【0009】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a high molecular weight amphoteric polymer flocculant and a sludge dewatering method using the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, nonionic, cationic, anionic, or amphoteric polymer flocculants have been used for the purpose of agglomerating, settling and separating suspensions contained in domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater and the like. In particular, cationic polymer flocculants are frequently used for dewatering treatment of sewage sludge. However, due to an increase in the amount of sludge generated and deterioration of sludge properties, the conventional dehydration method using a cationic polymer flocculant cannot achieve a sufficiently satisfactory dehydration treatment.
[0003]
In order to solve these problems, it has been proposed to dehydrate sludge using an amphoteric polymer flocculant, and various amphoteric polymer flocculants used for this purpose have also been proposed (for example, JP-A-62). JP-A-205112, JP-A-53-149292, JP-A-3-18900, etc.). However, the conventional amphoteric polymer flocculant needs to be added in a large amount to the sludge depending on the applied sludge, the floc particle size becomes small, or the filtration rate is insufficient. The amount of processing per hour could not be increased, and the water content of the cake obtained could not be reduced.
[0004]
In addition, a dehydration method using both an inorganic flocculant and a polymer flocculant has been proposed. JP-A-58-51998 discloses a method of using polyiron sulfate as an inorganic flocculant and adding a nonionic, anionic or cationic polymer flocculant alone to form a floc and dehydrating it. Is described. However, in this method, the generated floc has a relatively small diameter and is low in strength, so that it is difficult to obtain a dehydrated cake with a low moisture content.
[0005]
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 59-16599 discloses a method for dewatering sludge using an inorganic flocculant and an amphoteric polymer flocculant having cationic and anionic properties. However, in the case of this method, the peelability at the time of peeling the dehydrated cake from the filter cloth in the dehydration step is poor, and the water content of the obtained dehydrated cake is not sufficiently low.
[0006]
JP-A-63-158200 discloses a method of adding an inorganic flocculant, adjusting the pH to 5 to 8, and adding an amphoteric polymer flocculant thereto. However, in this method, a sufficient effect may not be obtained depending on the type of sludge to be treated.
[0007]
Thus, the properties of sludge vary widely depending on the location of occurrence, and it is actually impossible to dehydrate all sludge with one type of flocculant. Accordingly, there has been a need for a polymer flocculant having various preferable characteristics that can sufficiently cope with various sludge properties.
[0008]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In order to solve the above problems, the present inventors have studied a polymer flocculant having various structures, a monomer having an anionic functional group having a specific structure, a cationic monomer, and a necessity. The amphoteric polymer flocculant obtained by copolymerizing with other monomers by the above method is used for flocculation and dehydration of various sludges, and the resulting floc has an excellent balance of strength, filtration rate, and moisture content. As a result, the present invention was completed. Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide an amphoteric polymer flocculant that solves the above problems, and a sludge dewatering method using the amphoteric polymer flocculant.
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]

[2] The amphoteric polymer flocculant according to [1], wherein the reactive monomer is a compound represented by the following general formula (1).
[0010]
[Chemical formula 2]

[0074]
Subsequently, the sludge was stirred at 560 rpm for 15 seconds using a handy mixer, and then the particle size of the generated floc was measured. As shown in Table 2, the floc diameter in this example was a large one exceeding 10 mm.
[0075]
Thereafter, the sludge floc dispersion was gravity filtered using a 60 mesh screen as a filter. The filtration capacity after 10 seconds was measured and indicated as the filtration rate. Using a centrifuge, the sludge after filtration was dehydrated at 2000 rpm for 10 minutes, and the water content of the obtained cake was measured. These measurement results are shown in Table 2.
[0076]

[0077]
(Example 7, Comparative Example 7)
Example 4 except that the amphoteric polymer flocculants A and D of Example 1 and Comparative Example 1 were used, and the sludge used was changed to a mixed sludge composed of excess sludge and coagulated sludge from chemical factory effluent. A floc was formed in the same manner as in -6 and evaluated in the same manner as in Examples 4-6. The results are shown in Table 3.
[0078]
As is apparent from Table 3, the flocculant of the present invention provides excellent floc when 150 ppm is added, whereas the flocculant of the comparative example performs better than the flocculant of the present invention even when 210 ppm is added. It was inferior.
