【0001】

図1において、1はデータ処理装置、2はRIP(raster image processor)、3は印刷機、4は生産管理システムである。
【0016】
【0036】
▲2▼n*Lmax=Lot:

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention belongs to the technical field of gravure printing. In particular, the present invention relates to a system for predicting doctor blade replacement time.
[0002]
[Prior art]
On the surface of the gravure printing cylinder (gravure cylinder), concave cells having a volume corresponding to the shade of the pattern are formed. As shown in FIG. 4, when printing is performed, first, ink is adhered to the surface of the plate cylinder, and excess ink is scraped off by a doctor blade. As a result, the amount of ink corresponding to the volume is filled in the concave portion of the cell. Next, the plate cylinder and the printing medium (printing paper, plastic film, etc.) are brought into close contact with each other, and the ink filled in the cells is transferred to the printing medium by applying printing pressure (see FIG. 5A). ).
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
When excess ink is scraped off by this doctor blade, the doctor blade is worn by friction between the surface of the plate cylinder and the doctor blade. As the wear progresses, the scraping ability of the doctor blade decreases. Then, the excess ink cannot be scraped off, and the ink is transferred, so that a so-called “fogging” defect occurs in the printed matter.
[0004]
As shown in FIG. 5A, the ink that cannot be scraped off is transferred to the substrate (web). The pattern formed on the printed material at that time is not a normal pattern but a pattern including fog as shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 5B, there is a corresponding relationship between the fogged portion and the wear at the blade edge of the doctor blade.
[0005]
The amount of wear of the doctor blade is affected by various conditions such as ink type, cell shape, doctor pressure, and the like. In addition, differences among printing presses and individual differences among operators are greatly affected. For this reason, in actual production, it is difficult to appropriately set the replacement time of the doctor blade. As a result, the doctor blade that has not reached the use limit may be discarded, or fogging may occur due to use exceeding the use limit.
[0006]
The present invention has been made to solve such problems, and an object thereof is to provide a system for predicting the replacement time of a doctor blade.

Next, the process of the doctor blade replacement time prediction system according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The process (flow) of the processing is shown on the left side of FIG. The flow is roughly divided into two. The flow I (first half) for receiving the printing plate image data to predict the life of the doctor blade and the flow II (second half) for receiving the printing image data of the next item and determining whether or not the doctor blade can be reused.
[0024]
First, the flow I will be described. In the first step S1 of FIG. 1, the
Next, in step S2, the

