Next, a method for determining the traveling order of the tracking vehicle in the road area to be tracked will be described. Sampling time tkThe position vector underbar ξ of the smooth vector of the j-th tracking target calculated one sampling beforek-1 jIs given by equation (21). On the other hand, the unit vector in the positive y-axis direction, which is the traveling direction of the vehicle, isdThen, the inner product Ψ of these vectors expressed by the equation (22)k-1 jIs the component of the vehicle position vector in the vehicle traveling direction,k-1 jJust look at the magnitude relationship. [0043]
Next, a method for determining a group of tracking vehicles will be described. Corresponding to the traveling order of the tracking vehicle determined by the above-described processing, the order of the position vector of the smooth vector of the tracking vehicle is changed from the top to the underbar ξk-1 1, Underbar ξk-1 2, Underbar ξk-1 3Rewrite as ... [Equation 9]
[0045]
Next, a method for determining the existence order of observation vectors in a road area to be tracked will be described. Similar to the method of determining the traveling order of the tracking vehicle, the observation vector exists in the same order as the observation vector represented by Expression (24) and the unit vector underbar e in the vehicle traveling direction.dInner product λk-1 iJust look at the magnitude relationship. That is, the inner product λk-1 iThe result of arranging the observation vectors in the descending order is the existence order of the observation vectors.

[0047]
Next, a correlation determination method using order information of the tracking target and the observation vector will be described. In this process, the correlation is determined so as not to reverse the order of the tracking target and the order of the observation vectors so that the tracking vehicle is not overtaken. In the correlation determination, the following processing is performed for each group classified in the group determination of the tracking vehicle.
[0048]
In order from the first tracking vehicle, among the observation vectors in the correlation gate of the tracking vehicle, the observation vector whose existence order is the first side is stored as being correlated with the tracking vehicle. At this time, the observation vector determined to have a correlation is excluded from the subsequent correlation objects of the tracking vehicle. For example, as shown in FIG. 3, it is assumed that three tracking vehicles are determined to be in the same group, and that there are four observation vectors determined to be within the correlation gate of these tracking vehicles.
[0049]
Here, the traveling order of the tracking vehicle is from the top to the underbar ξk-1 1, Underbar ξk-1 2, Underbar ξk-1 3The observation vector exists in the order of the underbar zk, 1, Underbar zk, 2, Underbar zk, 3, Underbar zk, 4, And. FIG. 3 shows the internal / external relationship of these correlation gates. When it is determined that the correlation gate is inside, it is indicated by ○, and when it is determined that it is outside the correlation gate, it is indicated by ×. First, underbar ξ, the leading vehiclek-1 1Pay attention to.
[0050]
Of the observation vectors existing in the correlation gate of this vehicle, the order of existence is the underbar zk, 1So, underbar ξk-1 1Is underbar zk, 1It is determined that there is a correlation. Next, underbar zk, 1And underbar ξ which is the following traveling vehiclek-1 2Pay attention to. Among the observation vectors existing in the correlation gate of this vehicle, the existence order is the underbar zk, 2So, underbar ξk-1 2Is underbar zk, 2It is determined that there is a correlation. Similarly, underbar ξk-1 3Is underbar zk, 3It is determined that there is a correlation.
[0051]
Next, the smoothing process will be described. The observation vector determined to have a correlation with the tracking target by the correlation processing described above is used as the underbar zkAnd the gain matrix Kk, Smooth vector underbar xkHat (+) and smoothing error covariance matrix Pk(+) Is given by equations (25) to (27) according to the theory of ordinary Kalman filter.
[0066]
In order from the first tracking vehicle, the residual ε represented by equation (20) among the observed vectors in the correlation gate of the tracking vehiclek, iIs determined to have a correlation with the tracking vehicle, and the combination is stored. At this time, the observation vector determined to have a correlation and the observation vector whose order of existence is earlier than that are excluded from the correlation object of the following tracking vehicle.
[0067]
For example, as shown in FIG. 5, it is assumed that three tracking vehicles are determined to be in the same group, and there are four observation vectors determined to be within the correlation gate of these tracking vehicles. Here, the traveling order of the tracking vehicle is from the top to the underbar ξk-1 1, Underbar ξk-1 2, Underbar ξk-1 3The observation vector exists in the order of the underbar zk, 1, Underbar zk, 2, Underbar zk, 3, Underbar zk, 4And FIG. 5 shows these correlation gate internal / external relations and residuals, and the residual is represented by “x” when it is determined that the correlation gate is determined to be within the correlation gate.
[0068]
First, underbar ξ, the leading vehiclek-1 1Pay attention to. The observation vector with the smallest residual among the observation vectors existing in the correlation gate of this vehicle is underbar zk, 2So, underbar ξk-1 1Is underbar zk, 2It is determined that there is a correlation. Next, underbar zk, 2And underbar z that exists ahead of thisk, 1And underbar ξ which is the following traveling vehiclek-1 2Pay attention to. Among the observation vectors existing in the correlation gate of this vehicle, the smallest residual is the underbar zk, 3So, underbar ξk-1 2Is underbar zk, 3It is determined that there is a correlation. Similarly, underbar ξk-1 3Is underbar zk, 4It is determined that there is a correlation.
[0069]
Next, the smoothing process will be described. The observation vector determined to have a correlation with the tracking target by the correlation processing described above is used as the underbar zkAnd the gain matrix Kk, Smooth vector underbar xkHat (+) and smoothing error covariance matrix Pk(+) Is given by equations (25) to (27) according to the theory of ordinary Kalman filter. [0081]
Next, a method for generating pseudo observation data when there is a tracking target without correlated observation data will be described. When there is a tracking target in which correlation cannot be obtained with any observation vector in the
[0082]
Therefore, the tracking target for which the correlation cannot be obtained is obtained by dividing the observation vector obtained by the correlation with the preceding and following vehicles at the same ratio as the interval of the smooth position one sample before the preceding and succeeding vehicles within the same group. Smoothing is performed using the determined position. The position vector of the smooth vector before the sampling of the tracking target for which no correlation is obtained is the underbar ξk-1 jAnd Then, the position vector of the smooth vector before one sampling of the vehicle before a and the vehicle before b is respectively underbar ξk-1 j-aAnd underbar ξk-1 j + bAnd the observed vectors at the current time correlated with these are underbars zk, aAnd underbar zk, bThen, a position underbar z that internally divides the observation vector obtained by the correlation with the preceding and following vehicles at the same ratio as the interval between the smooth positions one sample beforek, jCan be represented by formula (29). However, if there is a tracking target that is correlated only before or after the tracking target for which no correlation is obtained, the position vector of the smooth vector one sampling before the tracking target is used as the underbar ξk-1 lThen, the position extrapolated at the position of the difference vector of the smooth vector represented by Expression (30) is used.

[0084]
Next, the smoothing process will be described. By the above-described correlation processing, the tracking target where the correlation target exists has the observation vector to be correlated with the underbar zkThe tracking target for which there is no correlation target is obtained by substituting the position vector obtained by the above-described pseudo observation data generation method with the underbar zkAnd the gain matrix Kk, Smooth vector underbar xkHat (+) and smoothing error covariance matrix Pk(+) Is given by equations (25) to (27) according to the theory of ordinary Kalman filter.
