[Technical field to which the invention belongs]
The present invention relates to a magnetic resonance imaging (hereinafter referred to as MRI) apparatus, and more particularly to an MRI apparatus having a function of measuring magnetic field characteristics of an examination space with high accuracy.
[0002]
[Prior art]
MRI examination methods for obtaining tomographic images of the human body using the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) phenomenon are widely used in medical institutions. Since this MRI examination method needs to accurately reflect the internal structure of the examination part of the subject, a magnet that generates a uniform magnetic field strength in the space where the examination part is arranged is required. For this reason, many of the MRI apparatuses used a slender cylindrical solenoid coil, but in recent years, as a means of removing the feeling of pressure on the subject and enabling treatment during the examination (MR interventional procedure) An open-type MRI apparatus that opens the front of the magnet is in widespread use.
[0003]
Such open-type MRI devices have been developed using permanent magnets and normal conducting coils, but in order to realize high-speed real-time imaging in MR interventional procedures, a magnetic field incorporating a superconducting coil is used. Development of circuits is underway (Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 10-179546, 11-155831, 11-197132, etc.).
[0004]
With an open magnetic circuit incorporating a superconducting coil, it has become possible to achieve a magnetic field strength of about 1.0 Tesla, which is a magnetic field strength several times that of an open magnetic circuit using a permanent magnet or a normal conducting coil. There was a problem that the conventional solenoidal superconducting magnet did not have, that the mechanical vibration of the cryo with the superconducting coil influences the stability of the generated magnetic field strength. In other words, in an open magnetic circuit, superconducting coils are housed in two divided cryos and placed one above the other. However, there are differences in the internal structure and mounting structure of these cryos, and the differences in the accessories attached to the cryos. Thus, a difference occurs in the vibration of the upper and lower cryos, and the magnetic field characteristics change due to the difference in the vibration. There are two types of cryo-vibration sources: vibrations from the building where the magnets are installed and vibrations generated by equipment such as a helium refrigerator, such as a helium refrigerator.
[0005]
The fluctuation of the magnetic field (the rate of change of the magnetic field) caused by such cryo-vibration is a slight change in the order of ppm (10 to the sixth power), but the signal converted to the detected low frequency region is in the order of%. It becomes a ratio and causes a decrease in image S / N and blurring of the image. In particular, when the vibration is a regular vibration, the NMR signal is modulated with the signal vibration frequency f, and when this is converted into an image or spectrum, f, 2f, 3f,. A pseudo image appears at the shifted position of f, and f, 2f, 3f,..., Pseudo peaks appear as sidebands on both sides of the original spectrum.
[0006]
As a method for preventing magnetic field fluctuation due to vibration of the helium refrigerator, it has been proposed to insert a mechanical flexible structural material (bellows) so that the vibration of the helium refrigerator is not transmitted into the cryo (US Patent Publication). 5,363,077). Also, at the time of shipment and maintenance inspection of the device, the connecting portion between the helium refrigerator and the cryo is adjusted to eliminate vibration.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, as already mentioned, magnetic field fluctuations caused by cryo vibrations are insignificant changes in the order of ppm or less, so conventional MRI devices detect magnetic field fluctuations with high accuracy prior to inspection. I could not. For example, a Teslameter is known to measure the magnetic field in an MRI apparatus, and its resolution is about 0.1 ppm, but the amount of change in the magnetic field after adjustment by a bellows or the like is a faint value of about 0.03 ppm. Therefore, measurement is impossible with a Tesla meter. In general, there are Hall elements and coil elements that detect the amount of change in the magnetic field. Even if such an element is used to measure such a weak amount of change in the magnetic field, the voltage induced in the sensor in response to the change in the magnetic field. Since the thermal noise (several tens of microvolts) due to the heat scattering charge in the sensor is larger than (several microvolts), it cannot be detected. In view of this, the current situation is that it is symptomatically treated by tightening the fixing screw of the helium refrigerator while observing the image and spectrum of the test result.
[0008]
The present invention has been made in view of the above viewpoint, and provides an MRI apparatus that can measure a vibration component of a magnetic field with high accuracy, and thereby can appropriately take measures against a magnetic field change caused by vibration. An object of the present invention is to provide an MRI apparatus that can prevent the change in the magnetic field due to vibration of the MRI apparatus and improve the reliability of the obtained test result.
[0009]
Another object of the present invention is that not only when installing an MRI apparatus, but also during periodic maintenance and inspection work, it is possible to easily and accurately measure magnetic field changes due to vibration, including changes over time, thereby preventing changes over time. Is to provide an MRI system that can take appropriate measures.
