BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an ink jet recording apparatus that performs printing by ejecting ink droplets onto a surface to be printed.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A so-called inkjet recording apparatus that discharges liquid or molten solid ink from nozzles, slits, porous films, etc., and records on a printed material such as paper, cloth, film, etc., has various advantages such as small size, low cost, and quietness. There is. For this reason, recently, a large number of ink jet recording apparatuses for recording on report paper, copy paper, etc. are commercially available, and have come to occupy a large position in the field of recording apparatuses.
[0003]
Among them, the piezoelectric ink jet system that ejects ink droplets by changing the pressure in the pressure chamber using a piezoelectric element and the thermal ink jet recording apparatus that ejects ink droplets by expanding the ink by the action of thermal energy are high-speed printing, It has many advantages such as high resolution.
[0004]
In such an ink jet recording apparatus, if printing is not performed for a long time, the ink in the recording head dries, the nozzles provided on the nozzle plate are clogged, and dust (dust) is present on the nozzle surface (the lower surface of the nozzle plate). ) May cause missing dots during printing, resulting in poor print quality or inability to print.
[0005]
Therefore, when recording is suspended for a certain period of time (when waiting for printing), when the power is turned off, the recording head is moved to a predetermined location (printing waiting position) in the inkjet recording apparatus, and at the print waiting position of the recording head, The cap disposed opposite to the nozzle plate covers the nozzle plate, and a sealed space is formed between the nozzle plate and the cap to prevent ink drying (capping).
[0006]
However, capping over a long period of time may cause clogging due to an increase in ink viscosity because the ink gradually dries in the nozzle. For this reason, the nozzle and the nozzle surface are cleaned by the suction method and the wiping blade method.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In view of the above-described facts, an object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet recording apparatus that suppresses bending of a recording head with a simple configuration.
[0020]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the first aspect of the present invention, there is provided an ink jet recording head device that discharges ink droplets from nozzles formed on a nozzle plate by changing a pressure in a pressure chamber using an actuator, and a box type to which the ink jet recording head is fixed. And a cap member that is disposed at the print standby position of the ink jet recording head so as to face the ink jet recording head and that is open on the ink jet recording head side and forms a sealed space with the nozzle plate. In the inkjet recording apparatus, when the air in the sealed space is erected from the bottom surface of the cap member and is sucked from the suction port formed on the bottom surface, the inkjet recording head is bent by contacting the nozzle plate. It has the 1st support member which suppresses, It is characterized by the above-mentioned .
[0021]
In the first aspect of the present invention, the first support member is erected from the bottom surface of the cap member. When the air in the sealed space is sucked from the suction port formed on the bottom surface of the cap member, the central portion of the nozzle plate tends to bend toward the bottom surface side (downward side) of the cap member. When the support member abuts, the deflection of the ink jet recording head is suppressed.
[0022]
As described above, even if the air in the cap member is sucked from the bottom surface of the cap member, the deflection of the recording head is suppressed, so that the adhesive that fixes the head case and the recording head is peeled off or the recording head It is possible to prevent damage to the piezoelectric elements disposed in the.
[0023]
According to a second aspect of the present invention, the ink jet recording head is brought into contact with an upper portion of the ink jet recording head in a state where the ink jet recording head is pressed between the pair of side walls constituting the head case and pressed by the cap member. It has the 2nd support member which suppresses the bending of a recording head, It is characterized by the above-mentioned.
[0024]
According to the second aspect of the present invention, the second support member is bridged between the side walls of the head case, and the second support member abuts on the upper portion of the inkjet recording head in a state where the inkjet recording head is pressed by the cap member. Thus, the deflection of the ink jet recording head is suppressed.
[0025]
In this way, by providing the second support member that bridges between the side walls of the head case, the deformation of the head case can be prevented and the rigidity of the head case can be improved.
[0026]
Also, when the nozzle plate is sealed with a cap member or when the nozzle surface of the nozzle plate is wiped with a wiper, the ink jet recording head tends to bend upward due to the stress applied to the ink jet recording head. When the second support member comes into contact with the upper portion of the ink jet head, the deflection of the ink jet recording head is suppressed.
