【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、押出機から押し出されたリボン状ゴムを、回転する支持体に螺旋巻回して所定断面のゴム部材を組み付けるタイヤの成型方法に用いられる、リボン状ゴムの断面形状を特定するとともにこれを支持体に貼着させるリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来から、押出設備の小型化、タイヤの均一性向上、あるいは、小ロット多サイズ生産への対応等を目的に、タイヤを成型する際に、小型押出機より押し出されたリボン状ゴムを直接、回転する支持体に螺旋巻回してこれらを積層して所定断面のゴム部材を組み付けるタイヤの成型方法が知られていて、この方法においては、押し出されたリボン状ゴムを型付けしてこの断面を特定するとともに支持体に貼着させるリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置が用いられ、この圧延貼着装置の位置を連続的に制御してリボン状ゴムを重ねながら螺旋巻回し積層する。

そして、このリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置は、対向する一対のローラを具え、それぞれのローラはこれらの間にリボン状ゴムを通過させてその断面形状を特定する圧延面を有し、一方のローラの圧延面は、通過させたリボン状ゴムを保持してこれを前記支持体へ貼着する面として機能するよう構成されていて、これらの圧延面は断面平坦状に形成されていた(例えば、特許文献1。)。

しかしながら、従来のリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置は、それぞれの圧延ローラの圧延面が断面平坦状であることに起因する以下のような問題をかかえていた。従来の装置においては、両ローラ間を通過させたリボン状ゴムを前記一方のローラの圧延面に保持させるため、一方のローラを他方のローラより圧延面での直径を大きくしたり、他方のローラを加熱したり、一方のローラの圧延面の周速を他方のローラより遅くしたり、あるいは、例えば、一方のローラを鏡面に他方のローラを梨地面仕上げる等の処理を行ってそれぞれの圧延面の表面状態を異ならせたりする方策が施されているが、一方のローラの圧延面に保持されない場合が発生し、問題となっていた。

また、この従来技術においては、貼着面として機能する一方のローラの圧延面は断面平坦状をなしているため、支持体に対してリボン状ゴムは平坦状に貼着されるので、支持体とリボン状ゴムとの間にエアを巻き込み、間エア入り等の不良を引き起こす可能性があり、さらに、支持体が断面凹形状の部分を有する場合に、この凹形状部分にリボン状ゴムを貼着しようとすると、リボン状ゴムを凹面の深い部分に密着させることができないという問題もあった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
本発明は、このような問題点に鑑みてなされたものであり、対向する一対のローラを具え、それぞれのローラはこれらの間にリボン状ゴムを通過させてその断面形状を特定する圧延面を有し、一方のローラの圧延面は、通過させたリボン状ゴムを保持してこれを前記支持体へ貼着する面として機能するリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置において、ローラ間を通過させたリボン状ゴムを確実に前記一方のローラの圧延面に保持させることができ、リボン状ゴムを支持体に貼着する際の、リボン状ゴムと支持体との間のエア入りを防止しまたこれら同士の密着性を損なわせることのないリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置を提供することを目的とするものである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するため、本発明はなされたものであり、その要旨構成ならびに作用を以下に示す。

請求項1に記載のリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置は、押出機から押し出されたリボン状ゴムを、回転する支持体に螺旋巻回して所定断面のゴム部材を組み付けるタイヤの成型方法に用いられ、対向する一対のローラを具え、それぞれのローラはこれらの間にリボン状ゴムを通過させてその断面形状を特定する圧延面を有し、一方のローラの圧延面は、通過させたリボン状ゴムを保持してこれを前記支持体へ貼着する面として機能するリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置において、
前記一方のローラの圧延面を断面凸形状にするともに、他方のローラの圧延面を断面凹形状とするものである。

本発明に係るこのリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置によれば、前記一方のローラの圧延面を断面凸形状にするともに、他方のローラの圧延面を断面凹形状としたので、二つのローラ間で厚さ方向に圧縮され幅方向に伸張されて圧延されたリボン状ゴムがこれらのローラ間の隙間を通過したあとその弾性により幅方向に作用する収縮力は、リボン状ゴムを表面凸形状をなす圧延面に押圧するとともに表面凹形状をなす圧延面からこれを剥離する力として作用し、このことにより、一方のローラの圧延面側でリボン状ゴムを確実に保持することができる。

さらに、一方のローラの圧延面は断面凸形状をなしているので、前述したように、リボン状ゴムを支持体に貼着する際の、リボン状ゴムと支持体との間のエア入りを防止することができまたこれら同士の密着性を損なわせることもない。
なお、ここにおいて、「支持体」とは、タイヤ成型ドラム、成型途中のタイヤ、ゴム部材成型ドラム、成型途中のゴム部材、あるいは、更生タイヤにおける台タイヤなどを含む。また、「螺旋巻回する」とは、リボン状ゴムを支持体の軸方向に移動させながら巻回することすなわち螺旋状に巻回することのほかに、リボン状ゴムを支持体の軸方向に移動させずに単に半径方向外側に向かって渦巻き状に巻回して積層することも含む。

