Abstract

The invention relates to a housing for holding a disc-shaped information carrier. The housing comprises a bottom section (1) having a holding device (7) and further comprises a cover section (3) which is hingeably connected to the bottom sections. The bottom section is box-shaped and has four transparent walls (1a, 1b, 1c). The bottom section contains an insert sheet (11) having four portions (11a, 11b, 11c) which extend adjacent the transparent walls and which may be provided with readable data relating to the information stored in the information carrier.

For this purpose, the housing according to the invention is characterized in that the side walls are transparent and the insert sheet has upright portions extending adjacent to these side walls.
As a result of these measures, it is possible for the housing according to the invention to contain information about an information disc which can be read on at least three sides of the housing, which are defined by the front wall and the two side walls of the bottom part.
