振動を低減するもので、参照符号11は内周のボス部11aにおいて前記クランク軸に取り付けられる回転盤としてのハブである。

ハブ11には、90°の位相間隔で四つの収容室12が片面から凹設されている。各収容室12は、ハブ11の軸心O11を中心とする半径R12の円周C12を通り前記軸心O11と平行な線を曲率中心P12とする円筒面状に形成されており、その開口端部は、それぞれボス部11aの一端外周面に嵌着された金属板からなる円盤状の側板13によって塞がれている。

側板13の外周縁には、略U字形の切欠13aが各収容室12に対応する90°の位相間隔で形成されている。各切欠13aの内端は前記各収容室12の開口部の内周領域に達し、これによって給油孔14が構成されている。

各収容室12内には、それぞれ転動マス15が収容されている。この転動マス15は、例えば図2(A)に示されるような円柱状、同(B)に示されるような円筒状、あるいは同(C)に示されるような球状等を呈するもので、その半径r15は収容室12の半径r12よりも小さいものとなっている。したがってこの転動マス15は、ハブ11の回転時には遠心力によって収容室12内をハブ11の外周側へ向けて移動し、ハブ11にクランク軸3からの捩り振動が入力されることによって、軸心O11と収容室12の室央(曲率中心P12)とを通る線Q11の両側を往復するように、前記収容室12の内面のうち前記軸心O11側を向いた円筒状凹面12a上を転動するものである。

詳しくは、収容室12の円筒状凹面12a上を転動する転動マス15の重心G15の軌跡の半径(挙動半径という)Δrは、転動マス15の半径r15と収容室12の半径(円筒状凹面12aの曲率半径)r12との差に相当する。すなわちクランク軸3と共に回転するハブ11に捩り振動が入力されると、この転動マス15は、収容室12の室央に相当する前記円筒状凹面12aの曲率中心P12を中心とする挙動半径Δrをもって転がりながら、振り子のように往復挙動する。

ここで、ハブ11の角速度をωとすると、転動マス15が図3(A)又は(B)のようなコロ状のものである場合、その往復挙動の振動数feは、挙動半径Δrと、前記角速度ωに依存する遠心力の場と、転動マス15の慣性質量とによって、

すなわち、R12及びΔrを適切に設定することによって、転動マス15の往復挙動の振動数feはエンジンの回転におけるn次(例えば2次)の捩り振動の振動数と常に同一となり、かつ前記往復挙動が、入力される捩り振動と所定の位相差をもって行われることにより制振方向のトルクを発生する。このため、あらゆる回転数において前記n次振動を有効に低減することができる。

また、転動マス15の半径r15と収容室12の半径(円筒状凹面12aの曲率半径)r12によって、前記転動マス15の挙動半径Δrを著しく小さくすることができるので、nの値を高くして、高い次数の捩り振動の低減に有効なダイナミックダンパとすることができる。しかも、挙動半径Δrを小さくすることによって転動マス15の半径r15が必然的に小さくなるということはないので、転動マス15に所要の質量を与えて吸振性を向上させることができる。

更に、このダイナミックダンパ10によれば、図7に示される従来の遠心振り子式ダイナミックダンパのようなピンや軸受による支持構造を必要としないため、構造が簡素である。しかも、転動マス15による吸振系を多数設ける場合は、これに伴ってハブ11に形成する収容室12の数も増大するため、重量の増大を来さない。

図3は自動車用エンジンの概略構造を示すものである。この図における参照符号3は、各気筒内のピストン1の往復運動をコンロッド2を介して回転運動に変換するクランク軸で、クランク室4から外部へ突出したこのクランク軸3の先端3a及び後端3bにはそれぞれ補機に駆動力を伝達するためのプーリ5及びはずみ車であるフライホイール6が取り付けられている。本発明のダイナミックダンパ10は、この図3に一点鎖線で示されるように、クランク室4内に配置され、クランク軸3のクランクアームの両側部分3c〜3gのうち、一箇所又は複数箇所に取り付けられる。

エンジン内部では、クランク室4の下部に設けられたオイルパン7から、潤滑油(エンジンオイル)が図示されていないオイルポンプによって吸い上げられて各ピストン1の作動部へ供給され、そこから落下しあるいは流れ落ちてオイルパン7へ戻る過程で、各部を潤滑する。そして、前記クランク室4内に位置してクランク軸3に取り付けられた本発明のダイナミックダンパ10には、その側板13に給油孔14が開設されているため、エンジン内部を循環されている前記エンジンオイルの一部がこの給油孔14から収容室12内へ入り込み、この収容室12の内面と転動マス15との間を良好に潤滑する。したがって転動マス15の作動が円滑に行われると共に、摩耗等が抑制され、吸振機能の信頼性の高いものとすることができる。

