【0021】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for producing crude phenol, and more particularly, to a method for producing crude phenol using crude phenol obtained from, for example, an acid catalytic cracking process of cumene hydroperoxide.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The cumene process phenol production process includes a step of concentrating cumene hydroperoxide obtained by oxidation of raw material cumene to 80 to 85%, then acid-decomposing it into phenol and acetone, followed by neutralization washing. And the obtained crude phenol contains acetone, water, cumene, α-methylstyrene, phenol, etc., and purified phenol is produced from such crude phenol by distillation. At the same time, acetone and α-methylstyrene are respectively Separated and collected.
[0003]
The distillation of the crude phenol as described above is usually carried out in a crude acetone column, which is the first column, as described in, for example, JP-A-55-94326 and JP-B-64-7058. Acetone is used as a component, and water, cumene, α-methylstyrene, phenol, and heavy components are separated from a tower bottom component.
[0004]
However, when acetone and α-methylstyrene are separated and recovered simultaneously with the production of purified phenol by the above method, there are the following problems. That is, since it is difficult to separate cumene and α-methylstyrene, many columns of distillation columns are required for the separation. Therefore, it requires a large amount of capital investment and energy cost, and is not economical.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to produce an economically advantageous purified phenol made from crude phenol containing acetone, water, hydroxyacetone, cumene, α-methylstyrene and phenol. It is to provide a manufacturing method.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
As a result of repeated studies, the present inventors have found that if a specific component is separated as a key component in the first distillation column, each component can be separated more efficiently than expected. Obtained.
[0007]
The present invention has been completed based on the above findings, and the gist thereof is obtained from a cumene method phenol production process, and a plurality of crude phenols containing acetone, water, hydroxyacetone, cumene, α-methylstyrene and phenol are obtained. In the method of producing purified phenol by sequentially treating in a distillation column, crude phenol is supplied to the first distillation column, cumene-containing light components are recovered from the top of the column, and α-methylstyrene not containing cumene from the bottom of the column. It exists in the manufacturing method of the refinement | purification phenol characterized by including the process of collect | recovering a containing heavy component.
[0008]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is an explanatory view showing an example of a method for producing purified phenol according to the present invention. In the present invention, crude phenol obtained from the acid-catalyzed decomposition process of cumene hydroperoxide is suitably used as the raw crude phenol. An example of the composition of such crude phenol is as shown in the following table. In addition, the components in the following table are arranged in the order of low boiling point.
[0009]
[Table 1]
[0010]
<First distillation column (crude acetone column)>
Crude phenol is supplied to the first distillation column, and cumene-containing light components are recovered from the top of the column, and α-methylstyrene-containing heavy components not containing cumene are recovered from the column bottom. In the present invention, it is important to separate cumene and α-methylstyrene in the first distillation column in the presence of phenol. The reason is as follows.
[0011]
The two-component system of cumene-α-methylstyrene is difficult to separate because the volatility of both is close. However, according to the knowledge of the present inventors, the volatility changes in the presence of phenol or acetone, and the separability between cumene and α-methylstyrene is enhanced. Therefore, in the present invention, as described above, cumene and α-methylstyrene are first separated from the crude phenol. As a result, phenol is concentrated in the recovery section (lower part from the raw material supply stage) to facilitate separation of cumene and α-methylstyrene, and acetone is concentrated in the concentration part (upper part from the raw material supply stage) to accumulate cumene and α. -The separation of methylstyrene is facilitated. Further, by separating α-methylstyrene at the bottom of the first distillation column, the activity of hydroxyacetone, which is an impurity of phenol, is increased, and it is possible to separate hydroxyacetone from phenol with less energy.
[0012]
<Second distillation column (product acetone column)>
The above-mentioned cumene-containing light components (acetone, water, hydroxyacetone, cumene) are supplied to the second distillation column to perform reactive distillation, and product acetone is recovered by side cut of the second distillation column. The reactive distillation is performed in the presence of an alkali such as NaOH according to a known method. By such reactive distillation, aldehydes and hydroxyacetone, which are impurities, are made heavy by aldolization. Therefore, the product acetone having the same quality as the conventional product is recovered.
[0013]
The acetone component containing a trace amount of aldehydes recovered from the top of the second distillation column is circulated to the acid decomposition reactor of the phenol production process, if necessary. The water-cumene-α-methylstyrene-aldolated impurity-containing component recovered from the bottom of the second distillation column is treated with a decanter (not shown), and the remaining component from which water has been separated is transferred to the third distillation column. Supplied.
[0014]
<Third distillation tower (cumene recovery tower)>
Cumene-α-methylstyrene-aldolization impurity-containing component recovered from the bottom of the third distillation column or a side cut several stages above the bottom of the third distillation column by supplying the residual component from which water has been separated to the third distillation column Is recycled to the hydrogenation reactor of the phenol production process. By the hydrogenation reaction, α-methylstyrene is converted to cumene. Light impurities collected from the top of the third distillation column are purged outside the phenol production process.
[0015]
<Fourth distillation column (crude α-methylstyrene column)>
The α-methylstyrene-containing heavy fraction (α-methylstyrene, phenol, high boiling point) recovered from the bottom of the first distillation column is supplied to the fourth distillation column to perform steam distillation, and the fourth distillation column The crude α-methylstyrene is recovered from the top of the column, and the crude phenol is recovered from the stage below the supply stage of the fourth distillation tower by steam side cut.