[0010]
To achieve the above object, the present invention MRI A method of reducing magnetic field fluctuations in an apparatus includes: a magnetic field generation source that generates a static magnetic field; and a magnetic field in a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus that includes a vibration source that varies the static magnetic field by causing mechanical vibrations to the static magnetic field generation source. A method for reducing fluctuations, which reduces magnetic field fluctuations in a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus that repeats a step of measuring fluctuations of the static magnetic field and a step of adjusting the vibration source so as to reduce fluctuations of the static magnetic field In the method, the step of measuring the fluctuation of the static magnetic field reduces the magnetic field fluctuation by measuring the static magnetic field fluctuation based on a phase fluctuation of a nuclear magnetic resonance signal detected from a sample placed at a desired position. Let
In particular,The step of measuring the nuclear magnetic resonance includes irradiating the sample with a high-frequency magnetic field having the same frequency as the high-frequency magnetic field used for examining the subject, thereby repeatedly detecting a nuclear magnetic resonance signal generated from the sample, The step of measuring the time series data of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal by repetition and obtaining the static magnetic field fluctuation is obtained by obtaining the phase fluctuation from the time series data of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal, and the phase fluctuation is arranged on the sample. Having a step of displaying as a magnetic field variation in position. In addition, when the static magnetic field generation source has a superconducting magnet that houses a superconducting coil therein, and the vibration source is a helium refrigerator for cooling the superconducting coil, The adjusting step performs at least one of drive adjustment or fixed adjustment of the helium refrigerator.
Further, the MRI apparatus of the present invention that achieves the above object includes a magnetic field generating means for maintaining an examination space in which a subject is placed at a constant magnetic field strength, a gradient magnetic field generating means for giving a gradient to the magnetic field strength, and the examination space. In an MRI apparatus comprising means for applying a high-frequency magnetic field to an object placed on the object, and means for processing a nuclear magnetic resonance signal generated from the object and displaying the result, an arbitrary position in the examination space Means for applying a high-frequency magnetic field having the same frequency as the high-frequency magnetic field used for the inspection to the installed sample; means for detecting a nuclear magnetic resonance signal generated from the sample; and determining a phase fluctuation of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal; and the phase fluctuation To obtain a magnetic field fluctuation at the arbitrary location.
[0011]
In the MRI apparatus of the present invention, in the above-described MRI apparatus, the means for applying a high-frequency magnetic field to the sample includes a means for moving the sample in the examination space, a probe disposed around the sample, and a probe attached to the subject. And means for connecting to means for applying a high-frequency magnetic field.
[0012]
The method for measuring magnetic field fluctuations in the MRI apparatus of the present invention includes a sample that generates a nuclear magnetic resonance signal by a high-frequency magnetic field having the same frequency as the high-frequency magnetic field used for examination of a subject at a desired position in an examination space, The step of irradiating a high-frequency magnetic field of the frequency and detecting a nuclear magnetic resonance signal generated from the sample is repeated, and from the time-series data of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal obtained by the repetition, the phase of the nuclear magnetic resonance signal is obtained. A variation is obtained, and the phase variation is displayed as a magnetic field variation at the position where the sample is arranged.
[0013]
According to the present invention, the relationship between the static magnetic field strength (Ho) at the time of MRI examination and the reference signal (ω ′) for detecting the NMR signal is the static magnetic field strength (Ho) at the time of adjusting the MRI apparatus and the NMR signal. It can be matched with the relation of the reference signal (ω ′) to be detected. This makes it possible to accurately detect a slight change in static magnetic field intensity as a phase change. Using this measurement data or while viewing the displayed measurement result, the accuracy of adjustment of the magnet and the helium refrigerator can be increased, and the magnetic field fluctuation can be made almost zero. Further, by using the data at the time of initial adjustment, an actual inspection result can be corrected, a false image can be eliminated, and a highly reliable inspection result can be obtained.
[0014]
The measurement method of the present invention can always be a highly reliable MRI apparatus by performing not only when the MRI apparatus is skirted but also periodically, for example, when inspecting a helium refrigerator.

In addition, the magnetic field fluctuation of the open MRI apparatus is usually the largest in the part farthest from the part where the upper and lower cryostats are connected, so such a part is measured so that the magnetic field fluctuation in that part is within a predetermined value. You may adjust it.
[0041]
According to this embodiment, since the high-frequency magnetic field at the time of adjustment and the high-frequency magnetic field used at the time of MRI inspection are generated using the same reference transmitter, the characteristics of the magnetic field strength can be measured under the same conditions as at the time of MRI inspection. Can be performed with high accuracy. Further, it is not necessary to obtain the absolute value of the magnetic field intensity, and minute magnetic field fluctuation can be reliably detected by obtaining the phase fluctuation of the NMR signal. Thereby, the precision of adjustment can be improved.
[0042]
Further, in this embodiment, by using an NMR probe that is completely electromagnetically shielded, no noise is mixed into the NMR signal, and the static magnetic field strength characteristic can be measured accurately. Furthermore, since the sample is small and can scan the space required for the inspection, the position dependency of the magnetic field strength can also be measured.
