Claims (9)
- 下向き光信号を出力する中央局と、上向き光信号を出力する多数の加入者と、前記中央局から出力された下向き光信号を強度分割して前記各加入者へ伝送し、前記各加入者から出力された上向き光信号を前記中央局に出力する前記中央局との局間を光ファイバで連結された地域局と、を含む受動型光加入者ネットワークにおいて、
前記中央局は、
前記光ファイバから入力された上向き光信号を等しい強さで複数の上向き光信号に分割し、また、入力される下向き光信号を前記光ファイバに出力する光強度分配器と、
前記分割後の上向き光信号を受信し、前記下向き光信号を前記光強度分配器に出力する複数の光通信器モジュールと、を備え、
前記各光通信器モジュールは、
半導体光増幅器及びこの半導体光増幅器から所定の間隔だけ離隔させた格子をもつ反射型光ファイバ格子を有し、前記半導体光増幅器と前記反射型光ファイバ格子との間で共振する所定波長の光を出力する光送信器と、
該当波長の光のみを透過させる透過型光ファイバ格子及びこの透過型光ファイバ格子を通過した光を検出するための光検出器を有する光受信器と、
を備え、
前記光通信器モジュールは、
前記光送信器からの下向き光信号を第2ポートを通じて前記光強度分配器に出力し、前記光強度分配器の第2ポートを通じて入力された上向き光信号を前記光受信器に出力する波長選択結合器をさらに有することを特徴とする波長分割多重方式の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。 - 光強度分配器は、
局間の光ファイバと連結された第1ポートを有する請求項1記載の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。 - 光強度分配器は、
光通信器モジュールと連結された複数の第2ポートを有する請求項2記載の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。 - 半導体光増幅器は、
光ファイバ格子を介して第2ポートに連結される請求項3記載の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。 - 光強度分配器は、
上向き光信号を強度分割して複数の第2ポートを通じて出力する請求項3記載の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。 - 地域局は、
局間の光ファイバに連結された光強度分配器を有する請求項5記載のシステム。 - 地域局の光強度分配器は、
局間の光ファイバと連結された一端の第1ポートと、他端に位置した複数の第2ポートと、を有する請求項5記載の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。 - 下向き光信号と上向き光信号の波長は相異なる波長帯域である請求項1記載の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。
- 前記各加入者は、
光を発生させる半導体光増幅器及びこの半導体光増幅器から所定の間隔だけ離隔させた格子をもつ反射型光ファイバ格子を有し、前記半導体光増幅器と前記反射型光ファイバ格子との間で共振する所定波長の上向き光信号を出力する光送信器と、
前記地域局で強度分割された下向き光信号中の該当波長の下向き光信号のみを透過させる光ファイバ格子及びこの光ファイバ格子を通過した光を検出するための光検出器を有する光受信器と、
を備え、
前記地域局は、
前記中央局間の光ファイバと連結された一端の第1ポートと、他端に位置した複数の第2ポートと、を有し、前記光ファイバから受信された下向き光信号を等しい強さで分割して前記第2ポートを通じ前記各加入者に出力し、前記加入者から前記第2ポートを通じ受信された上向き光信号を前記第1ポートを通じて前記中央局に出力する光強度分配器を備え、
前記加入者は、
前記光送信器から入力された上向き光信号を前記地域局に出力するとともに前記地域局から入力された下向き光信号は前記光受信器に分岐出力する波長選択結合器をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の波長分割多重方式の受動型光加入者ネットワークシステム。
