Description
(a)前記ページ幅を実質的に横切って延びるチャネル要素であり、共働して細長いチャネルを画成する一対の対向する側壁および側壁が延びるベースを有する前記チャネル要素を用意するステップと、
(b)前記チャネル要素に沿った位置で、プリントヘッドモジュールが前記チャネル内に設置されるべき位置にて、前記チャネル要素の前記側壁を広げるように曲げる力を加えるステップと、
(c)前記位置にて前記プリントヘッドモジュールを前記チャネル内に配置するステップと、
(d)前記プリントヘッドモジュールが前記チャネル要素の壁によって保持されるように力を解放するステップと、
(e)前記アセンブリの全てのモジュールが前記チャネル内に設置されるまで、前記チャネルに沿って間隔を空けられた連続位置にて、上記ステップ(b)〜(d)を反復するステップと
を含む。
Claims (11)
- ページ幅ドロップオンデマンド・インクジェットプリンタのプリントヘッドアセンブリであって、
前記ページ幅を実質的に横切って延びるチャネル要素であり、細長いチャネルを画成する側壁と底壁とを有する前記チャネル要素と、
前記チャネル要素に固定されるプリントヘッドモジュールのアレイであり、当該プリントヘッドモジュールが前記ページ幅を実質的に横切って延びるように当該プリントヘッドモジュールのそれぞれの一部分が前記チャネル要素内に配置され、当該プリントヘッドモジュールのそれぞれの一部分は、前記チャネル要素の側壁により加えられる力によって、前記チャネル要素内に保持されている、前記プリントヘッドモジュールのアレイと
を備え、
前記チャネル要素は、金属製であり、前記プリントヘッドモジュールが主として形成される材料と実質的に等しい熱膨張係数を有しており、
各プリントヘッドモジュールが一側にエラストマーパッドを有し、前記チャネル要素内で前記プリントヘッドモジュールが滑動可能となるよう該エラストマーパッドが前記チャネル要素の側壁に接触するよう配置されている、プリントヘッドアセンブリ。 - 前記プリントヘッドモジュールが主として形成される材料がシリコンである、請求項1に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記チャネル要素が本質的にニッケル鉄合金からなる、請求項1に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記チャネル要素がニッケルでめっきされている、請求項3に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記チャネル要素が本質的に「インバール36(Invar36)」からなる、請求項1に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記チャネル要素が、選択された厚さの壁を有するU形チャネルであり、前記チャネル要素が、前記壁の厚さの0.056%でニッケルめっきされている、請求項1に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- エラストマーインク移送要素が、前記チャネル要素の底部と前記プリントヘッドモジュールとの間で前記チャネル要素に沿って延びている、請求項1に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- 各モジュール上のインク入口と前記エラストマーインク移送要素上に形成された出口孔との間にシールを形成するように、前記チャネル要素の側壁が前記プリントヘッドモジュールのそれぞれの一部分に力を加えている、請求項7に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記プリントヘッドモジュールが、互いに対して精密な整列関係で保持されている、請求項8に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- 前記チャネル要素は冷間圧延され、焼鈍され、ニッケルめっきされている、請求項1に記載のプリントヘッドアセンブリ。
- ページ幅ドロップオンデマンド・インクジェットプリンタのプリントヘッドアセンブリを組み立てる方法であって、
(a)前記ページ幅を実質的に横切って延びるチャネル要素であり、共働して細長いチャネルを画成する一対の対向する側壁および側壁が延びるベースを有する前記チャネル要素を用意するステップと、
(b)前記チャネル要素に沿った位置で、プリントヘッドモジュールが前記チャネル内に設置されるべき位置にて、前記チャネル要素の前記側壁を広げるように曲げる力を加えるステップと、
(c)前記位置にて前記プリントヘッドモジュールを前記チャネル内に配置するステップと、
(d)前記プリントヘッドモジュールが前記チャネル要素の前記側壁によって保持されるように前記曲げる力を解放するステップと、
(e)前記アセンブリの全てのモジュールが前記チャネル内に設置されるまで、前記チャネルに沿って間隔を空けられた連続位置にて、上記ステップ(b)〜(d)を反復するステップと
を含む方法。
