dD=−(10D LOGe)dT ………(2)
Di ′=Di −Bi (1≦i≦p) ………(4)
となる。
【0018】
Yi=Round(A・Log10(Di′+1)+0.5)(1≦i≦p)………(5)
A:(2n −1)/Log10(2n )
Li ′=Round(A・Log10(Li −Bi +1)+0.5)(1≦i≦p) ………(6)
A:(2n −1)/Log10(2n )
Zi =Li ′−Yi (1≦i≦p) ………(7)
LUTout =0(0≦A1 ≦P0)
LUTout =1(P0<Ai ≦P1)
LUTout =2(P1<Ai ≦2(n+3) −1)
P0:(2(n+3) −1)・Q0/Log10(2(n+3) )
P1:(2(n+3) −1)・Q1/Log10(2(n+3) ) ………(12)
となる。
【0031】
Xs =V・T[mm] ………(16)
ε=i・Xf/Xo−Round(i・Xf/Xo);(1≦i≦p−7)
(|ε|<1) ………(18)
Di ′=Di −Bi (1≦i≦p) ………(20)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image processing apparatus, an image processing method, and a computer-readable recording medium suitable for processing a digitized image signal obtained by optically reading a medical X-ray film image. .
[0002]
[Prior art]
As an apparatus for reading conventional X-ray film images, light is irradiated to the X-ray film from a light source such as a halogen lamp or a semiconductor laser, and the transmitted light from the film is received by an image sensor such as a CCD line sensor or a photomultiplier. An X-ray film image reading apparatus that converts an electric signal into a digital value is known. Since these X-ray film image reading apparatuses are sometimes used for diagnosis or the like, high performance is required.
[0003]
In such an image reading apparatus, it is necessary to obtain information with high gradation characteristics that is faithful to the film, and identification of gradation in the apparatus is required to match visual characteristics. The discrimination for visual gradation is not linear with the amount of light transmitted from the film,
Concentration D = −LOG10 (T), T: Transmittance (1)
It is known that it can be distinguished even by a faint difference when the amount of light is small, that is, when it is close to black. Therefore, the X-ray film image reading apparatus normally outputs a density value. A CCD line sensor, which is an image sensor, outputs an electrical signal having a magnitude proportional to light, but includes noise components such as reset noise and shot noise in the output. Also, noise components due to amplifiers, A / D converters, and the like are included in the output of AD. These noises do not depend on the amount of light except for shot noise, and are almost constant.
[0004]
The density D is expressed by the formula (1) as described above. When this equation (1) is fully differentiated,
dD = − (10DLOGe) dT (2)
Where the noise is the variance value σ2If the distribution is a normal distribution according to, the dispersion value of the density D is (10DLOGe)2σ2It becomes.
That is, when the noise is a standard deviation σ, the noise converted to the density value is an exponential function (10D(LOGe).
[0005]
Since this noise can be regarded as an independent random number, conventionally, the noise is suppressed by performing spatial filtering by moving average or the like. That is, a set of pixels is represented by {Hi| I = 1 to N}, where P is the moving average score, the moving average filter is
[0006]
[Expression 1]
[0007]
The dispersion value is 1 / P. That is, noise becomes 1 / √P by moving average filtering.
[0008]
FIG. 6 shows the relationship between the density value using the moving average score as a parameter and noise.
In the same figure, 41 shows what converted into S / N ratio required for the X-ray film image reader by literature mentioned later, 42 shows noise when a moving average score is 2 points, 43 shows The noise when the moving average score is 4 points is shown, and 44 is the noise when the moving average score is 8 points.
[0009]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
According to the document High-resolution, high-performance radiographic film scanner (SPIE Vo1.1231 Medical Imaging IV), the signal-to-noise ratio required for the X-ray film image reader originally depends on the film noise ratio. It is said that it is necessary to be 1/3 or less.
In order to achieve this S / N ratio within the read density range, when multi-point moving average filtering is performed, noise is suppressed, but MTF is lowered and the image is blurred. Further, when the number of moving average filters is reduced in order to suppress the decrease in MTF, there is a problem that the SN ratio originally required for the X-ray film image reading apparatus cannot be achieved within the reading density range.
[0010]
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to realize an SN ratio originally required for an X-ray film image reading apparatus over a wide density range while suppressing image quality deterioration due to a decrease in MTF.
[0011]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The image processing apparatus of the present invention is required for the filter means for changing the spatial filter characteristics by changing the moving average score, which is the number of pixels used for moving average filtering, and the density value of the pixel of interest in the image signal. Selecting means for selecting the minimum number of moving average points that are equal to or less than the noise conversion value of the S / N ratio, and filtering processing for the pixel of interest by the filtering means with the moving average points selected by the selecting means It is characterized by doing.
[0012]
The computer-readable recording medium of the present invention includes a filter unit that changes a spatial filter characteristic by changing a moving average score, which is the number of pixels used when moving average filtering a computer for image processing, and an image It functions as a selection means for selecting the minimum number of moving average points that are equal to or less than the noise conversion value of the SN ratio required for the density value of the pixel of interest in the signal, and the moving average points selected by the selection means are as follows: A program for filtering the target pixel by the filter unit is recorded.
[0013]
According to the image processing method of the present invention, the moving average that is equal to or less than the noise conversion value of the SN ratio required for the density value of the pixel of interest in the image signal is selected from the moving average score that is the number of pixels used for moving average filtering. The method includes a step of selecting a minimum number of points, and a step of filtering the target pixel with the selected moving average number of points.

