本発明は、使用者の体格に対応してその体を支持する支持面の大きさを変更する必要がある椅子やベッド等の家具に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
椅子やベッド等、使用者の体の荷重を受ける家具においては、体を適切に支持することができる有効支持面の位置が使用者の体格に合っていなければ、使用者は窮屈な姿勢を強いられるなど不自然な格好となっって安定した使用感を得ることができない。そのために例えば椅子においては、使用者の背中を支持するための背もたれ部を上下移動可能に構成し、その背もたれ部全体を上下に移動させることで、背もたれ部の高さ位置を使用者の体格に合わせて変化させるようにしたものが知られている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
ところが、このような椅子であると、背もたれ部は使用者の体格に応じて上下させることができるものの、実質的に背中を支持することができる背もたれ部の有効支持領域の大きさが変化するものではない。したがって、例えば背もたれ部をあまりに高位置まで移動させると、使用者の腰を背もたれ部でサポートすることができなくなるという不具合が生じる。また、背もたれ部全体を上下動作させるには相応の大きな機構部品が必要となるため、椅子の大型化や重量化を招く可能性もある。

本発明は、以上のような不具合に鑑みて、上述のような椅子に限らず、使用者の荷重を支持する必要のある家具において、体を実質的に支持することができる有効支持領域の大きさを変化させることで、快適な使用感が得られる家具を構成することを目的としている。

そこで本発明は、家具本体と、家具本体の少なくとも表面側において使用者の荷重を受けて支持する張り地と、家具本体に設けられその張り地に張力を付与した状態に支持する支持部とを具備してなり、支持部が、家具本体に前記張り地の上端部及び下端部を固定して設けた固定支持部と、この固定支持部に対して移動可能に家具本体に設けた可動支持部とからなり、これら固定支持部及び可動支持部の間に張力を掛けた状態に張り地を支持させているものであって、前記可動支持部による張り地の支持位置を変化させることによって、張り地において使用者の荷重を実質的に支持し得る有効支持領域の大きさを変更し得るように構成したものである。

以下、本発明の実施形態を、図面を参照して説明する。

図1に本比較例に係る家具として適用した椅子A1を示す。この椅子A1は、家具本体として背もたれ部A1a、座部A1b及びそれらを支持する脚部A1cを備えた椅子本体を具備するものであって、背もたれ部A1aに着座者の背中から受ける荷重を支持する張り地1を設けている。なお、座部A1b及び脚部A1cにはいかなる構成のものを適用してもよく、本比較例において格別の特徴を有するものではないため説明を省略するものとする。

比較例における背もたれ部A1aは、図1及び図2に示すように、張り地1において着座者の背中を実質的に支持し得る有効支持領域X1の上下方向の大きさを変更できるように構成したものである。具体的に説明すると、背もたれ部A1aは、脚部A1bその他の適宜部位に下端部2bを支持させたパイプ状をなす固定支持部2と、この固定支持部2の上端部2a側にテレスコープ状に嵌め合わせたパイプ状の可動支持部3とを備えており、これら固定支持部2及び可動支持部3によって張り地1を支持する支持部Z1を構成している。可動支持部3は、上述のように固定支持部2に嵌め合わせることによって上下スライド可能に固定支持部2に支持されており、そのスライド状態を図示しないロック手段を介して任意の位置でロックできるようにしている。また、固定支持部2の下端部2b側には、基端を固定支持部2に取り付けて先端を固定支持部2の前上方へ湾曲させつつ迫り出させたサポート部材23を設けている。一方、可動支持部3のうち側面視「く」字型に屈曲させた上端部3aにも、弓形に湾曲させたサポート部材33を設けており、これらサポート部材23、33の前面側に、伸縮性に乏しい張り地1を掛け渡すように設けている。

このように張り地1を取り付けることによって、例えば図1(実線)及び図2(a)に示す降下位置にある可動支持部3を固定支持部に沿って上動させると、その略2倍の速度で張り地1が貫通孔34から繰り出され、さらにローラ31を介して背もたれ部A1aの表面側となる使用位置側へ繰り出される。その結果、張り地1のうち使用位置側において着座者の背中を有効に支持し得る有効支持領域X1の上下方向寸法が、可動支持部3の上動速度と略同速度で上方に向かって拡大する。逆に、図1(想像線)及び図2(b)に示す上昇位置にある可動支持部3を下動させると、その略2倍の速度で滑車32が張り地1を巻き込むとともに、ローラ31を介して張り地1が可動支持部3の下動速度と略等速で使用位置側から引き揚げられる結果、有効支持領域X1の上下方向寸法が、可動支持部3の下動速度と略同速度で下方に向かって縮小する。すなわち本比較例の椅子A1は、張り地1の一部が可動支持部3の上動動作に伴って順次使用位置側へと繰り出され、一方、可動支持部3の下動動作に伴って使用位置側から引き出されるため、上下のサポート部材23、33間には可動支持部3の位置を問わずに常に適切な量の張り地1をテンションを掛けた状態に架け渡しておくことができる。
