BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic mail system, and in particular, when an electronic mail is exchanged between information processing apparatuses such as a personal computer and a workstation connected on a communication line such as a local area network, The present invention relates to an electronic mail system capable of telling a sender side whether or not a corresponding mail has been read.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as an e-mail system that sends and receives e-mail between information processing terminals such as personal computers and workstations, a notification from the receiver side is sent to the sender side as to whether or not the recipient has received the mail. It is known that a notification of opening indicating that the mail has been opened is given. In addition, as an e-mail system using another method, a timer value is set at the time of e-mail transmission, and if the recipient does not open the e-mail by a predetermined time, the e-mail is sent back to the sender side. Is also known.
[0003]
Furthermore, as an e-mail system based on other methods, when the e-mail sender requests an answer from the recipient, the receiver monitors the timer, and when there is no answer within a certain time, the list of incoming e-mails on the recipient side It is also known to display a warning prompting for an answer.
[0004]
As conventional techniques related to this type of electronic mail system, for example, techniques described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open Nos. 5-48642, 8-97850, 9-181766, and the like are known.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the above-described conventional email system, the recipient opens the email. It is possible to inform the sender of whether or not the message was sent to the sender, but the recipient is performing an operation such as closing or discarding the mail immediately after opening the mail. There is a problem that it is impossible to inform the sender whether or not the recipient has actually read the contents of the mail.
[0006]
An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problems of the prior art, and information for determining whether or not an e-mail recipient has read the mail text after opening the corresponding mail, for example, display of the mail text An object of the present invention is to provide an e-mail system capable of notifying the transmission side of time, specific marking points, and the like as evaluation functions.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, an object of the present invention is to provide an electronic mail system in which a plurality of information processing apparatuses are connected via a communication line and exchange electronic mails between arbitrary information processing apparatuses. A means for notifying the sender of the text display time of the received mail, or a means for sending an opening notification for the corresponding mail to the information processing apparatus on the transmission side when the text display time of the received mail is a predetermined time or longer. Is achieved.
[0008]
In addition, the object is that the information processing apparatus that receives the e-mail has means for prohibiting the closing of the e-mail if the received e-mail has an attached file, and all of the attached files are not opened. In the case where all the open times are equal to or longer than a certain time, this is achieved by providing means for sending an opening notification for the corresponding mail to the information processing apparatus on the transmission side.
[0009]
Further, the object is to provide an information processing apparatus that receives an e-mail, when the text of the received mail is displayed up to the last character string, a means for sending an opening notification for the corresponding mail to the information processing apparatus on the transmission side. Is achieved.
[0010]
Further, the object is to provide an information processing apparatus that transmits an e-mail, which includes means for transmitting an important point with a mark in advance when the e-mail is created, and the information processing apparatus that receives the e-mail is displayed. If all of the marks in the body of the mail are not pointed by an input device such as a mouse, the means for prohibiting the closing of the mail, or all of the marks in the body of the displayed received mail are by an input device such as a mouse If it is pointed, it is achieved by providing means for sending an opening notification for the corresponding mail to the information processing apparatus on the transmission side.