図1に示される実施形態においては、給油孔14が側板13の外周縁に形成したU字形切欠13aからなるものとしたが、その他にも例えば図4に例示したような構成とすることができる。

すなわち図4において、(A)は、給油孔14が、側板13の外周縁に各収容室12に対応する90°の位相間隔で形成された切り起こし部13bからなるものである。(B)は、給油孔14が、側板13に各収容室12と対応する90°の位相間隔で開設した小孔からなるものである。(C)は、収容室12がハブ11を軸方向に貫通した円孔状に形成され、その軸方向両端開口が、ボス部11aの両端外周面に嵌着された二枚の側板13A,13Bによって塞がれ、この双方の側板13A,13Bに、小孔からなる給油孔14が開設されたものである。

なお、収容室12の配置はハブ11の重心のアンバランスを生じない位置関係であれば良く、図1のように90°の位相間隔とすることには限定されない。

ところで、クランク軸3の捩り方向固有振動数がft である場合、このクランク軸3におけるn次の捩り振動は、回転数がft /nの時に捩れ角が最大となることが知られている。すなわち、例えば前記回転数が比較的低速であるft/4の時には4次の捩り振動のピークが現れ、それより高速であるft /2の時には2次の捩り振動のピークが現れる。したがって、上記構成のダイナミックダンパにおいては、収容室12と転動マス15との組み合わせを、(4)式におけるn値の互いに異なる複数組設定することによって、複数の次数の捩り振動を低減可能とすることが一層好ましい。

図5はその一例としての実施形態を示すものである。すなわちこのダイナミックダンパ10において、90°の位相間隔で設けられた四つの収容室のうち、互いに180°対称位置にある収容室12A,12Aは、それぞれハブ11の軸心O11を中心とする半径R12の円周C12を通り前記軸心O11と平行な線を曲率中心P12A とする円筒面状に形成されている。また、これとは90°異なる位相で互いに180°対称位置にある収容室12B,12Bは長孔状をなすものであって、外周側の円筒状凹面12aと内周側の円筒状凸面12bとを有し、その曲率中心P12B は、前記円周C12上にある。

円形の収容室12Aの半径r12A と、長孔状の収容室12Bにおける円筒状凹面12aの曲率半径r12B は互いに同一であるのに対し、長孔状の収容室12B内に収容された転動マス15Bの半径r15B は、円形の収容室12A内に収容された転動マス15Aの半径r15A より小さいものとなっている。このため、相対的に小径の転動マス15Bは、その挙動半径Δrが大きくなって、(4)式におけるnの値が小さくなり、相対的に大径の転動マス15Aは、その挙動半径Δrが小さくなるので、前記nの値が大きくなる。

ハブ11の軸方向一側又は両側に設けられた側板13には、給油孔14A,14Bが開設されている。これら給油孔14A,14Bは、先に説明した図1又は図4と同様のものである。

したがってこの実施形態によれば、転動マス15Aは、クランク軸3の特定次数の振動数と常に同一の振動数で入力振動と反対方向へ挙動することによって、あらゆる回転数においてこの次数の振動を有効に低減する動的吸振系とすることができる。同様に転動マス15Bは、それより高次数の捩り振動をあらゆる回転数において有効に低減する動的吸振系とすることができる。

なお、上記実施形態のような構成のほか、例えば図1における収容室12の円筒状凹面12aの曲率半径r12を変えることによって転動マス15の挙動半径Δrを互いに異なるものとしたり、あるいはハブ11の軸心O11を中心とする前記円筒状凹面12aの曲率中心P12の回転軌跡(円周C12)の半径R12を異なるものとすることによって、R12/Δrの異なる複数種類の組み合わせを設定し、転動マス15に、異なる次数の捩り振動に対する低減機能を与えることができる。また、R12/Δrの異なる収容室12と転動マス15の組み合わせを3種類以上とし、3つ以上の次数の捩り振動を低減可能な構成とすることも可能である。

【発明の効果】
本発明に係るダイナミックダンパによると、収容室内で転動マスが円筒状凹面上を転動しつつ振り子運動することによって吸振機能を奏するものであるため、構造を簡素化することができ、転動マスの挙動半径を著しく小さく出来るので、高い次数の捩り振動を低減可能な構造とすることができる。しかも、このダイナミックダンパはエンジンのクランク室に配置され、給油孔から収容室に入り込む潤滑油で転動マスと収容室の内壁間が潤滑されるため、吸振性能の信頼性の高いものとすることができる。
