Description

【0001】

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the above conventional connector, it takes a lot of time for welding and brazing work, and the terminal surface to which the core wire of the electric wire is connected is exposed to the outside from the storage before the core wire is connected. Therefore, stricter care (management) is required to prevent dirt and dust from adhering to the surface of the terminal, and work such as cleaning (wiping off) the terminal surface before starting to connect the core wire. Therefore, there is a problem in that many processes and time are required and the manufacturing cost is increased.
[0006]
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a connector having a configuration capable of simplifying the work of attaching a core wire to a terminal and reducing the manufacturing cost.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to achieve such an object, the connector according to the present invention is connected to the vertical portion having a contact portion that extends in the vertical direction and contacts the terminal of the mating connector on the distal end side, and the proximal end side of the vertical portion. A terminal formed in an L shape in a side view from a horizontal part having a crimping part that extends in the horizontal direction and is crimped and connected to the core of the electric wire on the tip side, and a pair of the terminals, the vertical part is arranged side by side. And a housing made of an insulating material that extends vertically and holds the horizontal portion side by side horizontally. The pair of left and right housing horizontal extending portions are formed by horizontally extending on both sides of the horizontal portion of the pair of terminals held side by side in the housing. It is attached to the extension part so as to be insertable / removable, and the cover member is formed with a pair of wire through holes, and is inserted into the wire through hole and protrudes. After crimping and connecting by applying a pressing force with the core wire inserted into the crimping part at the tip of the electric wire, the slide part is inserted into the groove and the cover member is attached to the housing horizontal extension part. The cover part is configured to cover and protect the pressure-bonding part to which the core wire is pressure-bonded .
[0008]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. 1 to 4 show a connector according to an embodiment of the present invention. A connector 1 shown in this figure is used for a relay portion of a power supply line that supplies power to an electromagnetic solenoid provided in an automatic transmission of an automobile. It is a connector. The connector 1 includes a housing 10, two terminals 20, 20 held by the housing 10, and a cover member 30 that is detachably attached to the housing 10, and two electric wires are connected to the two terminals 20, 20. (Power supply line) 40, 40 is attached.
[0009]
Each of the terminals 20 and 20 is formed in an L shape, and the housing 10 is formed by injecting an electrically insulating resin in a state where two of these terminals 20 and 20 are arranged in a mold (not shown) (so-called insert mold). ) And is integrally formed with the two terminals 20 and 20. Since the housing 10 is made of an electrically insulating material in this way, the adjacent terminals 20 and 20 are ensured to be electrically insulated from each other. Of each terminal 20, a portion extending in the vertical direction is a contact portion 22 that contacts a terminal on a female connector (not shown) side, and a portion extending in the horizontal direction is attached with an electric wire 40 connected to this connector 1. Lead part 24 to be provided.
[0010]
A crimping portion 26 to which a core wire 42 exposed at the end of the electric wire 40 is crimped is provided at the end of each lead portion 24, 24. The crimping portion 26 is formed in a cylindrical shape having an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the core wire 42. By applying (pressing) a pressing force from above and below with the core wire 42 inserted, the crimping portion 26 is formed. It is possible to couple the two inner surfaces 26 and 42 so that the inner peripheral surface of the first and second inner surfaces are in close contact with the core wire 42 from the outside. Similarly to the housing 10, the cover member 30 is formed by molding an electrically insulating resin, penetrates the two electric wires 40, 40, and holds the electric wires 40, 40 in a posture parallel to each other. There are two electric wire through holes 32, 32.
[0011]
In order to attach the electric wire 40 to each of the terminals 20 and 20, first, in a state where the housing 10 and the cover member 30 are separated (as shown in FIG. 1), each electric wire 40 is inserted and attached to the electric wire through hole 32 of the cover member 30. After that, the core wire 42 is inserted into the crimping portion 26 of the terminal 20. If the crimping part 26 is pressed from above and below in FIG. 1, the core wire 42 is crimped into the crimping part 26 as described above (see the left crimping part 26 shown in FIG. 1). When the two electric wires 40 are attached to the corresponding terminals 20, the cover member 30 is moved and attached to the housing 10.
[0012]
The cover member 30 is attached by inserting slide portions 34, 34 provided horizontally at both ends of the cover member 30 into grooves 12, 12 provided horizontally extending at both ends of the housing 10. In this state, the cover member 30 is pressed toward the housing 10. As a result, the cover member 30 is provided in the housing 10 so as to receive the protruding portion 14 that extends horizontally from the center of the housing 10 in a groove 36 that extends horizontally on the lower surface side of the center portion. Are combined (see FIG. 2). Note that the cover member 30 thus coupled to the housing 10 can be separated from the housing 10 by being pulled out in a direction opposite to the coupling direction. That is, the cover member 30 is detachable from the housing 10.
[0013]
In the state where the cover member 30 is attached to the housing 10 as described above, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the protrusion half 16 provided to protrude downward from the lower surface of the housing 10 and the lower surface of the cover member 30. A protrusion half 38 projecting downward from the protrusion, and a protrusion T formed by integrating the protrusion halves 16 and 38 (there are two protrusions T in the width direction of the housing 10). Is attached to a connector attachment hole (not shown) provided in a predetermined member (here, for example, an electromagnetic solenoid device not shown) to which the connector 1 is attached.
[0014]
As described above, in the connector according to the present invention, since the cover member 30 is detachable from the housing 10, the crimping portion 26 can be covered with the cover member 30 until just before the core wire 42 of the electric wire 40 is attached to the terminal 20. In addition, it is possible to effectively prevent dust and dust from adhering to the crimping portion 26 (that is, the attachment portion of the core wire 42 in the terminal 20), and the core wire 42 is attached to the terminal 20 by crimping. Compared to the conventional case where the core wire is attached to the terminal by attaching or the like, the attaching operation of the core wire 42 to the terminal 20 is simplified, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced. In addition, even after the core wire 42 is attached to the terminal 20, the attachment portion (crimping portion 26) is protected by the cover member 30, so that even if an excessive bending or the like acts on the electric wire 40, the core wire 42 and the terminal 20 can be connected. It is possible to prevent the joint from being loaded.
[0015]
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described so far, the scope of the present invention is not limited to those shown in the foregoing embodiments. For example, in the above-described embodiment, the application target of the present invention is the male connector of the male and female connectors, but the present invention can be similarly applied to the female connector. In the above-described embodiment, the connector to which the present invention is applied is used for a relay portion of a power supply line that supplies power to an electromagnetic solenoid provided in an automatic transmission of an automobile. This is an example. Therefore, the connector according to the present invention can be used for a relay portion of an electric wire such as a signal line or a power supply line used for any application.
[0016]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, in the connector according to the present invention, since the cover member is detachable from the housing, the crimping portion can be covered with the cover member until just before the wire core wire is attached to the terminal. In addition to effectively preventing dust and dirt from adhering to the terminal (the core wire attachment part of the terminal), the core wire is attached to the terminal by crimping, so the core wire is attached to the terminal by welding or brazing. Compared with the prior art, the work of attaching the core wire to the terminal is simplified, and the manufacturing cost can be reduced. In addition, even after the core wire is attached to the terminal, this attachment part (crimped part) is protected by the cover member, so that even if the wire is subjected to excessive bending, a load is applied to the joint between the core wire and the terminal. Is prevented.
