近年、荷物の保管、運搬用のパレットの多くは、木製パレットに代わり耐水性、耐腐食性に優れている合成樹脂製パレットが使用されている。合成樹脂製パレットの製造方法には、射出成形機による一体成型方法と、予め分割成形した部品の分割面を突き合わせ溶着することによって一体のパレットを得る突き合わせ溶着成型方法等がある。後者の突き合わせ溶着成型方法の1つに、パレットの荷物の載置面に対して平行に桁の部分で分割する方法がある。前記方法により製造されたパレットのデッキボードの下面には縦横に補強リブを設け、前記上下のデッキボードを連結する桁は上下面及び側面を閉じた中空構造とされている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記のように、上下面及び側面を閉じた中空構造の桁の場合には、桁が破損すると次のような問題がある。桁の破損は、例えば、フォークリフトによる運搬作業中にフォークリフトのフォークが衝突することにより生じたり、他の物品との衝突によって生じることがある。桁が破損しても使用上問題がなければそのまま使用される。桁が破損すると、破損部分から桁内に水が入ることがある。即ち、パレットの洗浄中に、洗浄水が破損部分から入ったり、屋外に保管中に雨水が破損部分から入ったりすることがある。桁内に入った雨水等は、桁の破損部分を下向きにして水抜きをしなければならないが、パレットのような大型成型品においてはその取り扱いが困難であり、完全に水抜きをすることはできない。また、破損部分が複数箇所あり、その向きが相違している場合には、水抜き作業は一層困難になる。一方、水抜きをせず雨水等が桁内に溜まったままにしておくと、輸送中の振動等により、桁内の水が流出して積載した荷物を汚染するおそれがあるばかりでなく、衛生上も好ましくない。

突き合わせ溶着成型方法では、強度上の理由から桁は上下面を閉じた中空構造とされるために、破損が防止される構造体とされることは勿論、万が一破損により雨水等が入った場合に自然に排水されるか、容易に水抜き作業ができる合成樹脂製パレットが望まれていた。この発明は、かかる現況に鑑みてなされたもので、強度を減ずることなく自然に桁内の排水がされ、あるいは容易に水抜き作業ができる合成樹脂製パレットを提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
