【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electrophotographic photosensitive member and an image forming apparatus including the same.
[0002]
[Prior art]
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus such as a copying machine, a printer, and a facsimile machine forms an image through the following electrophotographic process. First, the surface of an electrophotographic photosensitive member (hereinafter, also simply referred to as “photosensitive member”) provided in the apparatus is uniformly charged to a predetermined potential by a charger, exposed according to image information, and an electrostatic latent image is formed. Form. A developer containing toner or the like is supplied from a developing device to the formed electrostatic latent image to form a toner image. The formed toner image is transferred onto a recording medium such as recording paper by a transfer unit and fixed by a fixing device. The photoconductor after the transfer operation by the transfer means is cleaned by a cleaner. As a result, the toner remaining on the surface of the photoreceptor without being transferred to the recording medium is removed.

The toner remaining and deposited on the surface of the photosensitive member is pressed against the surface of the photosensitive member by the
[0008]
Thus, when the surface layer of the photoconductor is worn and the amount of film reduction increases, the density of the obtained image decreases, and the electrostatic latent image formed in the first rotation of the photoconductor drum is the drum after the static elimination operation. There arises a problem that a phenomenon called a positive memory is generated which is held without being erased from the top and is developed by being superimposed on the electrostatic latent image formed in the second rotation. Therefore, the surface layer of the photoreceptor is required to have high printing durability and high wear resistance.
[0009]
In recent years, as an electrophotographic photoreceptor, a function-separated type organic photoreceptor in which a charge generation function and a charge transport function are respectively assigned to different organic substances has become mainstream. The photosensitive layer of this organic photoreceptor has a laminated structure of a charge generation layer containing a charge generation material responsible for a charge generation function and a charge transport layer containing a charge transport material responsible for a charge transport function. Usually, the charge transport layer which is the surface layer of the photoreceptor is formed in a form in which the charge transport material is dispersed in the binder resin, so that the printing durability and wear resistance of the surface layer are improved, and In order to improve durability, it is conceivable to increase the ratio of the binder resin in the charge transport layer. However, when the ratio of the binder resin in the charge transport layer is increased, as a result, the ratio of the charge transport material in the charge transport layer is decreased, so that the charge transport characteristics of the charge transport layer are decreased, and the photoresponsiveness is decreased. There arises a problem such as an increase in characteristic change accompanying a change in temperature. These problems are caused by the low charge transport capability of the charge transport material. Accordingly, the charge transport material is required to have a particularly high charge transport capability.

It is possible to realize an image forming apparatus that is small and requires a small space for installation. In such a small image forming apparatus, since each member is closely arranged, heat generated in the image forming process is likely to be trapped in the image forming apparatus, and the electrophotographic photosensitive member is used in a wide temperature range. However, as described above, the image forming apparatus of the present invention has high sensitivity, sufficient photoresponsiveness, and can maintain stable characteristics over a wide temperature range. Since the photoconductor is provided, a high-quality image can be stably provided.
[0028]
Further, in the image forming apparatus in which the electrophotographic photosensitive member and the cleaning unit are arranged as described above, the toner remaining on the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member after the transfer operation by the transfer unit may spontaneously fall over its repose angle. In order to sufficiently remove the remaining toner and the toner film formed by the filming phenomenon from the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member, the contact pressure of the cleaning member against the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member is increased. It is necessary to. On the other hand, when the contact pressure of the cleaning member to the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member is increased, the amount of film loss of the photosensitive layer, which is the surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member, may increase, and the quality of the obtained image may deteriorate. However, since the electrophotographic photosensitive member of the present invention provided in the image forming apparatus of the present invention is excellent in printing durability and abrasion resistance as described above, the contact pressure of the cleaning member against the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member is reduced. Even if it is increased, the amount of film loss of the photosensitive layer is small. Accordingly, the contact pressure of the cleaning member against the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member can be increased without increasing the film reduction amount of the photosensitive layer, and deterioration in image quality due to poor cleaning can be prevented. Can improve the reliability of the image forming apparatus arranged as described above.

Specific examples of the solvent to be used include toluene, xylene, chlorobenzene, butanol and diethylene glycol dimethyl ether. A catalyst, for example, an acid catalyst such as p-toluenesulfonic acid, camphorsulfonic acid or pyridinium-p-toluenesulfonic acid, is added to the prepared solution and reacted under heating. The addition amount of the catalyst is preferably 1/10 (1/10) to 1/1000 (1/1000) molar equivalent to the aldehyde compound or ketone compound represented by the general formula (3). More preferably, it is 1/25 (1/25) to 1/500 (1/500) molar equivalent, and 1/50 (1/50) to 1/200 (1/200) molar equivalent is Is optimal. During the reaction, water is by-produced and hinders the reaction, so the water produced is azeotroped with the solvent and removed from the system. Accordingly, among the enamine-carbonyl intermediates represented by the general formula (6), R5An enamine-aldehyde intermediate in which is a hydrogen atom can be produced in high yield.
[0099]
Moreover, Friedel-Craft reaction is performed as follows, for example. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a highly reliable image forming apparatus that can stably provide a high-quality image over a long period under various environments.
[0275]
Further, according to the present invention, the electrophotographic photosensitive member and the cleaning means are opposite to the direction of gravity starting from the intersection of the line axis of the straight lines that intersect the rotational axis of the electrophotographic photosensitive member and are parallel to the gravity direction. An angle formed between a half line extending in the direction and a line segment included in a plane including the half line and connecting the rotation axis and the contact portion of the cleaning member with the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member. In a small-sized image forming apparatus that is disposed within 30 ° and requires a small space for installation, it is possible to stably provide a high-quality image and without increasing the amount of film loss of the photosensitive layer. The contact pressure of the cleaning member against the surface of the electrophotographic photosensitive member can be increased to prevent deterioration in image quality due to poor cleaning, and the reliability of the image forming apparatus can be improved.
