米穀やお菓子は販売や保存等に際して紙袋や紙箱等で包装するが、長期にわたり保存した場合等にコクゾウ虫が包装紙を食い破って内部に侵入し、食害をもたらすことがある。このような食害は、不衛生であるばかりでなく、商品価値の喪失にもつながるため、その防止が強く望まれる。

そして、コクゾウ虫の食害を防止するには、包装紙に防虫紙を用いること、例えば、特開平6−199087号公報等に記載された技術を転用することが考えられる。この特開平6−199087号公報には、月桃の葉から取り出された精油を含浸させた防虫紙から構成した文書保存箱が記載される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、上述した特開平6−199087号公報に記載の防虫紙にあっては、文書保存箱に用いるものであるため、通常、文書等には寄り付かないコクゾウ虫に対しても防虫効果のあるものではなく、食品の包装に用いることができなかった。また、米穀や菓子等の食品を包装する包装紙には、防虫効果のみならず、人体に対する安全性が求められる。
この発明は、上記事情に鑑みてなされたもので、食品包装用の紙袋や紙箱に安全に用いることができ、また、コクゾウ虫等の食害も防止できる食品包装用防虫加工紙を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、この発明にかかる食品包装用防虫加工紙は、包装紙を食い破って包装紙内に侵入した虫による食品の食害を防止するための食品包装用防虫加工紙であって、
前記食品包装用防虫加工紙が、基材と、該基材の表面に印刷形成された印刷物と、該印刷層に重ねて前記基材全面に形成されたOP層とを備え、該OP層が樹脂バインダであるロジン変性フェノール樹脂に対しコクゾウ虫による食害を防止するピロン系防虫剤を15重量%〜20重量%含有するインキを用いてオフセット印刷により形成され、該OP層の乾燥膜厚が1μm〜2μmであることを特徴とする食品包装用防虫加工紙である。

また、この発明にかかる食品包装箱は、請求項1に記載の食品包装用防虫加工紙の前記OP層を外側として製函することによりコクゾウ虫による食品の食害を防止する包装箱としたことを特徴とする食品包装箱である。

OP層は、オフセット印刷で全面に1μm〜2μmの厚みに形成される。このOP層の形成にはオフセット印刷の印刷適性を損なうことなく有効な忌避効果を得るために樹脂バインダにピロン系防虫剤を15重量%〜20重量%含有させた組成物(インキ)が用いられ、樹脂バインダとしてはロジンフェノール樹脂が、ピロン系防虫剤としては特公昭52−33号公報や特公昭58−14437号公報等に記載されたものが例示される。

この発明にかかる食品包装用防虫加工紙は、最外層のOP層がピロン系防虫剤を含有し、コクゾウ虫を忌避できるため、食品を包装した場合にコクゾウ虫の食害を防止できる。そして、ピロン系防虫剤は、医薬品非臨床試験ガイドラインの単回投与毒性試験に適合するため、人体に対する安全性も確保される。

【実施の形態】
以下、この発明の実施の形態を図面を参照して説明する。
図1はこの発明の一の実施の形態にかかる食品包装用防虫加工紙を示し、食品包装用防虫加工紙の模式断面図である。

図中、1は基材、2は基材1表面に形成された印刷層、3は基材1の印刷層2形成面全面に形成されたOP層である。前述したように、基材1は板紙やセロハン紙が用いられ、印刷層2は絵柄や文字等をオフセット印刷により印刷形成してなる。

OP層3は、ロジンフェノール樹脂等の樹脂バインダにピロン系防虫剤(化合物)を15重量%〜20重量%含有したインキを用いてオフセット印刷により1μm〜2μm程度の乾燥膜厚に形成される。ピロン系防虫剤としては、医薬品非臨床試験ガイドライン(1991)単回投与毒性試験LD50が4000mg/kgのもの、具体的には、アニンセンRV−2(大和化学工業(株)製商品名)が用いられる。

この実施の形態にかかる防虫加工紙は、食品の包装紙として、あるいは、カートンブランク等として用いて食品の紙箱等を構成し、ピロン系防虫剤が含有されたOP層3を外側に露呈させて食品を包装する。このため、コクゾウ虫等を忌避でき、コクゾウ虫が包装を食い破り包装中に侵入することがなく、コクゾウ虫の食害が防止される。そして、ピロン系防虫剤は、医薬品非臨床試験ガイドライン(1991)単回投与毒性試験LD50が4000mg/kg程度であるため、人体に悪影響を及ぼすことが無く、優れた安全性が得られる。

また、OP層3はピロン系防虫剤含有のインキを用いてオフセット印刷により形成するが、このインキ中に含まれるピロン系防虫剤は20重量%以下であるため、オフセットインキとしての適性が損なわれることもなく、オフセット印刷による形成を支障なく行える。

【実施例】
次に、この発明の実施例を比較例と対比して説明する。
基材1上にオフセット印刷で印刷層2を形成した後に、印刷層2に重ねてOP層3を乾燥膜厚が1g/m2となるように形成して実施例1〜4と比較例1〜4を製作した。これら実施例1〜4および比較例1〜4のOP層3はそれぞれ下記の表1に示す樹脂バインダにそれぞれ表1中の配合比でピロン系防虫剤を配合したインキを用いオフセット印刷により形成した。

そして、実施例1〜4および比較例1〜4にかかる防虫加工紙をそれぞれ4×6cmの大きさに切断して2つ折りにし、中に胚芽米を20粒入れてから周囲をホッチキスで封止して試料を作成した。そして、これらの試料を5×7×2cmのブラスチック容器に入れてコクゾウ虫20匹を放ち、25°Cの条件の暗室かで飼育して数日後に試料の損傷等を観察する試験を3回(N1,N2,N3)行った。

試験の結果は表2に示す通りであり、ピロン系防虫剤を含まない比較例3,4およびピロン系防虫剤を含んでも含有率が15重量%以下の比較例1,2にかかる試料はコクゾウ虫が穴をあけて試料内に侵入したが、実施例1〜4にかかる試料には穴を認めることができなかった。ただし、実施例1,2は損傷が全く認められなかったが、樹脂バインダとしてアクリルエステル系紫外線硬化型樹脂を用いた実施例3,4は外面にわずかに損傷の痕跡が見られた。

なお、上述した実施の形態では、本発明にかかる食品包装用防虫加工紙を一次包装に用いるか二次包装に用いるかに関して述べないが、一次と二次のいずれの包装にも使用できることは述べるまでもなく、また、この防虫加工紙を製函して食品装箱として用いることも可能である(請求項2)。

以上説明したように、この発明にかかる防虫加工紙(食品包装箱)によれば、最外層のOP層にピロン系防虫剤を15重量%〜20重量%含有させるため、印刷適性を損なうことなくコクゾウ虫等に優れた忌避効果が得られ、食品の包装に際してコクゾウ虫等による食害を有効に防止できる。
