BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electrical connector used in an electronic device or an electrical device, and more particularly to an electrical connector that matches the characteristic impedance while maintaining the elasticity of the contact.
[0002]
[Prior art]
As a general connector, a required number of contacts and a housing having a fitting port into which a mating connector or a board is inserted are fixed, and the contacts are fixed by press-fitting, a lance or the like. The contact includes a contact portion that contacts a mating connector or a substrate, a fixed portion that is fixed to the housing, and a connection portion that is connected to the substrate. In order to match the characteristic impedance, the distance between adjacent contacts is generally the same. Further, in order to ensure the elasticity of the contact, it is necessary to distribute the stress on the spring, thin the contact portion side, things like thickening the side closer to the fixed portion has been common practice .
[0003]
[Patent Document 1]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION According to the abstract of Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2000-340282, it is intended to provide a low inductance electrical connector for connecting an electrical component to a circuit board, a horizontal base, a slot for accommodating an edge of the electrical component, and a plurality of terminals A housing having a cavity, and having a plurality of conductive terminals having a tail portion extending from the base and a resilient contact portion attached to the terminal cavity, the contact portion having a minimum overall length. The contact portion has a substantially flat main body portion extending substantially vertically in the terminal cavity and a bump formed on the main body portion projecting inward into the slot. In this document 1, in order to match the characteristic impedance and at the same time improve the elasticity with the contact portion, only the portion in contact with the counterpart as shown in FIGS. 4 and 8 is bent by bending.
[0004]
[Patent Document 2]
According to the summary of Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 5-159931, a high-density connector in which jack terminals in which a longitudinal cross section in a straight region excluding a contact portion is formed in a U-shape are arranged at high density on an insulator, The purpose is to reduce the amount of capacitance that can exist between adjacent terminals, thereby suppressing the occurrence of crosstalk between adjacent terminals and improving the characteristics as a connector. A plurality of jack terminals whose other ends are formed as external connection terminals after passing through the straight portion formed in the shape of "", and the jack terminals are arranged in a matrix of a plurality of rows at the straight portion. A high-density connector having at least an insulator to be fixed, wherein the jack terminal has a straight portion and a facing area reduction means between the jack terminal adjacent in the row direction. It has been configured to include a hole and chipping in. As described in Paragraph No. 0029 of the specification, this document 2 can reduce a facing area between adjacent terminals by providing a contact hole and appropriately setting the size of the hole. Therefore, the capacitance generated between the terminals can be reduced and the crosstalk between the terminals is reduced.
[0005]
[Patent Document 3]
According to the summary of Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open No. 5-73882, a connector body in which a corresponding connector is connected to the front side of the connector is provided on the rear side with the object of providing a connector having a good high-frequency characteristic without variation in characteristic impedance. A mounting body to be connected to the substrate B is provided, the mounting body is substantially L-shaped, a plurality of terminals are provided on one end side, a connection hole for inserting the contact 1 is provided on the other end side, and a corner of the mounting body is provided. An inclined part is provided inside the part, and a wiring pattern connecting the upper half contact and the rear half terminal is formed on the inclined part, and these are formed to have a uniform width and are used for signal lines. Arrange ones for ground lines alternately at equal intervals. Similarly, a signal line wiring pattern and a ground line wiring are formed on the outside of the insulator from the lower half to the front half to connect the contacts and the terminals. As described in Paragraph No. 0016 of this specification, since the width and interval of the signal line wiring pattern and the ground line wiring are uniform, the characteristic impedance in the connector differs depending on the conductor part. However, there is a description in which a square hole is provided in the contact as shown in FIG. 2, but the purpose is not described.
[0006]
[Patent Document 4]
According to the summary of Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 11-31260, an object of the present invention is to provide an electrical connector capable of high-speed transmission without causing crosstalk even with a tuning hawk-type socket contact arranged at a narrow pitch. A connecting part that is held and fixed to the insulator and connected to the substrate on one end side, a fixing part that is fixed to the insulator at a substantially central part, and a contact part that contacts the mating contact on the other end side are arranged in parallel. In the electrical connector comprising a socket contact composed of two contact pieces, a hole is provided in the vicinity of the center of the fixed portion of the socket contact. FIG. 1 of this document 4 discloses a square hole, and paragraph number 0010 of the specification states that the shape of the hole may be circular, square, or triangular.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In a typical connector structure as described above, in order to ensure consistency of the characteristic impedance, to be the same distance between adjacent contacts, the width of the fixing portion and the contact portion had to be the same . Further, in order to ensure the elasticity of the contact, it is necessary to distribute the stress on the spring, thin the contact portion side, there is necessary to increase the side closer to the fixed portion. As described above, there is a problem to be solved that there is a contradictory relationship between matching the characteristic impedance and ensuring the elasticity of the contact.
If the characteristic impedance is not matched, a transmission loss occurs, and high-speed transmission cannot be achieved. If the elasticity of the contact is not ensured, it will be permanently deformed immediately after repeated insertion / extraction with a counterpart (connector, board, etc.), resulting in poor connection.
[0008]
The present invention has been made in view of such a conventional problem, and provides an electrical connector capable of matching the characteristic impedance while ensuring the elasticity of the contact portion of the contact.
This object can also be achieved in Document 1, but this method is not suitable for removal of a large number of members because of high contact pressure. Documents 2 to 4 have a description that holes are provided in the contacts, but all have different purposes.
