本発明は、非安定マルチバイブレータ方式の発振回路及びそれを用いた周波数変調回路に関する。

【従来の技術】
従来、非安定マルチバイブレータ方式の電圧制御発振器を用いた周波数変調回路としては特開平1−155506号公報に記載されたものが知られている。図5はその構成を示し、この従来の周波数変調回路は、変調信号電圧としての映像信号電圧を、電圧−電流変換回路によって変調信号電流に変換し、その変調信号電流に応じて、非安定マルチバイブレータの制御電流を制御する構成により発振周波数を制御して、周波数変調された出力信号を得るように構成されている。

図5を参照して、従来の非安定マルチバイブレータについて詳しく説明する。NPN形トランジスタ1、2は交互にオンオフし、その各エミッタ間にコンデンサ(その容量をCとする)3が接続される。トランジスタ1、2の各エミッタはまた、互いに等しい定電流の定電流源(その定電流をIo/2とする)11、12を通じて接地されている。そして、この定電流源11、12の各定電流Io/2を変調信号によって変調する。

バッファ用のNPN形トランジスタ9、10は、各ベースがそれぞれトランジスタ1、2のコレクタに接続され、各コレクタが共に電源(その電圧をVccとする)+Bに接続され、各エミッタがそれぞれ互いに等しい定電流の定電流源13、14を通じて接地されている。そして、トランジスタ9、10の各エミッタから被FM変調映像信号が取り出されて、それぞれトランジスタ2、1のベースに印加される。

しかしながら、図5に示す従来の周波数変調回路では、トランジスタ1、2のエミッタ抵抗が温度によって変化するため、電圧−電流変換の直線性が悪く、このため、発振周波数の変化特性が直線にならないという問題があった。

本発明は、従来の問題を解決するためになされたもので、発振周波数の変化特性が直線になるように補正することのできる発振回路を提供することを目的とする。
本発明はまた、広帯域にわたる高精度の周波数変調を行うことができる周波数変調回路を提供することを目的とする。

本発明の発振回路は、非安定マルチバイブレータと、前記非安定マルチバイブレータの発振周波数を決定する共振回路とを備え、

それぞれ3個以上複数の可変容量ダイオードが並列接続された第1の可変容量ダイオード群と第2の可変容量ダイオード群とが互いに逆極性で直列接続され、前記複数の可変容量ダイオードにそれぞれ印加される制御電圧に応じて容量が変化して前記共振回路の共振周波数を決定する第1の可変容量ダイオード回路と、
前記第1の可変容量ダイオード回路の一端と前記共振回路の一方の出力端との間に接続された第1の可変容量ダイオードと、前記第1の可変容量ダイオード回路の他端と前記共振回路の他方の出力端との間に接続された第2の可変容量ダイオードとを有し、前記制御電圧に応じて容量が変化して前記第1の可変容量ダイオード回路の容量変化特性が直線になるように補正する第2の可変容量ダイオード回路とを、

【発明の実施の形態】
<第1の実施の形態>
本発明の第1の実施の形態の発振回路及び周波数変調回路を図1に示す。図1に示す回路は概略的に、図の下方に示す非安定マルチバイブレータと、図の上方に示すLC型の共振回路43により構成されている。共振回路43は、基板上の配線パターン又はコイルにより構成するインダクタ18と、可変容量ダイオード群19と、コンデンサ20、21と、補正容量として働く可変容量ダイオード22、23と、直流成分をカットするコンデンサ24、25により構成されている。可変容量ダイオード群19は、それぞれ5つの可変容量ダイオードが並列に接続された可変容量ダイオード群19a、19bを有し、可変容量ダイオード群19a、19bの各カソードがさらに共通に接続されて並列に接続されている。

インダクタ18はその中央部が接地点42で接地され、各一端がそれぞれコンデンサ20、21を介して可変容量ダイオード群19a、19bの各アノードに接続されている。可変容量ダイオード群19a、19bの各アノードは、それぞれ可変容量ダイオード22、23、コンデンサ24、25を介してインダクタ18の各一端と、非安定マルチバイブレータの抵抗34、36及びコンデンサ28、29の各一端に接続されている。可変容量ダイオード群19、可変容量ダイオード22、23の各アノードには共通に、端子39から電圧V1が印加され、各カソードには共通に端子40から基準電位V2が印加される。これにより、可変容量ダイオード群19、可変容量ダイオード22、23には逆電圧V(V=V2−V1)が加わり、電圧Vに対する可変容量で共振する。図1の構成で共振回路として動作する条件はV>0となる。

