本発明は、金属製キャビネットを用いたスピーカに関し、特にキャビネットにテンションが与えられてなるスピーカに関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、金属、木材を問わずパネルにテンションを与えると振動の態様が変わり、相当な制振作用がもたらされることが知られており、金属製スピーカキャビネットとしては、内部伝播速度が早く立ち上がりのよい音を得るために比較的量産可能なものの中で最も強度の強いジュラルミンを用いる試みがなされている。

かかるジュラルミンはアルミニウムと異なり、溶接ができず、また粘性がないので屈曲すると割れてしまうことから、比較的厚い板を組み合わせてその縁部をネジ止めしたり、鋳造によって製造されていたところである。
しかしながら、ジュラルミンの厚板のネジ止めや鋳造では材料コストが高いのみならず、十分なテンションが与えられず、当該材料の持つ特性を十分生かすことができていなかった。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
そこで、かかるジュラルミンを用いるとともにこれにテンションを与えて内部伝播速度が早く立ち上がりのよい音が得られるスピーカキャビネットを備えたスピーカ提供をすることに技術的課題が存する。然るに、本発明者は、ジュラルミンも比較的薄い板厚とすれば、緩やかな曲げには絶え得ることに着目して本発明を為すに到った。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記課題は、6枚のジュラルミン製のパネルから構成されたキャビネットとスピーカユニットとから構成され、上下及び左右のパネルはそれぞれ緩やかな曲面をもって形成され、それぞれ対向する上下、左右、前後のパネルはそれぞれ貫通ネジ棒にて互いに引っ張り合わせてテンションを掛けた状態で組み立てられたスピーカキャビネットを備えたスピーカによって解決する。なお、当該ジュラルミン製パネルの厚さは4mm程度を上限とする比較的薄いものを用いるのが亀裂を生じることなく屈曲面を形成する上で好ましい。かかるスピーカによれば、キャビネットが強度の高い材質にテンションが与えられた構造であるので、箱体の強度が強くなるのみならず、内部伝播速度が高く立ち上がりのよい音を得ることができる。さらには、上下及び左右の各一対のパネルにおいて平行面を形成することがないので、定在波が生じ難い形状となる。

また、上記スピーカユニットは前パネルに組み込まれるとともに、後パネルに螺入されたネジ棒にてスピーカユニット背面を押圧した構造とすれば、金属製であるスピーカユニット自体の制振にも寄与する。

かかるスピーカのキャビネットを組み立てるには、まず6枚のパネルの中、上下及び左右のパネルにベンディングローラ又はプレス等によって緩やかな曲面を形成した上で、対向する上下、左右のパネルをそれぞれ貫通ネジ棒にて互いに引っ張り合わせて筒状に組み立てる。次いで、当該筒状体の両端開口部の形状に合わせて前後パネルを形成し、前パネルには予めスピーカユニットを取り付け、前パネルと後パネルとによって該筒状体の前後開口部を貫通ネジ棒で互いに引っ張り合わせて密閉する。かかる方法によって、溶接ができず粘性も低いジュラルミンにテンションを与えた状態で、しかも上下及び左右の各一対のパネルにおいて平行面を形成することがない箱体に組み立てることができる。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、本発明のスピーカに係る実施例について添付図面を参照しつつさらに詳細に説明することとする。
図1は、本願発明の第1実施例にかかるスピーカ1を示すもので、それぞれ対称形状の緩やかな曲面を有しており筒状に形成される上下パネル2a、2b及び左右パネル3a、3bと、当該筒状体の両側開口を密閉する前後パネル4a、4b及び前パネル4aに取り付けられたスピーカユニット5とを有している。

上下パネル2a、2bは、中央部分が緩やかな曲面を描いて外側に膨らむとともに両端部がやや反り返った波状に形成され、その前後部2個所に貫通ネジ棒6a、6bが挿通する貫通孔が形成されている。また、左右パネル4a、4bは緩やかな曲面を描いて反った形状に形成されると共に、前後部2個所には貫通ネジ棒7a、7bが挿通する貫通孔が形成されている。

【発明の効果】
本発明によれば、強度の高いが溶接ができず粘性も低いジュラルミン板を用いてテンションが与えられ内部伝播速度が高く立ち上がりのよい音を得ることができるスピーカを容易にかつ、安いコストでつくることができることとなった。
さらには、上下及び左右の各一対のパネルにおいて平行面を形成することがないので、定在波が生じ難いスピーカを提供できることとなった。
