【0037】
ΔT=(ΔTc−ΔTa)

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for charging a non-aqueous secondary battery and a charging device therefor, and more particularly to a method for charging a non-aqueous secondary battery for charging a secondary battery such as a lithium ion secondary battery and a charging device therefor.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In recent years, electronic devices such as mobile phones, notebook computers, and digital cameras have become smaller and lighter, and with the spread of such devices, secondary batteries that can be repeatedly charged and discharged have been used as power sources for driving electronic devices. Opportunities have been increased. As such secondary batteries, for example, nickel cadmium (Ni—Cd) batteries, nickel metal hydride (Ni—MH) batteries, and lithium ion batteries are known.
[0003]
In particular, lithium-ion secondary batteries are different from other secondary batteries that produce electricity through an electrochemical reaction involving water using an aqueous electrolyte solution. For example, non-aqueous batteries that use an organic solvent such as a lithium salt for the electrolyte It is a secondary battery, and is configured to generate electricity by an oxidation-reduction reaction caused by movement of lithium ions. Such a non-aqueous secondary battery has the advantage that the voltage between the battery terminals in a single cell is higher than other secondary batteries, and has a high capacity and high output. A battery charging method for improving the performance of the battery itself and using the non-aqueous secondary battery more effectively has been studied.
[0004]
For example, in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2-192670, a non-aqueous secondary battery is charged at a constant voltage, and when this charging current becomes smaller than a set value, the charging current is cut off or only a slight charging current continues to flow. A charging device is disclosed. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-170669 discloses a charging circuit device that shifts the generation of a time signal for stopping the supply of charging current in response to an increase in the ambient temperature of the charging circuit device.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the discharge capacity (battery capacity) at the end of charging varies depending on the ambient temperature, remaining capacity, increase in cell temperature during charging, charging time, and the like. In the lithium ion secondary battery, for example, it is conditioned to charge at 5 to 35 degrees Celsius and to use (discharge) at 0 to 40 degrees Celsius. The nominal capacity value of the secondary battery is, for example, the capacity value when charging and discharging are performed at room temperature of 25 degrees. Further, the cycle life of the secondary battery is defined on the condition that it is used at this temperature. However, when charging / discharging at a lower temperature than that, the capacity of the battery becomes smaller than the nominal capacity value, and conversely, when charging / discharging is repeated at a high temperature, cycle life is shortened and the cycle life is shortened. There was a problem.
[0006]
Therefore, the simple charging method that only monitors the charging current does not take into account the difference in charging efficiency due to the temperature of the battery cell being charged or the ambient temperature of the battery cell, and the variation of the charging time with respect to the charging capacity. The charging capacity could not be secured. In addition, simply extending the charging time according to changes in the ambient temperature is considered effective for nickel metal hydride batteries, but optimal charging capacity for lithium ion secondary batteries. There is a problem that is not always obtained. In this case, for example, if the ambient temperature during charging is high, the charging time is unnecessarily long and the battery is overcharged, which causes a problem that cycle deterioration occurs in the secondary battery.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to provide a method for charging a non-aqueous secondary battery and a charging device for the same that can eliminate the drawbacks of the conventional technology and ensure an optimum charging capacity under the charging environment.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention provides a non-aqueous secondary battery charging method for charging a non-aqueous secondary battery, wherein the method detects the temperature of the secondary battery and the ambient temperature at the start of charging. , Detects the temperature and ambient temperature of the secondary battery being charged, detects the charging current during charging, changes in the temperature and ambient temperature of the secondary battery during charging and charging, and changes in the charging current The charging process for the secondary battery is controlled according to the above.
[0009]
In this case, this method calculates the difference between the temperature of the secondary battery at the start of charging and the temperature at the time of charging, recognizes the temperature change of the secondary battery during charging, and determines the ambient temperature at the start of charging and the temperature during charging. Calculate the difference from the ambient temperature, recognize the change in ambient temperature during charging, calculate the difference between the temperature change of the secondary battery during charging and the change in ambient temperature, and set the calculation result in advance The charging process may be controlled when it is smaller than the predetermined value as compared with the value.
[0010]
Further, this method is a case where the difference between the temperature change of the secondary battery being charged and the change in the ambient temperature is smaller than a preset value, and the charge current value currently being charged is constant current charging. The charging process may be controlled when the charging current is smaller than the set value.
[0011]
This method also counts the charging time for the secondary battery and terminates charging when the predetermined charging time is reached. When controlling the charging process for the secondary battery, the counting time is reset and the charging time is set. It is good to control.
[0012]
In this case, the method is such that the difference between the change in the temperature of the secondary battery being charged and the change in the ambient temperature is smaller than a preset value, and the charge current value currently being charged is the charge current setting for constant current charging. When the value is smaller than the value, the counting time may be reset so as to be longer than the current counting time.
[0013]
In addition, the difference between the change in the temperature of the secondary battery during charging and the change in the ambient temperature is smaller than a preset value, and the charging current value during the current charging is the setting of the charging current in constant current charging. When the value is smaller than the value, the counting time may be reset so as to be shorter than the current counting time.
[0014]
In this method, the secondary battery is charged by constant current charging at which the maximum charging voltage is determined at the beginning of charging, and when the secondary battery cell temperature reaches the maximum value, switching to constant voltage charging is performed. Good.
[0015]
Further, in order to solve the above-described problems, the present invention provides a non-aqueous secondary battery charging device for charging a non-aqueous secondary battery, wherein the device is a voltage for charging the secondary battery with a constant voltage and a constant current. Charging means for generating current, a charging switch for turning on or off the output of the charging means to supply to the battery terminal of the secondary battery, and terminal voltage detection means for detecting the open battery terminal voltage of the secondary battery; A current detecting means for detecting a charging current supplied from the charging means, a cell temperature detecting means for detecting the temperature of the cell of the secondary battery, an ambient temperature detecting means for measuring the ambient temperature of the charging device, and a charging switch And a control means for controlling the charging process for the secondary battery by generating a charge control signal for controlling on / off, and the control means is an open terminal voltage of the secondary battery detected by the terminal voltage detection means, And charge A detecting means for monitoring the output of the means and detecting the temperature of the cell and the ambient temperature; and a charging timer means for subtracting a charging time for the secondary battery from a predetermined set time; a charging current for the secondary battery; The charging process is controlled by resetting the counting time of the charging timer means based on the open battery terminal voltage of the secondary battery and the difference between the cell temperature and the ambient temperature.
[0016]
In this case, the control means calculates the difference between the temperature of the secondary battery at the start of charging and the temperature during charging, recognizes the temperature change of the secondary battery during charging, and determines the ambient temperature at the start of charging and during charging. To calculate the difference between the ambient temperature during charging, recognize the change in ambient temperature during charging, calculate the difference between the temperature change of the secondary battery during charging and the ambient temperature change, and preset this calculation result The charging process may be controlled when compared with the determined predetermined value and smaller than the predetermined value.
[0017]
In this case, the control means is a case where the difference between the temperature change of the secondary battery being charged and the change in the ambient temperature is smaller than a predetermined value, and the charge current value currently being charged is the charge current in the constant current charge. When the value is smaller than the set value, the charging process may be controlled.
[0018]
In this case, the secondary battery may be a lithium ion secondary battery.
[0019]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention stores a chargeable / dischargeable secondary battery and supplies power by being attached to a desired electronic device. The battery pack is a cell of a secondary battery. A detection terminal for detecting the temperature is included, and the secondary battery has a detection element for detecting the cell temperature of the secondary battery in close contact with the secondary battery, and at least one lead of the detection element is the detection terminal. It is characterized by being connected to.
[0020]
In this case, the battery pack may contain a plurality of secondary batteries, and the detection element may be disposed in close contact with at least two secondary batteries.
[0021]