[0034]
In the first configuration example described above, the product-sum points are 2, 4, and 8 in order to simplify the arithmetic circuit for combining the number of bits. Therefore, the characteristics of the filter suddenly change, and the switching point of the filter is It may appear unnatural on the image. Therefore, a case where a spatial filter having different characteristics is further added to the first configuration example will be described.

[0038]
The above is to obtain the product sum output of 2 points, 4 points and 8 points. Increase the number of shift registers to 16, 32, etc., and add the adder circuit and bit shifter to further increase the number of product sum points. It is also possible to raise SN.
[0039]
Next, the density correction table 11 shown in FIG. 1 includes density error due to the influence of optical light directivity of the light receiving element or light emitting element, density value error due to light scattering on the surface of the condensing optical system or light receiving element, and light reception. It is used for the purpose of correcting an error in density value due to the non-linearity of the element or the subsequent electric circuit.
This density correction table 11 is used by creating a table that reads in advance a film having a reference density value and matches the result with the density value. The value corrected by the density correction table 11 is Zi″ (1 ≦ i ≦ p−7).

By the way, pitch X in the sub-scanning directionsWhen changing the light accumulation time T of the CCD to change the light amount, the light amount of the light source is adjusted so that the output of the CCD becomes appropriate.

In the present embodiment, the spatial filter that can output different characteristics has been described. However, it is also possible to select a plurality of spatial filters having different characteristics.
In this embodiment, a one-dimensional spatial filter has been described. However, the above-described filter may be a two-dimensional spatial filter using a line buffer or the like.
[0048]
According to the present embodiment, it is possible to change the characteristics of the product-sum filter to be used according to the value obtained by summing the plurality of pixels before and after the target pixel. Specifically, by setting the output selection circuit so that an output with a high sum of product points is used at a high density and an output with a low sum of products is used at a low density, the MTF in the low density part is set. An image in which noise is suppressed in the high density portion can be obtained without reducing the image quality.
[0049]
FIG. 5 shows noise characteristics of the X-ray film image reading apparatus obtained by the present invention.
In the figure, 51 represents the noise conversion value of the S / N ratio required for the X-ray film image reading apparatus according to the above document, 52 represents the noise when the moving average score is 2, and 53 represents the moving average score of 4 54 indicates noise when the moving average score is 8 points, and 55 indicates the moving average score from 2 points to 4 points and 4 points to 8 points at the density Q0 and Q1 points. The characteristic of the noise of the X-ray film image reader obtained by switching is shown.
[0050]
The density Q0 is a density at which the noise of the X-ray film image reading apparatus when the moving average score is 2 is equal to the noise conversion value of the SN ratio required for the apparatus, and the density Q1 is 4 moving average scores. This is the density at which the noise of the X-ray film image reading apparatus at this time is equal to the noise conversion value of the SN ratio required for the apparatus.
[0051]
Accordingly, it is possible to realize the SN ratio originally required for the X-ray film image reading apparatus over a wide density range while suppressing deterioration in image quality due to MTF reduction in the low density portion.

The operations after the density correction table 11 are the same as those in the first embodiment.
[0071]
According to the present embodiment, the characteristics of the product-sum filter to be used can be changed in accordance with the value obtained by multiplying and summing a plurality of pixels before and after the target pixel with respect to the pixel data after black correction. Specifically, an output selection circuit is set so that an output with a large sum of products and sums is used where it corresponds to a high concentration, and an output with a small sum of products and sums is used in a place corresponding to a low concentration. Since the SN ratio (number of bits) can be increased before logarithmic conversion is performed in the density portion, the influence of quantization noise in the logarithmic conversion lookup table can be further reduced. As a result, the SN ratio required for the X-ray film image reading apparatus can be realized over a wide density range without reducing the MTF in the low density portion.
[0072]
In addition, if the average value of the dark distribution is calculated in advance, the density value of the pixel data can be estimated even before black correction. Therefore, a black correction calculation can be performed by placing a density adaptive filter in front of the black correction circuit. The SN ratio (number of bits) can be increased in advance, and the influence of quantization noise in black correction can be reduced, and the influence of quantization noise in the logarithmic conversion lookup table can be reduced.

This storage medium stores a program for executing the processing described above. [0074]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the S / N ratio of the output image signal can be made appropriate.
[0076]
Therefore, when processing the image signal read from the X-ray film, the SN ratio required for the X-ray film image reading apparatus can be realized over a wide density range without reducing the resolution at the low density portion. it can.
