スピーカ用ターミナルは音声信号増幅器とスピーカのボイスコイル間の接続の中継用としてスピーカのフレームに固定されているが、近年、音声信号増幅器からの接続用端子はコネクターとなっていることから、このコネクターと合致するコネクター形状となっており、ボイスコイルと接続される端部は先端部に穴等を設け、そこにボイスコイルの端末に接続された錦糸線等のフレキシブルワイヤーを挿入半田付けして固定する構造が用いられていた。