Next, the routine proceeds to step 804, where it is determined whether or not the cell temperature has shifted from the maximum value, and when the cell temperature has fallen from the maximum value, the routine proceeds to step 806 and counting of the charging timer time starts. Proceed to step 808. In this case, if the charging timer is already counting, the counting is continued and is not restarted. Each procedure has been described above. In the present embodiment, in particular, after the cell temperature reaches a peak, the constant current charging is shifted to the constant voltage charging process, and at this time, the counting of the charging
[0066]
For example, during constant voltage charging, the charging time can be shortened if the ambient temperature rises, and even if the ambient temperature is constant, the charging time can be shortened as the cell temperature rises. The charging time can be extended according to the descent, and the optimum charging capacity can be ensured. When extending the charging time, if the maximum charging time of the secondary battery is specified, the charging time is extended within that range.
[0067]
In this way, from the charging temperature characteristics of the non-aqueous secondary battery, when constant current and constant voltage are applied, the cell temperature becomes maximum at the transition from the constant current region to the constant voltage region, and the cell decreases as the charging current decreases in the constant voltage charging region. The temperature also falls. Then, when the difference between the cell temperature and the ambient temperature becomes smaller than the set value, the charging is controlled so as to reset the charging timer time or cut off the charging current. Therefore, since charging is controlled while comparing the difference between the actual ambient temperature, the cell temperature, and the ambient temperature, the optimum charge capacity of the non-aqueous secondary battery can be obtained at the ambient temperature. As a result, for example, overcharging when the ambient temperature rises can be prevented, so that the deterioration of the battery cell can be protected, and occurrence of insufficient charging when the ambient temperature falls can be prevented. Therefore, it is possible to provide a charger that can prevent cycle deterioration as much as possible and appropriately charge the battery pack.
[0068]
Further, since the temperature of the battery pack can be detected during charging, for example, when an abnormality occurs inside the cell and the cell becomes high temperature, this temperature increase is detected and the charging process can be stopped immediately.
[0069]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, the temperature and ambient temperature of the secondary battery at the start of charging, the temperature and ambient temperature of the secondary battery during charging, and the charging current during charging are detected, respectively, and charging is started. Depending on the time, the temperature of the secondary battery during charging, the change in ambient temperature, and the change in charging current, the charging process for the secondary battery can be extended or shortened from the initial setting to optimize the charging process. Further, it is possible to prevent damage to the secondary battery such as overcharging. As a result, the secondary battery can be optimally charged and the cycle life of the secondary battery can be appropriately maintained.

The control means includes
A detecting means for monitoring an open battery terminal voltage of the secondary battery detected by the terminal voltage detecting means and an output of the charging means, and detecting the temperature of the cell and the ambient temperature;
Charging timer means for subtracting a charging time from the start of constant voltage charging to a predetermined set time to the secondary battery,
Calculate the temperature difference of the secondary battery during charging by calculating the difference between the temperature of the secondary battery at the start of charging and the temperature during charging,
By calculating the difference between the ambient temperature during charging and the ambient temperature at the start of charging, it calculates a change in the ambient temperature in the charge,
Calculate the difference between the change in temperature of the secondary battery during charging and the change in ambient temperature,
During constant voltage charging, the difference between the change in temperature of the secondary battery during charging and the change in ambient temperature is smaller than the preset value, and the charging current value during current charging is the charging current in constant current charging. A charging device for a non-aqueous secondary battery, wherein the charging process is controlled by resetting the current counting time when the set value is smaller than the set value .