次に図1の下方に示す非安定マルチバイブレータについて簡単に説明する。NPN形トランジスタ(以下単にトランジスタともいう)26、27は交互にオンオフし、トランジスタ26、27のベースには、端子41より印加される直流電圧V3を抵抗30、31によりそれぞれ分圧した直流電圧がそれぞれ抵抗32、33を通して印加される。コンデンサ28、29は発振出力を帰還する働きがあり、発振出力をトランジスタ26、27の各ベースに帰還する働きをする。定電流源38は発振回路に流れる電流を一定にする働きがあり、定電流源38により決定する直流電流をIとしたとき、I/2の電流がそれぞれのトランジスタ26、27を流れる。抵抗34、36は接地点42を基準に電流I/2による電圧降下を生じる働きがある。抵抗35、37はエミッタ電位を基準に電流I/2により電圧降下を生じる働きがある。

式(1)においてインダクタンスL1を固定としたとき、1/(2πL1/2)は固定値となり、発振周波数fは1/C1/2により決定される。このため、制御電圧Vが変化することにより可変容量ダイオード群19、コンデンサ20、21の容量が変化し、合成容量Cが変化することにより発振周波数fが制御される。そして、制御電圧Vを変調信号に応じて変化させることにより発振周波数fを制御して、周波数変調出力を得る。

以上のように構成された周波数変調回路について、図2を用いてその動作を説明する。図2は図1の構成による周波数変調回路において制御電圧Vと合成容量Cの関係を表したものである。まず、曲線45は図1の構成における周波数変調回路において制御電圧Vを変化させたときの1/C1/2の変化をあらわしている。曲線44は合成容量C1の要素から補正容量22、23を削除したときの特性を表している。補正容量として働く可変容量ダイオード22、23を加えたことにより、制御電圧Vに対する容量の逆数の特性において直線性が改善される。発振器の制御電圧Vに対する容量の逆数の特性において直線性が改善されることは、発振器の制御電圧Vと出力周波数の直線性を改善することを意味する。このように制御電圧Vに対する出力周波数fの直線性を改善することにより、広範囲の制御電圧Vにわたり周波数変調を精度よく行うことが可能となる。

図3は図1の構成の周波数変調回路において周波数=95MHz〜140MHzを出力させ、FM偏移75kHz付近としたときのFM偏移特性を示している。曲線46は補正容量22、23による補正をおこなったとき、また、曲線47は補正容量22、23を削除したときの特性をあらわしている。補正容量22、23により制御電圧Vに対する出力周波数の直線性がf=100〜110MHzの区間において改善されている。

このような本発明の第1の実施の形態によれば、制御電圧Vに応じて容量が変化して共振回路43の共振周波数fを決定する可変容量ダイオード群19と、制御電圧Vに応じて容量が変化して可変容量ダイオード群19の容量変化特性が直線になるように補正する可変容量ダイオード22、23を設けることにより、制御電圧Vの変化分に対する出力周波数変化分の直線性の変化を補正することができ、広帯域に高精度の周波数変調を行うことができる。

次に、本発明の第2の実施の形態を説明する。図には示されていないが、補正容量を可変容量ダイオード22、23の代わりに固定容量のコンデンサにより構成し、制御電圧Vのレンジに応じたバンド切換え信号によりこのコンデンサのオン又はオフを行うことにより、制御電圧Vに対する出力周波数fの直線性を改善することができる。

<第3の実施の形態>
本発明の第3の実施の形態の周波数変調器を図4に示す。図4では、図1に示す構成の共振回路43に対してインダクタ切換え部48が追加されている。他の構成は同じである。インダクタ切換え部48は基板上の配線パターン又はコイルにより構成されたインダクタ48aとバンド切換えダイオード50、51を有し、インダクタ48aはその中央部がインダクタ切換え信号入力端子49に接続され、各一端がそれぞれダイオード50、51を介してインダクタ18の各一端に接続されている。そして、インダクタ切換え信号入力端子49より入力するバンド切換え信号によりダイオード50、51をオン又はオフすることにより、共振回路43のインダクタンスLを切り換える。

このように本発明の第3の実施の形態によれば、制御電圧Vに対する出力周波数の直線性補正回路を構成した非安定マルチバイブレータにおいて、インダクタンスLを切り換えることにより、発振器がより広帯域な発振が可能となり、このため、広帯域にわたる高精度の周波数変調を行うことができる。

以上のように本発明によれば、発振周波数の変化特性が直線になるように補正することができ、また、広帯域にわたる高精度の周波数変調を行うことができる。