請求項2に記載のリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置は、請求項1に記載するところにおいて、前記それぞれのローラの圧延面同士で形成される隙間を、ローラの幅方向両端部で狭く、中央部で広くしてなるものである。

本発明のリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置によれば、両ローラの圧延面同士で形成される隙間を、ローラの幅方向両端部で狭く、中央部で広くしたので、圧延後のリボン状ゴムの断面形状を幅方向両端での厚さを幅方向中央の厚さより薄くすることができ、支持体上に積層されて互いに隣接するリボン状ゴム同士の段差を小さくして、この段差部分に滞留する可能性のあるエアを最小限に抑制し、エア入りを防止することができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の実施形態について図1ないし図3に基づいて説明する。図1はタイヤの成型方法を説明するための、リボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置1の略線側面図であり、図2は、図1の矢視II−IIにおける断面図、図3は、図1の矢視III−IIIにおける断面図ある。タイヤを構成するゴム部材G、例えばトレッド部材を組み付けてタイヤを成型する際、このゴム部材Gを組み付ける途中のタイヤを支持体5として、この支持体5を回転させながら押出機4から押し出されたリボン状ゴムRをリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置1の間を通過させ、支持体5上にこれを螺旋巻回して積層しゴム部材Gを形成する。

このリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置1は、対向する一対のローラ2、3を具え、それぞれのローラ2、3はこれらの間にリボン状ゴムRを通過させてその断面形状を特定する圧延面2A、3Aをそれぞれ有し、一方のローラ2の圧延面2Aは、通過させたリボン状ゴムRを保持してこれを前記支持体5へ貼着する面として機能するよう構成されていて、圧延面2Aは図2に示す断面において凸形状に形成され、これに対して、他方のローラ3の圧延面3Aは、図2に示す断面において凸形状に形成されている。図2に示すものの場合、ローラ2、3間の隙間は、ローラ幅方向にわたって均一に形成される。

図3(a)は、支持体5の表面のうち、幅方向に平坦な部分にリボン状ゴムRを貼付ける場合の断面図であるが、一方のローラ2でリボン状ゴムRを支持体5に押圧しながらこれを貼付ける際、ローラ2の圧延面2Aは凸形状をしているので、まずリボン状ゴムRの幅方向中央部を支持体に圧着したあと順次幅方向両端部に向かってこれを圧着してゆくことができるので、エアを支持体5とリボン状ゴムRとの間に巻き込むことなく、エアをリボン状ゴムRの幅方向外側に排出しながら貼付けることができ、エア入りを発生させないゴム部材を形成することができる。また、このことは、支持体5の表面のうち、幅方向に凸形状となる部分にリボン状ゴムRを貼付ける場合も同様である。

図3(b)は、支持体5の表面のうち、幅方向に凹形状となる部分にリボン状ゴムRを貼付ける場合の断面図であるが、この場合でも、ローラ2の圧延面2Aは凸形状をしているので、ローラ2を支持体5に干渉させることなく、リボン状ゴムRを全幅にわたって支持体5に圧着することができ、支持体5とリボン状ゴムRとの密着性を確保することができる。

図4は、リボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置の他の実施形態を、図2に対応させて示す断面図であり、この実施形態のリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置11は、図2に示すリボン状ゴム圧延貼着装置1の他方のローラ3をローラ13で置き換えたものであり、ローラ13はローラ12より断面凹形状をなす圧延面13Aの曲率半径が小さく、このため、ローラ2とローラ13との隙間はローラの幅方向中央で広く、両端部で狭く形成され、このことにより、幅方向両端部での厚さが中央部より薄い断面形状、例えば、レンズ状断面のリボン状ゴムを形成することができ、支持体5上に積層されて互いに隣接するリボン状ゴムR同士の段差を小さくして、この段差部分に滞留する可能性のあるエアを最小限に抑制し、エア入りを防止することができる。

【発明の効果】
以上述べたところから明らかなように、本発明によれば、前記一方のローラ2の圧延面2Aを断面凸形状にするともに、他方のローラ3の圧延面を断面凹形状としたので、支持体5へのリボン状ゴムRの貼付けを司る一方のローラ2の圧延面2Aでのリボン状ゴムRの保持を確実なものすることができ、また、リボン状ゴムRを支持体5に貼着する際の、リボン状ゴムRと支持体5との間のエア入りを防止しまたこれら同士の密着性を確実なものとものである。
