BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a sliding tripod type constant velocity universal joint used for power transmission in automobiles, industrial machines and the like.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As shown in the left half of FIG. 6, the tripod type constant velocity universal joint includes an
[0003]
In the conventional tripod type constant velocity universal joint, the clearance (radial clearance, circumferential clearance) between the
[0004]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
It has been found that the NVH characteristics of the tripod type constant velocity universal joint change depending on the angle at which the needle roller can actually skew. The skew angle is determined from the radial clearance and the circumferential clearance, but this has not been taken into consideration conventionally. For this reason, the NVH characteristics are different depending on the proportion and size of the tripod type constant velocity universal joint, and the current situation is that optimization has not been achieved.
[0005]
An object of the present invention is to reduce the vibration of the tripod type constant velocity universal joint by suppressing the skew of the needle rollers.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The angle at which needle rollers can actually skew, that is, the degree of freedom of the skew angle, is limited by the diameter clearance (radial clearance) and the clearance between rollers in the pitch circle (circumferential clearance). The smaller one is dominant. In the case of the skew caused by the clearance in the circumferential direction, the skew can occur until the rollers come into contact with each other. Therefore, the skew angle θ1 at this time is expressed by Equation 1.
[0007]
[Expression 1]
[0008]
Here, D is the inner diameter of the roller, d is the roller diameter, and Z is the number of rollers.
[0009]
Further, in the case of skew due to the radial clearance, the skew can be skewed until both end portions of the roller are in contact with the inner diameter of the roller.
[0010]
[Expression 2]
[0011]
Here, gr is the radial clearance, and l is the effective length of the roller.
[0012]
Each of these skew angles θ1 and θ2 is obtained, and the smaller one is the skew angle that can actually occur (reference: Nobunori Hamada, “Bearing” published by Iwanami Shoten).
[0013]
When the radial clearance is set so that the relationship between the skew angles θ1 and θ2 is θ1> θ2 and the skew angle θ2 is 4.0 ° to 4.5 °, the tripod type constant velocity universal joint is It was found that the vibration force showed the minimum value. By taking this into consideration, it is possible to optimize the vibration reduction of the tripod type constant velocity universal joint.
[0014]
According to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided an outer joint member in which a track groove extending in the axial direction is formed at a circumferentially equally-divided position of the inner periphery, a trunnion body portion that is fitted to the shaft so as to be able to transmit torque, and the trunnion body A tripod member comprising a trunnion journal projecting radially from a circumferentially divided position, and a roller that is rotatably attached to each trunnion journal via a plurality of needle rollers and accommodated in the track groove In a tripod type constant velocity universal joint in which the roller is guided by roller guide surfaces formed on both side walls of the track groove on the outer peripheral surface thereof, a needle roller that can be generated by a circumferential clearance The skew angle (θ1) of the needle roller may be caused by a radial clearance in the annular space between the roller and the trunnion journal. Greater than over angle (.theta.2), wherein among the needle roller skew angle, needle roller skew generated by the radial clearance of the needle rollers in the annular space between the roller and the trunnion journal A tripod type constant velocity universal joint having an angle (θ2) in the range of 4.0 ° to 4.5 ° .
[0015]
Skew angle (.theta.2) is based on the
[0016]
Specifically, the preferable range of the skew angle (θ2) is 4 . It is 0 degree-4.5 degree . This is because it has been found that the thrust force is minimized when the skew angle (θ2) is in the range of 4.0 ° to 4.5 °. When the skew angle (θ2) exceeds 4.5 °, the thrust force increases and saturates at a certain level. Conversely, when the skew angle (θ2) becomes smaller than 4.0 °, the thrust force tends to increase.
[0017]
As above described, since it is the skew angle that can occur either smaller actually among the circumferential skew angle may be caused by direction gap (.theta.1) and skew angle may be caused by the radial clearance (.theta.2), the latter skew By keeping the angle (θ2) small, only the skew angle (θ2) is restricted, so that it is possible to take a countermeasure against the skew of the needle rollers.
[0018]
According to a second aspect of the invention, the tripod type constant velocity universal joint according to claim 1, the contact ratio between the roller and the roller guide surface and from 1.02 to 1.2, when a predetermined torque load, the roller The width dimension of the roller is reduced to such an extent that the contact ellipse generated in the above does not deviate from the end face of the roller. If the contact ratio is small, the contact ellipse becomes larger when the torque is applied and exceeds the width of the roller, resulting in a short life. Conversely, if the contact ratio is large, the contact ellipse becomes smaller, but the contact pressure increases and the contact portion increases. This is because the wear is accelerated and the life is shortened.
[0019]
Further, by reducing the width of the roller, the outer joint member, and thus the tripod type constant velocity universal joint as a whole can be made compact. Specifically, as in the invention of claim 3 , the ratio (Ls / do ) of the roller width (Ls) to the outer diameter (do) is preferably 0.24 to 0.27. The smaller this ratio (Ls / do ), the smaller the width Ls relative to the outer diameter do of the roller, and the greater the degree of contribution to compactness. However, if the ratio is too small, the surface pressure increases and the strength and durability decrease. Therefore, the lower limit is determined from this aspect.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
An embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.

FIG. 5 is a plot of thrust force measurement data with the vertical axis representing the induced thrust force of the tripod type constant velocity universal joint and the horizontal axis representing the calculated skew angle θ2 (deg). From the figure, it can be seen that the thrust force shows the minimum value when the skew angle θ2 is in the range of 4.0 ° to 4.5 °. When the skew angle θ2 exceeds 4.5 °, the thrust force increases and saturates at a certain level. Further, when the skew angle θ2 is smaller than 4.0, the thrust force tends to increase. Therefore, regarding the skew of the

【The invention's effect】
As described above, the outer joint member in which the track groove extending in the axial direction is formed at the three circumferential positions on the inner circumference, the trunnion body that is fitted to the shaft so that torque can be transmitted, and the circle of the trunnion body A tripod member comprising a trunnion journal projecting radially from a circumferentially divided position, a roller rotatably attached to each trunnion journal via a plurality of needle rollers, and housed in the track groove In a tripod type constant velocity universal joint in which the roller is guided by roller guide surfaces formed on both side walls of the track groove on its outer peripheral surface, needle rollers that can be generated by a circumferential clearance. The skew angle of the needle roller that can be generated by the radial clearance in the annular space between the roller and the trunnion journal is determined by the skew angle (θ1). By having greater than-menu angle (.theta.2), only the latter (.theta.2) of the skew angle of the needle rollers by restricted within a predetermined standard value, with low vibration of the tripod type constant velocity universal joint It becomes.
[0031]
That is, since a skew angle that can occur either smaller actually among the circumferential skew angle may be caused by direction gap (.theta.1) and skew angle may be caused by the radial clearance (.theta.2), caused by a circle circumferential direction gap By making the needle roller skew angle (θ1) larger than the needle roller skew angle (θ2) that can be generated by the radial clearance in the annular space between the roller and the trunnion journal ( θ1> θ2), the skew angle (θ2 of the latter) only can skew measures of needle roller by regulating.
