【発明の属する技術分野】
本発明は、航空券予約及び映像コンテンツ配信技術に属し、航空機の乗客向けビデオ・オン・デマンド・サービス提供システムに関する。

【従来の技術】
従来の航空機の乗客向けの映像サービスは、放送型のサービスが提供されている。図12は従来のビジネスのサービス形態を示す流れの説明図で、乗客(ユーザ)に映像サービスが無料で提供されている。すなわち、図12に示すようなビジネス形態で、従来、航空会社が乗客に無料で飛行中に映像ソフトを提供しており、次の様なビジネスの流れである。
(1)ユーザ31は、航空会社32に航空券を予約し、航空会社32に航空券料金を支払い、航空券を入手する。
(2)航空会社32は、コンテンツ配給会社33にコンテンツ使用料を支払う。
(3)航空会社32は、コンテンツ配給会社33からコンテンツ配信を受ける。
(4)ユーザ31は、航空会社32が指定した映画鑑賞の無料サービスの提供を受ける。

以上の従来のサービスでは、すでに観てしまった作品を飛行機の機内で上映される場合には、その様な乗客が迷惑なサービスと感じてしまい、乗客の全員にとって充分満足されるサービスとは言い難い。

なお、全乗客(ユーザ)の希望に答えるには、機内に確保できるスペースは限られ、格納出来る映像ソフトの数に限りがある。また映像配給会社(コンテンツ配給会社)への費用も、映像ソフト数につれ増加する。また、封切り中の映画を全て無料で提供しようとするとその費用負担が大幅に嵩み実現が困難である。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
現在、乗客向けに映画やビデオが機内上映されているが、映画タイトルが1又は2種類程度で、コンテンツ数が限定されており、ユーザの希望する映画やビデオのタイトルを事前に確認して、ユーザ個々の希望する時にユーザ各自の席で上映するサービスを実現することが課題である。

本発明は上記の事情に鑑みてなされたもので、映画鑑賞の無料サービスに加え、魅力ある作品を有料で提供したり、搭乗クラス別に、無料で提供出来る作品の範囲や無料提供できる作品数のサービス内容を変え、ユーザの要求に合ったサービスの提供を可能とし、乗客に快適な時間を過ごせる様にして、その事を実施する事により、新ビジネスの展開が開ける航空機の乗客向けビデオ・オン・デマンド・サービス提供システムを提供することを目的とする。

上記目的を達成するために本発明の航空機の乗客向けビデオ・オン・デマンド・サービス提供システムは、ユーザ端末より航空機の座席の予約と同時に、搭乗中に観たい映像ソフト・コンテンツの予約を受ける予約センタの予約サーバと、予約センタの予約サーバから航空券予約情報とコンテンツ予約情報に基づき、コンテンツ予約映像ソフトの配信が要求されるコンテンツ配信センタのコンテンツサーバと、コンテンツ配信センタのコンテンツサーバよりコンテンツ予約映像ソフトが配信される予約センタのコンテンツサーバと、予約センタのコンテンツサーバから空港配信網の空港キャッシュサーバを経由して、ユーザ名/ユーザID/ユーザパスワード/搭乗クラス/搭乗日時/搭乗便コード/座席番号/予約映像ソフト・コンテンツ・コード/座席IPアドレス/日時のユーザの予約データの属性データの全部又は一部と共にコンテンツ予約映像ソフトが蓄積される航空機内の管理サーバ機能及びコンテンツサーバ機能を有した機内キャッシュサーバと、ユーザが入力したユーザIDとパスワードを受信し、前記ユーザIDとパスワードを使用して管理サーバ機能及びコンテンツサーバ機能を有した機内キャッシュサーバにアクセスして、予約したコンテンツを受信する航空機の座席端末と、を備えたことを特徴とするものである。

(b)空港無線配信網方式
空港無線配信網方式は、空港無線配信網10bと航空機の機内の機内キャッシュサーバ12を無線LANで結んで、空港無線配信網10b内の無線LAN端末(空港親機)19を経由して無線LAN端末(空港子機)20につながる機内キャッシュサーバ12に配信する無線配信方式である。
(4)航空機内の機内配信網16
機内配信網16は、空港キャッシュサーバ11に、複数のスイッチングハブ13を経由して各座席の複数の座席端末15が接続され、或いは無線LAN端末(機内)14を介して単独に座席端末15が接続され、或いはスイッチングハブ13を経由して座席端末15が接続され、コンテンツ配信を受ける方式であり、機内配信網16には、有線配信網16aでLAN配信されている有線配信網方式と、無線配信網16bで一部又は全部がLAN配信されている無線配信網方式がある。

機内無線配信網16bは、空港キャッシュサーバ11に、無線LAN端末(機内)14により単独に座席端末15が接続され、或いはスイッチングハブ13を経由して座席端末15がスイッチング分配され配信されている。

航空会社に対する効果: 他の交通機関と比較して長距離の移動の為に多くの時間を費やす必要が要求される航空機関において、ユーザを退屈させることなく快適な移動時間を提供できる、本サービスにより顧客確保とサービスの差別化の面で大きな効果が期待できる。ユーザの要求した映画などの映像コンテンツのみをキャッシュサーバに配送するので、コンテンツ配送の無駄も省け、コンテンツを格納するキャッシュサーバなどのハードディスクなどのメモリ機器の節約につながる。
コンテンツ配信会社に対する効果: 航空会社を対象にしたコンテンツ配信ビジネスが新たなビジネスの展開として期待できる。
