従来、犬のトイレ等として用いられるペット用トレイとして、皿状のトレイ本体と、トレイ本体の上面に載置されるシーツを固定するためにトレイ本体の周縁形状に合致した形状に形成される枠状の押さえ部材とからなるものが知られている。
このようなペット用トレイの例として、例えば、特開平８−９８１９号公報には、底面と該底面の周縁に立設する周壁とを有したトレイ本体と、前記トレイ本体の周縁に適合した形状の押え部材とからなり、前記周壁の外周面に係合部を設ける一方、前記押え部材に、該押え部材が前記トレイ本体に敷かれるシーツを押えた状態で、前記係合部に係合し、前記押え部材をトレイ本体に固定する固定部を設けたことを特徴とするペット用トレイが、記載されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上記公報のペット用トレイにおいては、トレイ本体に対して押え部材を固定するための手段として、押え部材の一端及び他端の２箇所にバックルを配設し、これら２つのバックルを各々操作することによって、固定された状態（固定状態）と、固定が解除された状態（固定解除状態）のいずれかの状態を採り得るようにしている。
しかし、上記公報のペット用トレイは、次の点で改良すべき余地があった。
第一に、バックルが固定解除状態にありながら、使用者が固定状態と誤認した場合、この状態でペットのトイレ等に供すると、押え部材がシーツの周縁部分を押圧していないため、シーツがずれてしまう。この場合、ペットの糞がシーツの上ではなく、トレイ本体の上に直接落下するなどの不都合が生じ得る。