[0027]
The invention described in claim 3 is characterized in that the cap member is provided with the first support member described in claim 1.
[0028]
In a third aspect of the invention, the first support member is provided on the bottom surface of the cap member, and the second support member is provided on the head case. The first support member suppresses the downward deflection of the inkjet recording head, and the second support member suppresses the upward deflection of the inkjet recording head. That is, bending in the vertical direction of the ink jet recording head is suppressed.
[0029]
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, there is a gap between the second support member and the inkjet recording head in which a flexible substrate connected to the actuator can be mounted.
[0030]
In the invention according to
[0031]
However, when the head is stressed by the cap member or the wiper member, the flexible substrate is sandwiched between the head and the second support member, so the flexible substrate has a thickness that does not cause a problem on the wiring. It is necessary to have.
[0032]
The invention according to claim 5 is characterized in that the second support member is formed with a notch through which the flexible substrate connected to the actuator is penetrated.
[0033]
In the fifth aspect of the present invention, the second support member is provided with a notch for penetrating the flexible substrate connected to the actuator. For this reason, even if the second support member is provided in the head case, the flexible substrate is not sandwiched between the head and the second support member, and there is no problem in wiring.
[0034]
According to a sixth aspect of the present invention, the cap member and the first support member are formed of resin, and the cap member that contacts the nozzle plate and the contact portion of the first support member are formed of an elastic member. It is a feature.
[0035]
In a sixth aspect of the present invention, the cap member and the first support member are formed of resin, and the contact portions of the cap member and the first support member that are in contact with the nozzle plate are formed of an elastic member. When the nozzle plate is covered with the cap member, the sealing property between the cap member and the nozzle plate can be ensured by pressing the elastic member against the nozzle plate.

Further, in the present embodiment, the droplet is ejected by the pressure generated by the deformation of the piezoelectric actuator. However, the electromechanical conversion element using the electrostatic force or the magnetic force, or the pressure generation using the boiling phenomenon is used. You may make it obtain the energy for discharging a droplet using other pressure generation means, such as an electrothermal conversion element.
[0073]
In addition to the single-plate type piezoelectric actuator used in the present embodiment, another type of actuator such as a longitudinal vibration type stacked piezoelectric actuator may be used as the piezoelectric actuator.
[0074]
Moreover, in this embodiment, although the flow path is formed by stacking a plurality of plates, the configuration and material of the plates are not limited to the above embodiment. For example, the present invention can be similarly applied to a head in which a channel is integrally formed using a material such as ceramics, glass, resin, or silicon.
[0075]
Furthermore, in the present embodiment, an ink jet recording head and an ink jet recording apparatus that record characters and images by ejecting ink droplets onto the recording paper P are taken as examples. However, characters and images are recorded on the recording paper. It is not limited to what is used for. That is, the recording medium is not limited to paper, and the liquid to be ejected is not limited to ink.
[0076]
For example, it is possible to create color filters for displays by discharging ink onto polymer films or glass, or to form bumps for mounting components by discharging molten solder onto a substrate. The present invention can be used for all liquid droplet ejecting apparatuses used in the present invention.
[0077]
【The invention's effect】
Since the present invention is configured as described above, in the first and second aspects of the invention, even if the air in the cap member is sucked from the bottom surface of the cap member, the deflection of the recording head is suppressed. Can be prevented from being peeled off and the piezoelectric element disposed in the recording head from being damaged.
[0078]
According to the third aspect of the present invention, bending of the ink jet recording head is suppressed in the vertical direction. In the invention according to
[0079]
According to the fifth aspect of the present invention, even if the second support member is provided in the head case, there is no problem on wiring. According to the sixth aspect of the present invention, when the nozzle plate is covered with the cap member, the elastic member is pressed against the nozzle plate, thereby ensuring the sealing between the cap member and the nozzle plate.