An explanatory diagram of an example of the calculation is shown in FIG. FIG. 2A shows an example of the plate image data, and FIG. 2B shows a frequency distribution graph (histogram). In FIG. 2A, the
[0026]
In FIG. 2 (B), the vertical axis of the graph represents a section (number of sections is m) in a dot area ratio of 0% to 10%, 11% to 20%, ..., 91% to 100%. The horizontal axis represents the area ratio (%) occupied by the area of the section in the predetermined area, that is, the pattern area ratio. FIG. 2B is a graph obtained for the region i to which the wear coefficient Ai is attached in FIG. As shown in FIG. 2B, in the region i, the area of the portion having a dot area ratio of 0 to 10% is β1 (%), and the area of the portion having a dot area ratio of 91 to 100% The area is βm (%). As shown in FIG. 2A, β1 + βm = 100 (%) because there is no portion having a halftone dot area ratio in the region i.
[0027]
An explanatory view of another example of the calculation in step S2 is shown in FIG. 3A shows another example of the plate image data, and FIG. 3B shows a frequency distribution graph (histogram). The plate image data and the form of the graph are the same as those in FIG. However, the printing plate image data shown in FIG. 3A has a gray scale in which the entire dot area ratio is gradually converted to 0 to 100%, and is also a gray scale in the region i.
[0028]
FIG. 3B is a graph obtained for the region i to which the wear coefficient Ai is attached in FIG. As shown in FIG. 3B, in the region i, the area of the portion having a dot area ratio of 0 to 10% is β1 (%), and the area having a dot area ratio of 91 to 100% The area is βm (%). And since the area | region i is a gray scale, the area of the part which has a halftone dot area ratio in the area between it has each value, as shown in FIG.3 (B). Also in this case, β1 + β2 +... + Βm = 100 (%).
[0029]
Next, in step S3, the
Here, the wear-related information includes the wear coefficient αp corresponding to the dot area ratio, the total area ratio βp in the plate cylinder circumferential direction of the predetermined dot area ratio, the wear coefficient γ depending on the material of the doctor and the plate surface, and the wear coefficient due to ink. η is the wear coefficient ξ due to machine conditions (doctor pressure, etc.).
[0030]
The wear coefficient calculating means calculates the wear coefficient Ai corresponding to each area obtained by dividing the image data of the plate cylinder, that is, the printing plate image data into n areas (i = 1 to n) of the width d in the plate cylinder axis direction. It is calculated by the following formula 7 (same as
[Expression 7]
[0031]
Next, a process for calculating the doctor blade replacement time will be described. The replacement time of the doctor blade can be basically determined by comparing the actual degree of progress of wear with an allowable limit as the degree of wear of the doctor blade. That is, the determination is made by comparing the doctor wear amount Wi with the wear allowable amount Wmax.
[0032]
First, a process for calculating the doctor wear amount Wi will be described. The doctor wear amount Wi is calculated by the doctor wear amount calculation means of the
[Equation 8]
[0033]
Next, a process for calculating (predicting) the doctor blade replacement time by comparing the doctor wear amount Wi with the wear allowable amount Wmax will be described. The doctor blade replacement time is calculated by the replacement time prediction means of the
[Equation 9]
[0034]
The replacement time predicting means predicts the replacement time of the doctor blade as the time when the actual production quantity L reaches the calculated production quantity Lmax. Specifically, the lot lengths Lot and Lmax of the items are compared, and the doctor blade is replaced according to the following cases (1) to (3). Further, the process proceeds to a process of determining whether or not the doctor blade can be reused (flow II) according to the case division.
[0035]
(1) Lmax <Lot: When production cannot be completed with a single doctor blade. The replacement time predicting means determines that “the doctor blade is replaced for each production quantity Lmax”. In addition, assuming that the number of doctor blades used until the completion of production is n, and Lmax> Lot− (n−1) * Lmax when the production of the item is completed, the doctor blade set in the printing machine at this time Does not reach the allowable wear amount Wmax. Therefore, the replacement time predicting means proceeds to the process of determining whether or not the doctor blade can be reused (flow II).
[0036]
(2) n * Lmax = Lot: When the doctor blade is used up and production can be finished. The replacement time predicting means determines that “the new item uses a new doctor blade”.
[0037]
(3) Lmax> Lot: When production can be completed with one doctor blade. The replacement time predicting means determines that “doctor blade replacement is unnecessary”. Further, the replacement time predicting means proceeds to a process of determining whether or not the doctor blade can be reused (flow II).
[0038]
The flow I (first half) for receiving the plate image data and predicting the life of the doctor blade has been described above. Next, the flow II (second half) for receiving the plate image data of the next item and determining whether or not the doctor blade can be reused will be described. In step S4 in FIG. 1, the replacement time predicting means of the
[0039]
As described above, the production quantity Lmax applies the representative value Aj of the wear coefficient that gives the maximum wear amount Wj (j = 1 to n), and the j-th doctor wear amount Wj reaches the allowable wear amount Wmax. It is the production quantity to be performed. That is, the production quantity Lmax is a basic parameter for predicting the replacement time of the doctor blade. Moreover, in step S4, the wear related information in the next item is naturally applied.
[0040]
Next, in step S5, the replacement time prediction means predicts the replacement time in the reuse of the next item of the doctor blade that has not been used and has not reached the replacement time. The replacement time prediction means collates the position of the pattern that is easily fogged of the next item with the doctor wear amount Wk at the position of the doctor blade corresponding to the position, and predicts the replacement time in the reuse of the doctor blade in the next item. .
[0041]
In other words, the replacement time predicting means applies the wear coefficient Ak if the position of the easily fogged pattern of the next item is the region k in the printing plate image data, and the kth doctor wear amount Wk becomes the allowable wear amount Wmax. Based on the production quantity that arrives, the replacement time for the reuse of the doctor blade in the next item is predicted. If the production quantity reaching the allowable wear amount Wmax is different between when the representative value Aj of the wear coefficient giving the maximum wear amount Wj is applied and when the wear coefficient Ak is applied, the replacement time predicting means is: The smaller production quantity is applied to the prediction.
[0042]
