【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a recording reservation control apparatus and a recording reservation control method applied to a VTR or the like.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The VTR is provided with a program reservation function so that a program of a set channel can be automatically recorded at a set time. By using such a program reservation function, for example, a desired program can be recorded even when going out, which is very convenient. The conventional VTR program reservation is to input a recording start time, a recording end time, and a recording channel with reference to a program guide published in newspapers or magazines, which is very difficult for the user to understand. This was an operation. In view of this, a program that allows a user to make a program reservation by inputting a code (G code) assigned to each program has appeared. When such a code is used, it is very convenient that the program start time, end time, channel, etc. can be set simply by inputting a code published in a newspaper or magazine.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, conventional VTR program reservations are published in newspapers, magazines, etc., regardless of whether the program reservation is performed by individually entering the start time, end time, channel, etc., or when the program reservation is performed by code input. Since the program is reserved with reference to the program schedule, there is a problem that it is impossible to cope with a change in the schedule of the broadcast program.
[0004]
For example, when a baseball game is performed, it is often the case that the game time is prolonged and the subsequent broadcast program is broadcast a few minutes to several hours later than the scheduled time. Conventionally, when the broadcast time of a broadcast program is changed as described above, it is necessary to cancel the program reservation and newly set the program reservation.
[0005]
Furthermore, in recent years, the number of channels has increased dramatically with the spread of CATV and satellite broadcasting. If the number of channels increases due to the spread of CATV and satellite broadcasting, it is difficult to post programs for all channels using newspapers and magazines. Among the CATV channels, there are local broadcast channels and specialized channels that broadcast only to specific viewers. In the case of such local channels or specialized channels, it is difficult to provide program information in newspapers or magazines. In the case of satellite broadcasting, there are cases where the service area is wide and the service area crosses the border. In newspapers and magazines, it is difficult to provide program information to all viewers in a service area in such a service area that crosses national borders.
[0006]
Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide a recording reservation control apparatus and a recording reservation control method which can easily set program reservation and the like and can flexibly cope with program schedule change.
[0007]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a recording reservation control apparatus and a recording reservation control method that can easily make a program reservation regardless of an increase in the number of broadcast channels or an expansion of a service area.
[0008]

FIG. 4 shows an example of these commands and the operation of the commands. As shown in FIG. 4, each command is defined corresponding to the operation of an electronic device such as a VTR, a television receiver, or an MD player. For example, a VTR stop operation is set by a hexadecimal [00H] command, and a VTR playback operation is set by a hexadecimal [01H] command. Electronic devices that can be set for operation by this command are not limited to audio visual devices such as VTRs and television receivers, but include various electronic devices such as air conditioners and lighting.

As shown in FIG. 10A, in the device registration, first, a model setting menu is displayed. In the setting menu of this device, a corresponding device is selected from among a VTR, a television receiver and the like. When the corresponding device is selected, a manufacturer setting menu appears as shown in FIG. 10B. When a manufacturer is set on the manufacturer setting menu, an input screen for the date of manufacture appears as shown in FIG. 10C. Here, when the manufacturing date is input, manufacturer information and manufacturing date information about the device are input. As described above, when the manufacturer information and the date of manufacture information about the device are input, the information is sent to the
[0042]
FIG. 11 is a flowchart showing the operation at this time. As shown in FIG. 11, at the time of device registration, first, a model setting menu is displayed (step ST11). It is determined whether or not a device such as a VTR, a television receiver, or an MD player has been selected in the device setting menu (step ST12). Once the device is selected, the manufacturer setting menu is then displayed (step ST13). It is determined whether or not a manufacturer such as Company A, Company B, Company C or the like has been selected in the manufacturer setting menu (step ST14). If a manufacturer is selected, a manufacturing date input screen is then displayed (step ST15). It is determined whether or not a manufacturing date has been input on this manufacturing date input screen (step ST16). When the date of manufacture is input, information on the manufacturer and date of manufacture for the set device is registered in the interface box 25 (step ST17).

In the above example, the manufacturer and date of manufacture are registered in advance for each device. However, if the codes corresponding to each command are read for all models, the manufacturer and device for each device are registered in advance. There is no need to register the date of manufacture.
[0049]
That is, as shown in FIG. 13, it is determined whether or not a command is sent from the personal computer 21 (step ST31), and when a command is sent, the command is interpreted (step ST32). Then, the code data for performing the operation of the code corresponding to the command is sequentially read for all models of all manufacturers (step ST33), and sequentially transmitted as an infrared signal from the infrared generator 54 (step ST34). In this way, if the code data of the corresponding operation is read for all models of all manufacturers, one of them matches the device constituting the audio

【The invention's effect】
According to the present invention, broadcast program information is provided by the Internet WWW service. The WWW can transfer information via a network based on hypertext, and can handle not only text data but also information including image data and audio data. When a program schedule is provided on the WWW, not only text but also still images can be handled. It is possible to introduce programs using video, video, or audio. Because the Internet is an international computer network, it introduces broadcast programs from satellite broadcasting in a wide service area that crosses borders to broadcasting in a very small service area such as a mini FM station. Can do. Furthermore, the latest program schedule can always be viewed using the WWW.
[0066]
In addition to this, in the present invention, a command for setting the operation of the electronic device is embedded in a WWW page from each broadcasting station. When the portion where this command is embedded is clicked, an infrared signal corresponding to the command is transmitted, and the operation of each electronic device is set. Thereby, for example, it is possible to easily make a program reservation while viewing the WWW page. Furthermore, since a command for setting the operation of the electronic device can be embedded in the WWW page, it is possible to manage the audiovisual system and the electronic device system in an integrated manner.Furthermore, since an icon corresponding to the command is displayed, the embedded command can be easily identified, and the electronic device can be operated by clicking the icon.
