従来から家庭用合成洗剤等は市販されるに際し、その適量使用のため計量スプーンを附属させることが一般的に行なわれ、通常包装容器内にプラスチック製のスプーンが投入されていた。しかしながら最近では、日常的に使い捨てられる前記プラスチック製計量スプーンは廃棄面からも問題とされている。

前記のような問題に関しては、廃棄処理が容易な点で、これまでも各種の紙製計量スプーンが提案されている。例えば特開平10−19636号や特開2000−162016号公報記載の発明に示されるごとく、板紙を折り曲げて把持部と計量部とを形成した組立式計量スプーンで、いずれも把持片を中央部で折り曲げ固定し、かつ両把持片の前縁部に連設した計量板および一対の側板で形成される計量部分を有するものである。しかしながら、これらは計量部分と把持部分とがほぼ同一の平面状で形成されるため、通常の外装カートン内で計量操作を行う際には手指に洗剤が付着しやすく、また残量が少なくなった場合には外装カートン深くに手指を入れる必要があり、かつ洗剤をすくい取る操作が難しいという問題があった。
