BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a processing apparatus that includes a plurality of units, stores predetermined storage information for each unit, and performs normal operation only when all of the storage information matches, and in particular, replaces the units. The present invention relates to control when writing the stored information in the unit replaced at the time.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The copier control includes individual function control such as image reading control, image processing control, printing control, user interface system control, and the like, and main control that regulates cooperation of these individual functions. In recent copying machines, each of these individual function controls and main control are constructed by separate control units, and these units are combined to constitute one control system. This makes it possible to easily realize abundant device variations and function expansions, and to minimize the exchange of the control system when a failure occurs.
[0003]
Each of these units has a processor that performs information processing and a storage device such as a semiconductor memory. The functions of the units are realized by executing predetermined control programs on the processor while communicating with other units. is doing. These units often include a storage device such as a non-volatile memory that can store and retain important information for a predetermined period even when the power supply is cut off.
[0004]
In addition, in a copying machine, there is known a method of realizing a plurality of models having different grades by switching functions such as copying speed in software for apparatuses having the same hardware configuration. In this case, in order to make the software versatile, identification information indicating the grade of the copier is stored in a predetermined storage device in the copier, and the main control program of the copier reads out the grade identification information and identifies it. Grades are also realized by performing control according to information.
[0005]
In addition, in the copying machine, control is performed to store the charge amount and used number information in a predetermined storage device and update the stored value in accordance with the copying process.
[0006]
Since these grade identification information and billing information are very important for the operation of copying machines, in recent copying machines, this information is duplicated in the storage units of the above-mentioned units, so that failure can be avoided. It ensures that important information is not lost if it happens.
[0007]
Thus, in the case of a device that stores the same information in each unit, when the unit is replaced due to a failure or the like, it is necessary to cause the unit to inherit the information.
[0008]
As a method of inheriting information, a method in which a worker in charge of copier maintenance connects a predetermined maintenance device to the copier and writes the information to a unit replaced from the maintenance device is conventionally known. Yes.
[0009]
In Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-222430 and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-293369, when the model type information stored in each unit becomes inconsistent due to the unit replacement, the unit is not replaced. An information inheritance method is disclosed in which the storage information of a unit that is determined to be exchanged is determined and copied to the unit that is determined to have been exchanged.
[0010]
Among them, in the apparatus disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-222430, the storage information of the plurality of units is inspected when the apparatus is turned on, and the storage information that is the same among the most units among them is stored correctly. It is judged as information and automatically copied to the unit storing other information.
[0011]
In the device disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-293369, the unit is classified into a main unit having a program for controlling the grade of the device and a plurality of other subunits, and the device is turned on. When the stored information of each unit is compared, and as a result, the stored information of only one subunit is different from the other, it is determined that the subunit has been replaced, and the stored information of the main unit is To copy. In addition, in this conventional apparatus, if the stored information of the main unit does not match the majority of the stored information of the subunit, it is determined that the main unit has been exchanged illegally, and copying of the stored information is prohibited. is doing.
[0012]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the method in which an operator directly inputs information to be written to the replaced unit from the maintenance device, if there is a lot of information to be stored, it is very time-consuming and error is likely to occur. Moreover, if such important information can be directly input, there is a risk of misuse.
[0013]
In the method disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 10-222430, correct storage information is determined by a majority vote. Therefore, when a plurality of units are replaced at the same time, the storage information of all units is different from the original storage information. May be overwritten.
[0014]
In the method disclosed in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-293369, the storage information cannot be copied from the sub unit to the main unit. Therefore, when the main unit is replaced due to a failure or the like, the storage information of the sub unit is sucked out to the maintenance device, It was necessary to take measures such as writing to the main unit. Therefore, even in this method, the main unit is configured to accept writing of storage information from the maintenance device, which may lead to abuse.
[0015]
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and provides a method for inheriting stored information to a replaced unit, which is less likely to be misused and less likely to be rewritten to incorrect stored information. Objective.
[0016]

[0024]
In another preferred aspect, the common storage information stored in the storage unit of each unit includes billing basic information that is a basis of billing calculation for use of the processing device.
[0025]
Further, the present invention controls a succession process of the common storage information when the unit is replaced in a processing apparatus having a plurality of units each having a storage unit and storing predetermined common storage information in the storage unit of each unit. The operation of the processing device when a mismatch is detected in the common storage information stored in the storage unit of each unit, and when the operation of the processing device is restricted, from the operator, Accepting input of information that identifies what has been exchanged and not exchanged among the plurality of units, and based on this input, discriminates between those that have been exchanged and those that have not been exchanged, Copying the common storage information stored in the storage unit of each unit determined not to be exchanged to the storage unit of each unit determined to be replaced, The writing of the common memory information unit to the storage unit, characterized in that to limit as can only copy from the storage unit of the other of said units.

The prohibition condition used in the determination in step S32 may be, for example, that when the same unit is frequently replaced, it is determined that the possibility of unauthorized replacement is high. If a failed unit is replaced with a new unit, the new unit generally operates normally for a certain period of time, and it is very rare that the same unit is frequently replaced. Can be judged to be high. In this case, for example, a determination rule such as determining that the replacement of the same unit is frequently performed when the same unit is replaced more than a predetermined number of times during a predetermined period (for example, 24 hours) may be used. Since each

In addition, the above is a determination condition focusing on replacement of the same unit. However, if the replacement frequency of the unit in the entire copying machine or the total number of replacements exceeds a predetermined threshold, the possibility of fraud is high. It can also be judged.

A method of limiting the writing of the common storage information to the storage unit of each unit so that it can be performed only by copying from the storage unit of another unit.
A method of controlling inheritance processing of the common storage information when the units are replaced in a processing apparatus comprising a plurality of units having a storage unit and storing predetermined common storage information in the storage unit of each unit. ,
When a mismatch is detected in the common storage information stored in the storage unit of each unit, the operation of the processing device is limited,
When the operation of the processing device is restricted, based on a predetermined determination condition, for each of the plurality of units, determine whether the unit has been replaced,
The common storage information having the same contents as the common storage information stored in the storage unit of the unit determined not to be replaced is written to the storage unit of the unit determined to be the replaced unit by a predetermined writing unit. ,
Record the history of the writing process by the writing means,
Examine the history of the recorded writing process, and if the history satisfies a predetermined prohibition condition, prohibit writing of the common storage information to the storage unit of the unit by the writing means,
A method characterized by that.
