【0004】
例えば、ISOM(International Symposium of Optical Memories)1998, Th-N-06 Title"Rewritable dual layer phase-chamge optical disk" K. Nagata et al.(以下、先行技術文献という。)

The present invention relates to a signal recording apparatus and a signal recording method.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Optical recording media on which information signals can be optically recorded include rewritable (overwritten) optical disks and write-once optical disks. The rewritable optical disc includes an optical disc on which an information signal is recorded by utilizing the phase change of the recording film. The write-once optical disc records an information signal by using a dye material for the recording film. There is an optical disc.
[0003]
In recent years, as data has become large-scale, an optical recording medium capable of recording a large amount of data has been proposed. An optical recording medium capable of large-capacity recording includes an optical disc having a plurality of recording layers for recording information signals. That is, for example, an optical disc on which n (n is an integer of 2 or more) recording layers is formed has a recording capacity n times that of an optical disc composed of a single recording layer.

Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances, and has an optical recording medium that has a plurality of recording layers and enables recording and reproduction of information signals without deterioration on each recording layer, and It is an object of the present invention to provide a signal recording apparatus and a signal recording method capable of recording an information signal on such an optical recording medium without deterioration.
[0050]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, the optical recording medium according to the present invention is formed into a land and a groove to form a recording track, and the recording track is irradiated with a laser beam through an objective lens to generate an information signal. There are n (n is an integer of 2 or more) recording layers to be recorded and / or reproduced, and at least from the first recording layer facing the objective lens to the (n−1) th recording layer in advance. The recorded address information is recorded by meandering the boundary between land and groove, Information signals are recorded on the entire surface of the recording layer in order from the recording layer far from the objective lens to the recording layer closer to the objective lens. It will be done.
[0051]
In the optical recording medium having such a configuration, address information is recorded without an address portion being provided across the recording track.
[0052]
Further, in order to solve the above-described problem, the signal recording apparatus according to the present invention forms a recording track as a land and a groove, and the recording track is irradiated with a laser beam through the objective lens. There are n (n is an integer of 2 or more) recording layers for recording and / or reproducing information signals, and at least (n-1) th recording from the first recording layer facing the objective lens. An information signal was recorded on the entire surface of one recording layer on which an information signal was recorded on an optical recording medium in which address information recorded in advance on the layer was recorded by meandering between the land and groove boundaries. Later, a recording unit having a function of additionally writing an information signal to another recording layer is provided.
[0053]
The signal recording apparatus having such a configuration records the information signal on the entire surface of at least one recording layer and then appends to the other recording layer on the optical recording medium described above. The additional recording of the information signal to the recording layers subsequent to the recording layer is based on the laser light transmitted through the recording layer in which no information signal is recorded or the recording layer in which the information signal is recorded on the entire surface.
[0054]
Further, in the signal recording method according to the present invention, in order to solve the above-described problem, a recording track is formed as a land and a groove, and the recording track is irradiated with a laser beam through an objective lens for information. There are n (n is an integer of 2 or more) recording layers on which signals are recorded and / or reproduced, and at least from the first recording layer on the side facing the objective lens to the (n-1) th recording layer After the information signal is recorded on the entire surface of one recording layer on which the information signal is recorded on the optical recording medium in which the address information recorded in advance is recorded by meandering the boundary between the land and the groove Then, an information signal is added to other recording layers.
[0055]
In such a signal recording method, an information signal is recorded on the entire surface of at least one recording layer and then recorded on another recording layer on the optical recording medium described above. The additional recording of the information signal to the recording layer is performed by a laser beam transmitted through a recording layer in which no information signal is recorded or a recording layer in which the information signal is recorded on the entire surface.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In this embodiment, the recording apparatus according to the present invention is configured as an optical disk apparatus that records and reproduces information signals with respect to a phase change type optical disk.

The first and second recording layers 51 and 52 are formed with a recording film of a material that enables recording of an information signal using phase change. For example, the recording film is made of GeSbTe.

The optical disc apparatus can record and reproduce information signals with respect to the
[0092]
Further, the optical disc apparatus can perform tracking servo without being affected by the meandering component based on the address information of the push-pull signal. That is, since the tracking servo is limited in the controllable frequency of the objective lens driving device constituted by the actuator 11 and the like, it is controlled in the servo band of about 2 kHz, and the address information is configured as described above. The optical disk apparatus is affected by the meandering component based on the address information of the push-pull signal because the meandering is formed so that a signal having a frequency higher than the servo band is generated when the light spot travels on the recording track. The tracking servo can be performed without any problems.
[0093]
Further, the optical disc apparatus has a function of additionally recording or overwriting information signals on the

Specifically, when the optical disc apparatus starts recording an information signal from the
[0096]
With such an additional recording function of the optical disc apparatus, an information signal is recorded on the entire surface of one recording layer and then recorded on the other recording layer. Is caused by the laser beam transmitted through one recording layer recorded on the entire surface.

In addition, when the light intensity of the optical disk changes in this way, it is conceivable to provide a control system for controlling the light intensity as a countermeasure. However, such a control system for controlling the light intensity is generally expensive. It is configured by an electric circuit or the like. However, since the optical disk apparatus can record the information signal with the optimum intensity without the need for such a control system for controlling the light intensity, the information signal for the

In this case, the optical disk is formed into a land and a groove to form a recording track, and a recording layer on which the information signal is recorded and / or reproduced by irradiating the recording track with a laser beam through the objective lens 4. n (n is an integer of 3 or more) layers, and address information recorded in advance from the first recording layer on the side facing the objective lens 4 to the (n-1) th recording layer is Recorded by meandering groove boundaries. Then, the optical disc apparatus records the information signal on the entire surface of one recording layer on which the information signal is recorded on such an optical disc, and then appends the information signal to the other recording layer. .
[0105]
As a result, the optical disc apparatus records information signals on the entire surface of at least one recording layer and then appends to other recording layers on the optical disc, so that information to the recording layers after the second recording layer is recorded. The additional recording of the signal is caused by a laser beam transmitted through a recording layer in which no information signal is recorded or a recording layer in which the information signal is recorded on the entire surface.
[0106]
Therefore, the optical disk apparatus can record an information signal without deterioration even on an optical disk having n recording layers by the above-described additional recording function.
[0107]
Note that such an additional recording function is such that a control unit such as a CPU that controls the components of the optical disk device has such an additional recording function, and information on the recording layers 51 and 52 is obtained by the laser beam condensed by the objective lens 4. This is realized by controlling recording means for recording a signal by the control unit. For example, the recording means is a portion configured by an optical system such as the objective lens 4 that condenses the laser light emitted from the

[0124]
As a result, when the information signal is recorded on a part of the other recording layer positioned between the one recording layer to be overwritten and the objective lens, the optical disc apparatus stores information on the remaining part of the other recording layer. Since the information signal is overwritten on one recording layer after the signal is recorded, overwriting recording on the other recording layer has a recording layer in which no information signal is recorded or an information signal recorded on the entire surface. This is due to the laser light transmitted through the recording layer.

Therefore, the optical disk apparatus can record the information signal without deterioration on the optical disk having n recording layers by the second overwrite function.

In the above-described embodiment, the optical disk apparatus has been described by taking a phase change optical disk using phase change that can be overwritten as an optical recording medium. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the optical disc apparatus can record and reproduce information signals on a write-once type optical disc that can only be added to the recording film by photochemical change of the dye.
[0148]
In this case, the optical disk apparatus that records and reproduces information signals on the write-once optical disk includes the write-once function of the optical disk apparatus of the above-described embodiment, so that the information signal is not degraded even on the write-once optical disk.
