Description
【0001】

コンテンツがBS/CSデジタル放送の場合、例えば、EIT(Event Information Table)のシリーズ記述子に含まれるepisode_number(話数)を使用することができる。

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an information recording / reproducing apparatus that includes a first recording medium and a plurality of second recording media and that appropriately records information while maintaining continuity of information on the second recording medium.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Due to recent advances in digital technology, a large-capacity recording medium such as HDD (Hard Disk Drive) is installed as a recording medium for recording digital broadcast stream data such as CS broadcasts and BS broadcasts. The number of information devices with convenient functions is increasing. Recently, information devices such as personal computers (PCs) equipped with the above functions and home appliances such as hard disk videos using HDD as a recording medium are also on the market. Based on these circumstances, broadcasting services based on the accumulation of information such as server-type broadcasting are also being started.
[0003]
However, although main recording media such as HDDs have increased in capacity, their recording capacities are limited, and it is necessary to back up important data. For example, it is necessary to record and store in a portable recording medium. When the content recorded on the main recording medium is recorded on the plurality of removable portable media described above, it is generally necessary for the user to record the recording date and time of the recorded content in the main recording medium. It was complicated. In addition, the continuity of information is maintained in each portable recording medium according to the order of information update and new addition in the main recording medium. In particular, the information of the information between a plurality of portable recording media is maintained. There was also a problem that it was difficult to ensure continuity.
[0004]
Therefore, various techniques are provided for solving such problems. For example, when there is an inquiry request about the update status of a file from the client, the server transfers update information in response to the request. The client compares the update information with the file recorded on the recording medium on its own computer and updates the file as necessary, thereby including a plurality of recording media. A network system in which the content is always the latest is disclosed (for example, see Patent Document 1).