[0016]
By the way, the α-methylstyrene-phenol two-component system is difficult to separate because it is an azeotropic system. However, according to the knowledge of the present inventors, crude α-methylstyrene containing almost no phenol can be recovered from the top of the tower by steam distillation in which water is supplied as the third component. Moreover, the crude phenol which hardly contains high boilers, such as acetophenone, can be collect | recovered from the stage below a supply stage by steam side cut. Moreover, since the activity of 2-methylbenzofuran, which is an impurity of the product phenol, is increased by water, 2-methylbenzofuran can be easily separated from phenol. The water used in the fourth distillation column can also be used by supplying it to the water extraction tower described later from the reflux tank at the top of the tower.
[0017]
Crude α-methylstyrene recovered from the top of the fourth distillation column is supplied to an alkali cleaning tank (not shown) to remove trace impurities, then supplied to the fifth distillation column, and recovered by steam side cut. Phenol is supplied to the sixth distillation column (extraction distillation column), and high-boiling substances recovered from the bottom of the fourth distillation column are supplied to the pyrolysis recovery step and processed as necessary. That is, the active ingredient may be recovered and recycled to the acid decomposition neutralization washing step or the first distillation column.
[0018]
<Fifth distillation column (product α-methylstyrene column)>
The above-mentioned crude α-methylstyrene after removing trace impurities is supplied to the fifth distillation column, and the product α-methylstyrene is recovered by side cut. Since the crude α-methylstyrene has a low cumene content, it can be sufficiently purified by only one column of the fifth distillation column. The components α-methylstyrene and water recovered from the top of the fifth distillation column are circulated to the first distillation column as necessary, and medium impurities such as butylbenzene recovered from the bottom of the fifth distillation column are Purged out of the phenol production process. The above product α-methylstyrene can be supplied to the hydrogenation reaction step in an arbitrary amount, recovered as cumene, and recycled to the reaction step of the phenol production process.
[0019]
<Sixth distillation column (extraction distillation column)>
Crude phenol recovered by side cut from the fourth distillation column is supplied to the sixth distillation column to perform extractive distillation, and phenol is recovered from the bottom of the sixth distillation column. Extractive distillation is performed according to a known method, and water, polyalkylene glycol, or an ether thereof is preferably used as the extraction solvent. Phenol recovered from the bottom of the sixth distillation column is supplied to the seventh distillation column (product phenol column), and carbonyl impurities separated at the top of the sixth distillation column are purged outside the phenol production process. Is done.
[0020]
<Seventh distillation tower (product phenol tower)>
The phenol recovered from the bottom of the sixth distillation column is supplied to the seventh distillation column, and the product phenol is recovered by side cut. A product phenol having a hue of 5 or less, a sulfuric acid coloration of 95 or more, and a purity of 99.99% by weight or more can be obtained.
[0021]
【Example】
EXAMPLES Hereinafter, although an Example demonstrates this invention still in detail, this invention is not limited to a following example, unless the summary is exceeded.
[0022]
Example 1
Using crude phenol having the composition shown in Table 1 as a raw material, purified phenol was produced according to the embodiment shown in FIG. At the same time, acetone and α-methylstyrene were recovered.
[0023]
Crude phenol is supplied to the first distillation column (stage number: 65, supply stage: 17th stage, top pressure: about 0.02 kg / cm 2 G), and cumene-containing light components are recovered from the top of the tower. The heavy fraction containing α-methylstyrene was recovered.
[0024]

The product acetone was recovered by side cut of the second distillation column.
[0025]
The α-methylstyrene-containing heavy fraction (α-methylstyrene, phenol, high-boiling substances) recovered from the bottom of the first distillation column is converted into the fourth distillation column (stage number: 67, supply stage: 23rd stage, top of the tower) Pressure: about -0.6 Kg / cm 2 G), steam distillation is performed to recover crude α-methylstyrene from the top of the fourth distillation column and a stage below the supply stage of the fourth distillation column ( Crude phenol was recovered by steam side cut from the 26th stage).
[0026]
The crude α-methylstyrene recovered from the top of the fourth distillation column was supplied to an alkali cleaning tank (not shown) to remove trace impurities. The crude α-methylstyrene after removing trace impurities is supplied to the fifth distillation column (stage number: 83 stages, supply stage: 52nd stage, tower top pressure: about −0.1 Kg / cm 2 G). The product α-methylstyrene was recovered by side cutting.
[0027]
Crude phenol recovered from the fourth distillation column by side cut is supplied to the sixth distillation column (stage number: 77 stages, supply stage: eighth stage, top pressure: about 1.2 Kg / cm 2 G), and water is used as a solvent. The phenol was recovered from the bottom of the sixth distillation column.
[0028]
The phenol recovered from the bottom of the sixth distillation column is fed to the seventh distillation column (stage number: 25 stages, supply stage: 22nd stage, tower top pressure: about -0.6 Kg / cm 2 G) by side cut. Product phenol (
[0029]
In the first distillation column, when 95 parts by weight of α-methylstyrene, which is almost the total amount, is separated at the bottom of the column with respect to 100 parts by weight of the supplied α-methylstyrene, the required energy of the reboiler steam is 1 to T / H 0.1MMKCal / T-feed. The composition of the bottom liquid of the first distillation column at that time was as shown in Table 2.
